Adeptus Evangelion is a system made by and for /tg/. While it's a modification of Dark heresy, there are no 40k elements aside from a throwaway reference line that would never actually affect the game. It's entirely an Evangelion RPG.

Did you know that there will be simplified optional rules in a few sidebars here and there to help make games run faster?

These include hit locations more akin to the ones in normal DH, less rolling during time management options when not fighting, upgrades that don't feel like taxes, and a few other things I am forgetting.

Now you know, I would say more but I have a game to run in like half an hour! >>9568438

/rs/. The Christmas edition should still be up there, it's the most recent official release.

However, keep in mind that it'll only be a couple more days until version 2 is released, so you may want to wait for that before starting anything up aside from vague plans.

Well, you can get v1 rules on sup/tg/, but I wouldn't reccomend it.

I may have missed my deadline of Friday for the release of V2, but come hell or high water it WILL be out in this next week due to computer-access issues that would set it back for months if I wait longer than that.

So yeah. You might wanna check back in a week for the "superior in every way" Version 2 PDF.

FFG does great work with system building. It captures the feel of 40k, which is surprisingly easy to change to give the feel of NGE. I would recommend looking into playing a game of it or two, but you won't be hurt at all by picking up the system through AE.

This. In the wake of, dare I say, more mainstream PnP games going the way of higher starting HP (I believe Wizards started this with SWSE where combat heavy classes went from 12-18 HP to 30+ at 1st level), DH is much grittier and less forgiving of poor player decisions.
It has some flaws, but they're usually relegated to higher levels, where most systems start to creak and break.

Saying it is better than d20 is like saying it is better than shit. DH/RT's system is a middle of the road system, I was not particularly impressed with the mechanics. To say it captures the feel of 40k is more a tribute to the art in the books than anything else.

Surprisingly, this is in Eva canon. It's called a Trident, and v2 will have stats for it.

While not recommended, you could possibly have a game where one or more pilots can't even synch with an eva and are instead in these.

It works really well for Eva, with some changes.

    Insanity System: check.

Getting Tanged: Ego barrier system that replaces DH corruption.

Brutal combat: oh god, that's a check. And with an Eva-scale combat ruleset with separate wound totals per body part, you can lose both arms and still have enough fight in you to suicide-charge Zeruel!

We also inserted a mandatory amount of drawbacks at character creation, for FLAWED PILOTS. Because, this IS Eva we are talking about.

    ect...

You can do whatever you want with it. Everyone is a pilot, save for the Misato stand-in. We have stats for all the canon Angels, but you could very well make your own. We have stats for Tokyo-3, but you could very well set it elsewhere.

Use the canon for ideas rather than for the whole plot. I would imagine there are difficulties in writing a story for it, though.

I used to think that running an Eva game would be virtually impossible too. I mean, it all wraps up into one big straightline mythos, how do you deviate from that?

The answer is surprisingly simple, though it took me a lot of looking into into Eva fluff and the reading of a certain fanfiction to see it.

Third Impact can be any number of events. Its the scale and the triggers that define them. Your game can follow its own Third Impact route, or non at all.

Similarly, the number of angels and what they are is hella-variable.

In between that, the location of the Geofront, what you are protecting (Adam, Liliith, the Lance... or none of the above) is also variable. Hell, there need not even be a Geofront! Just some base you protect.

And for some campaigns, not even that...

Breaking down the walls of Eva looks harder than it really is.

Its designed for Tabletop play like any normal PnP. There are printable character sheets and everything.

That said, I know of about 6 online campaigns happening over IRC as we speak.

It suffers from the traditional downsides of online pnp (player lag, slow battles, inability to slap target player...) but it works as well as anything else.

The current goal was to put out a game that people could look at and go "just like the show" without being OBLIGATED to follow it.

Anima would take some work to run, currently, because of its major departures.

F-Type we heavily considered adding, but determined to be overpowered for the level of play expected. We do, however, have AdEva extensions in the works right now to provide the content we felt was splat-booky.

I, for one, greatly anticipate the development of what we affectionately call "Spacevangelion".

If your group doesn't pull a wolf pack on him and wear down his at field before trying to kill him, yeah he will mess your group up. However, the three times I have pitted him against Evangelions he has managed to hit them perhaps three times and in return they just tore him apart. He's really more of a Pilot's First Angelfight style enemy anyways, let the pilots get used to fighting angels before they get pitted against Ramiel or Zeruel.

well, IIRC, it was only because 1) there often wasn't enough time between the Angel appearing and the UN to mount a sufficient counterattack (When they did attack Sahaquiel, episode 12, in space, they managed to lop off quite a bit of its mass), and 2) they never used sufficient quantities of nuclear weaponry (which Ritsuko mentions would have worked)

N2 Mines CAN harm an Angel... sometimes. Remember, Zeruel took one point blank (inside his AT Field no less ) and didn't even blink.

