Where to begin, where to begin.
    Ah yes.
You are a descendant of the ancient Heros of old.
It was three fortnights ago you celebrated your sixth year of twilight, and officially turned twenty four.
You've grown up in this small town on the edge of the kingdom of man, yet few remember your lineage or even recognize the heros of the past were once real, and you only know because of the stories told to you by your parents.
Do you remember what the heros could do better than any other man?

I think its time that you Woke Up.

You can smell smoke from your bed, and its quiet out. The sun shines through the small window in your cottage. It must be the afternoon from the angle of the light.
You don't even hear a chicken clucking right now.

RICK! what are you going to do today, in your little town. You're the blacksmith's apprentice, but you haven't really gotten the fully muscled and permanent soot coloration yet. You've had your share of women, but not all of them -- that'd be a bad idea, seeing as this town is only about fifty people.

    You check inside the smithy.
    Its cold inside.
Theres enough light to see a few almost useless pieces of metal hanging on the wall. Some tongs, an anvil, and one or two pieces of scrap metal. Theres also a hammer resting on the anvil, next to a half-finished blade. It doesn't have a handle or guard, but you could probably use the unfinished side to hold it. It could be kinda pokey you suppose.
    Hanging there's an oil lamp.
    The lamp isn't lit.

It occurs to you John might not not appreciate you taking his stuff.

    You 'borrow' John's Smithy hammer.
Its fairly hefty. You probably shouldn't swing this around too much, you could get tired quickly if you aren't careful.
You go back out into the village area, to continue exploring the village.
The chicken without a head seems to have wandered off somewhere.
    ##Noticed something due to statistics!##
You notice that there seems to be a small, sparse trail of blood leading towards the village center from the broken root the chicken stumbled over. It's probably from the chicken.

You still don't hear anyone. You can still smell smoke in the air.

The headless chicken bumps into the backside of Melanie's house.
    You smell smoke.

    ...
He doesn't seem to notice you.

You examine the wall. There's words on the wall.
You can only read some of them.
    "Wake...???...Chicken...???...You'll...???...everyone."
The words appear to be written in blood.

It's John Maker Smith's Hammer. Its a hammer used for shaping metal. It is fairly hefty, you probably shouldn't swing it around too much, you could tire yourself out quickly.
It occurs to you that John might not appreciate you taking his stuff.

It works because you were dreaming.
    And why is it confusing?
    Well, dreams can be confusing.
And so can the transition from dream to reality.

    It feels soft, and smooth.
It is warm, but not as warm as the thing to your left.
    It is relatively sturdy.
    It is gentle.

    You open your eyes.
    Its early morning.
    You're in your bedroom.
Your wife, Melanie is next to you.
    She is smiling at you.
She gestures to her lips to be quiet.
    You don't hear any children.

    --Announcement--
Well, that's basically all for tonight.
    See you tomorrow guys.

    The point is either:
    Nothing
Stuck reliving something until we do it right
    A fa/tg/uy in a coma.

considering how little happened, this was surprisingly mindscrew-y.
    I applaud you, OP.
