The current issue is how to divide the labor. Your 20 crabs are skilled in agriculture, and have brought some kelp from their homes for your fields. Your lobsters are strong beasts of burden, and will help move large things. Your mantis shrimp will help however they can.

Your crabs tend to the kelp, and your lobsters burrow beneath your IRON LAIR!

Scanning the area, you notice a few routes that lead to the beast, which is now hovering over you, probing for a way through the rocks.

A trench of rocks leads up the slope behind you. You see one massive rock that is dangerously close to the thing's eye.

    >> Crabmaster !vuOBu6g15U 04/22/10(Thu)23:57 No.9369980
You use your glorious rending claw to nearly sever one of the massive tentacles. The blood covers your claw, and so Bloodshell is most pleased! Your claw throbs, and the teeth that line its insides elongate and become serrated!

You spin and fire a jet to launch yourself into the beast's mouth, deftly avoiding the huge beak. Its spiked tongue lashed out at you inside its mouth, but your SPINED CARAPACE causes the beast only more pain! You scuttle your way along the inside of its mouth, before plunging your vicious, blood-soaked claw into where you hope is the things brain.

A geyser of blood sprays from the wound you've caused, and the motions of the beast become slightly more listless and less focused. Your mantises poud away at the second eye, to the point where they burrow a hole right to you!

The massive creature issues a final cry of agony before dropping to the sharp sea-floor with an enormous slam. From the center of its head, a massive, blood stained crab erupts in a shower of gore.

YOU ARE THE CRAB KING, AND NOT EVEN THE MIGHTIEST SQUID WILL EVER BEST YOU IN COMBAT.

You should be wary not to overfish an area. Your IRON LAIR is most excellent, but it will not do you any good if you cannot feed your subjects. Hunting and gathering will sustain you for a long time if your population does not get too high. Kelp fields will keep you going indefinitely, it's just a matter of finding space for all that kelp.

with our new intellect I'm sure we could find some of the items on the ship more useful. shall we scour the base for tech?

A few hours of searching turns up a number of ventilation grates that can be bent into a cage. Various other odds and ends turn up also. If you could find it on an aircraft carrier, you can find it in here.

Dolphins and Whales produce milk. We must seek out Dolphins and whales to develop into mobile armored platforms and livestock, their meager intelligence will be no match for our Crabwit.

Are there any torpedoes we can train shrimp to sail in on? Also, I think that exchanging claws between a couple of shrimp might be worth research, possibly creating shrimp with one pistol claw and one mantis claw.
    >> Crabmaster !vuOBu6g15U 04/23/10(Fri)01:07 No.9371004
A few minutes of bending and you've got a LARGE FISH CAGE. Your pistol shrimp have been reliably bringing in fish for the past week or so.

Mix-matching claws is entirely possible. You did in the very first stages of your rise to power. How many experimental shrimp will be used?

The West holds many secrets. You have yet to venture that way. It is fabled that ancient protocrabs reside in the deep trenches of the west.

also, search for large scale rubber band like materials to create your lobster/shrimp railgun

You quickly round up ten mantis shrimp and ten pistol shrimp. They scuttle away to the deeper sections of the ship for experimentation. This is pleasing to Bloodshell.

Go visit the great hermit crab on the mountain for some sage wisdom.

Also we should probably repurpose the Kraken's cave; there's probably all sorts of sweet stuff inside that we're totally forgetting about.

You find some bungee cords within the stores of the wreck. They will do adequately, you think.

The Kraken's lair has yet to be explored, along with the Western flats.

You attempt to launch a mantis from a jury-rigged lobsterpult. The bungee cord sends the mantis forward about a foot, then snaps.

I guess water'll do that, huh?

You and a 500-strong contingent of shrimp and lobsters trek back to the lair of the Kraken. Inside, you find various odds and ends from a plethora of ships. Torn-up husks of once-mighty vessels line the wall. This is a veritable goldmine of resources.

However, the land is inadequate for anything other than hunting and gathering. Farming simply will not do here, and the population of the local fauna is dipping dangerously low thanks to the massive creature's appetite.

At this rate, not much can stand in your way. Remember that you have a fuckton of followers, and getting rid of a few (or a ton) of the not-important ones is fine, as long as it is done so in battle against a worthy foe.