Some Angels are more resilient than others to N2, and sometimes you just get lucky.

That said, in AdEva Angels get increasingly resistant to N2s, so only the first one is likely to do much of anything. The second attacks will probably fail. The third+ WILL fail.

Using multiple N2s to destroy an angel in one go? GM Fiat plot death.

But worked at what cost? AE, even v1, has notes on nuking an Angel. It'd work, but a nuke going off counts as dealing as much collateral damage as is possible within the rules, not to mention the political issues.

All that said, we have made some changes. Not everything translates all that smoothly to tabletop, so that which doesn't is out the window.

In the first episode the UN tried to take down Sachiel for like half an hour without even managing to scratch him before going "FUCK THIS SHIT" and hitting him with a strategic scale N2 warhead. And that slowed him down for like 30 minutes. Ditto for like every other time we've seen conventional forces go up against an angel.

Shinji & Warhammer 40k isn't really a crossover as much as 'what if Shinji learned duty, honor, tactics, the management of power and strategy from finding an old crate of WH40K figures and playing them for years pre-series?'
Great scene when he's reunited with Gendo. Gendo expects a scared, lost boy and gets "No, I will go and kill the enemies of humanity. But then, father, we will talk. At great length". Later, Maya becomes a Sister of Battle...

Yeah, but that's dumb, because there's no way that even with the AT field down that an Eva could hit with more force (or pressure, even) than a nuke. Yet whichever angel it was that Rei rammed with the N2 bomb--to no affect--is able to be torn apart by Shinji later when Eva 01 berserks (and could possibly have been beforehand).

We Have rules in place to make it work. Ablative armor on Zeruel, ect.

And its not that the Eva can hit with more force, its that the Eva can ignore more of the Angels defenses.

If you can get an N2 mine to go off in the face of an Angel with no active AT Field? It is dead as hell unless it gets exceptionally lucky, and even then it is one crispy critter.

But to do that, you need to have its field down. Which means you neutralized, and at least 1 Eva is similarly exposed and likely to die.

Plus, you need to keep in mind that a lot of the "lol nuke the angels" plans require the use of an Evangelion to make them even partly feasible, what with the Angel's AT field. And an Evangelion is so expensive to grow that each one built literally means that millions of refugees will starve to death in crowded camps. SEELE's descision to build a dozen of them at once with the EVA Series pretty much meant that even without the whole third impact scenario going on, the UN was going to be bankrupt for a couple decades afterwards. So having NERV using them as a glorified suicide bomber is NOT a good choice cost wise. Thats what Jet Alone units are for, if you need to have a mecha blow itself to hell with a hydrogen bomb.

To bring down the AT field you pretty much need an Evangelion to stand at ground zero to neutralize the Angel's AT Field before you set off the nukes, problem is this leaves it at ground zero when you set off the nukes. What I meant was if you wanted to strap a bunch of nukes to a mecha and make it into the equilivent of a suicide bomber, from a cost and a rarity perspective a Jet Alone unit was a far better choice for the mission, given that it is both cheaper and less useful then an evangelion unit.

Indeed, this and long range support are the only things a basic model Jet Alone would be good at, the first because you don't care about nuclear fallout if you've strapped a dozen A-bombs to its chassis, and the second because you likely wouldn't have to deal with the drawbacks of having a nuclear fission reactor in a unit designed for sniping attacks with a positron rifle or heavy railgun.

For the purposes of having the Jet Alone end its life in a ball of nuclear fire, I'm going to pretend the AT field was brought down by an EVA or two with a third generating a bunker field to cover the rest of the group, or the JSSDF was just being its usual retarded self and trying to solo an angel again.

Once we get into the Prime model Jet Alone units, then you can branch out into being actually able to do what the basic model was designed to do, fight an angel in hand to hand combat. Presumbly, without NERV being a dick and screwing around with the prototype's test run, we'd see a variety of variants designed to do anything from long range support, to units fitted with heavy armor for taking a beating while other, more fragile units time to do their thing in meele range, to models designed to be piloted by a human officer serving as a commander for a "company" of computer controlled units. Also, we'd see every heavy manufacturing company from the American auto companies to some firm in Russia that used to build ice breakers would be trying their hand at making a cheaper and more affordable "angel killer" in an attempt to steal the UN mandate for fighting the angels from NERV.

A thought about AT Fields and N2 Mines:

The "Absolute Terror" Field is described as someone's bubble of individuality. e all have AT fields, but despite that we can be hurt and shot by physical forces. I don't think then that the AT Field is necessarily an absolute impregnable barrier to physical force, and can in certain circumstances fail.

Unlike humans, which can achieve diverse beings, the Angels have evolved into specific forms dedicated to singular ends - their AT Fields are so powerful because of the sheer mangnitude of their self-belief - they ARE their purpose, they WILL achieve their end, and NOTHING will get in their way.

In the series, several Angels were damaged by N2 barrages even without the Evas' assistance. Perhaps the point-blank annihilation that coes from being hammered by a torrent of atomic death is of such astonishing power that it causes, for even the briefest instant, the total self-confidence to flicker with the briefest twinge of doubt in the back of an Angel's subconsciousness, allowing some power to slip through the slightly-weakened barrier and inflict damage.

    An interesting theory.

    What, then, does neutralization represent?

It also has some very interesting implications for people. I'm writing a paper on Apocalypse Now as we speak, and one of the lines is:

“I guess he wasn’t a bad officer. He loved his men, and they felt safe with him. He was one of those people who have a kind of weird light around them. You just knew he was going to come out of this without a scratch.”

Personal scale AT field for the win.

    >>9572311
i always prefered to think that an angel took damage from an N2 weapon because they didn't know to protect themselves from it and relied totally on sub/unconscious defenses to shield off threats. A weapon of signifigant magnitude would be able to penetrate that and cause damage, but at the cost of making them realize there is something that could harm them and so they would then consciously shield themselves from it.

    >>What, then, does neutralization represent?

That's a difficult one to reconcile, I'll admit. Keeping to theme of the AT Field being a projection of mental self-possession and personality, you could see neutralisation as a battle of wills - relations between people emerge (or collapse) when minds butt up against each other, and it is the same with Evas and Angels. The Eva wants to hold a dialogue, even if it's non-verbal communication delivered by means of a fist!

I appreciate that it's a bit of a clumsy explanation, though, as what would happen if you happened to have a 'sociopathic' (so to speak) Angel which just did not give a damn what anyone else thought of it and so became effectively invulnerable?

    So... Zeruel?

Zeruel took EVERYTHING to the face. He didnt give a shit about Asuka. Rei's N2 mine was a mild inconvenience. He koolaid-mans his way into Nerv HQ went suddenly his crazy fucker busts through an wall and starts wailing on him.

Zeruel gets tossed around and bloodied for a bit, but then Unit 01 loses power an Zeruel goes in for the kill. The Eva is down, he has done this before. He is confident.

And then Unit 01 wakes up, grabs his arm, and catches him by surprise. In that split second Zeruel goes "Wait, what?" and ends up with Unit 01's horn in his eye. Zeruel panics. AT Field collapses. Unit 01 fucking eats him alive.

Sadly, Asuka disproved the theory by her very existence. Asuka is so into her role as an Eva pilot that, in theory, she should be invulnerable.

And its not like she didn't have tremendous will. After all, Shinji got a free pass out of the LCL sea at the End of EoE. He wakes up... and ASUKA IS ALREADY THERE. Thus proving she really WAS the most stubborn bitch on the planet.

Hell. The Cores might even be PIECES of Adam that were scattered during Second Impact, and their quest to rejoin Adam is little more than a massive self-repair function.

The Angels are said to be the perfection of physical development, flawless expressions of the clarity of form... but is the obsession with furthering "evolution" (which is also the goal of SEELE and Instrumentality) really to their advantage? The Angels aren't atop a pinnacle, they're backed into a dead end...

The thing about evolution is that it's random to human eyes (personally I believe in the blossoming-universe theology the God guides evolution, but that's a topic for another thread so let's not get sidetracked into that here). Mankind will adapt as and when it must. SEELE's course is a folly, and the Angels are caricatures warning us about that.

    > The Angels aren't atop a pinnacle, they're backed into a dead end...

Except they are not, not really.

Angel cannot evolve, because we have no indication that they can breed. However, they can change their own forms to incredible degrees. Sachiel, as we saw, was capable of altering its own form dramatically given a little time. Armisael even moreso.

Each Angel IS its core. Everything else is the clothes it worse to work that day. While they may not be able to evolve, their ability to change themselves (a form of auto-evolution) prevents them from REALLY being a dead end as they can always change later.

Consider the Iruel fight. Its adaptability was so great that it was the only weapon to be used against it. It had to be tricked into changing itself into a form that would ultimately destroy itself before it had a chance to correct its mistake.

I think it might be more relevant than you think. SEELE wanted to skip over God's plans; Gendo wanted to actually BE God. Derailing the train of your "guided evolution" through Instrumentality might make humanity more free, but the thing about a derailed train is that it goes nowhere (which is one of the reasons why Shinji rejected Instrumentality at the end of the series).

Due keep in mind that the Angels may very well by 15 years old. And even if they are not, they have no had a lot of activity.

The angels don't even seem to fight each other. Mankind has been fighting itself at every step of civilization, and only been getting better at it. Given their short amount of time to work from the ground up, the angels actually learned remarkably quickly from each others failures.

Sachiel shows up with no real plan. Gets pissed off by all these flying things, and learns in the field the benefits of ranged weaponry. So we makes himself a beam cannon. He is killed by a Berserk Unit 01 in close combat.

Shamshel shows up with no ranged weapon (which was unable to harm Unit 01) and instead comes with energy tendrils with incredible reach, giving it a distinct close combat advantage. Again, killed by Unit 01.

Ramiel says "fuck close combat entirely". Pure ranged superiority. Killed by super-long range weapon the Angels had never seen before plotted out specifically to kill it...

Things get kinda hard to pin down after that, but the Angels DO seem to learn.

But they adapt to what they learn slowly, and they seem to have little to no communication and cooperation abilities.
In contrast to your examples, we have, for instance, Shamshel, Gaghiel, Sandalphon and Maatriel, who were largely ineffectual, and in the case of the latter three, only lasted as long as they did thanks to the luck of the draw as far as circumstances in which they appeared.

But they were born of Adam, who was dormant since second impact.

For their level of strategy of form to make sense, they must be able to think and reshape their forms as they feel the need to, even if it does take weeks or months to make the changes. Thus they somehow observe the attempts of previous Angels, and learn from each others mistakes even if they do not cooperate directly.

But I have to wonder, to what extent are they learning, and to what extent is their gradual increase in capability simply a function of how long they've had to develop?
With the exception of a few outliers like Gaghiel and Maatriel, angels generally tend towards being stronger and stronger as the timeline advances, starting with Sachiel, who was vulnerable to mere N2 bombs, then advancing to Ramiel, who could take anything but directed energy beams concentrating terajoules of energy on a point, to Zeruel, who could shrug off every short of a berserk Eva and lopped off arms with the same beam weapons we've seen give Evas sunburn with previous angels.
Then we have Arael, who took the Lance to kill, and Armisael, who was so absurdly invulnerable to everything it took a suicide attack in the high megatons range to kill it.
And finally Tabris, who is flat out stated to have the strongest AT field by far, and who was only defeated by the Deus Ex Machina of Rei canceling his field with her own.

Not a set course, per se, but that's the hypothesis, yes.
More development time translating into exponentially more powerful angels.
Which goes quite a ways towards explaining why NERV is so eager to use children to pilot their superweapons, instead of waiting for them to mature, at the very least: they don't have confidence in their ability to put down the angels any later in the timeline.
As for why the angels come so obediently on schedule, my completely bullshit fanwank hypothesis is that what with Eva 00 being cloned from material from Adam, its life activation test was engineered to awaken the angels somehow, through some sort of technobabble-resonance-bullshit.

In simplest terms it is the barrier of the soul.
    Every creature has one.
Because the angels are of such pure form, their AT fields are almost impenetrable.

    >>9574914
Fluff-wise, it's "the light of the soul," and binds the soul to the body, and keeps other souls out. The angels have the physical and mental power output to make them physically tangible, functioning as a force field (think a while hole, except no so much gravitational).

What this means is that anything trying to get in has to overcome an absurdly steep gradient and still have enough energy to do damage once it's in. So basically, like trying to roll a bowling ball up a hill to hit pins on top.
What Evas do is equalize the battlefield to the point where more conventional arms than frikkin nukes can be effective, by generating their own AT field of equal or greater energy, thus making it so that they are basically rolling the metaphorical bowling ball from the same height or higher.

This fair accurately describes the fluff of the Neon Genesis Evangelion Absolute Terror Fields.

However, like much of the mythos, this is needlessly complicated by religious and psychological symbolism that can make running an Eva game very difficult.

In Adeptus Evangelion, the meaning of the AT Field is slightly changed.

Absolute Territory Fields are the angel that the angel creates around itself in which it is possible for the angel to exist. Angels clearly defy the laws of physics with their forms and powers, and it is their AT Field that allows this. They are effectively self-generating the very reality warp bubbles that make their extreme forms possible. Human AT Fields similarly define the edge of their own territory, but instead are much weaker and our forms are thus set as we lack the ability to influence it directly.

This description doesn't actually change the AT Fields abilities, but it is a description that many find easier to swallow.

My brain is inefficient tonight, so I'm going to be curt.

NERV Boston has been playing the games with all his players in person. There is a major discrepency in the reccommended 400 xp a session when there are much fewer actual sessions. Case in point, we just beat Bardiel and we only have 5200 exp. It would be wise to include suggestions of proper exp distributions per session depending on game situations.

Additionally, another optional rule that Boston uses is having Neutralize being a free action sustain, rather than having to spend half an action every turn re-neutralizing. Keeps things from bogging down and it's still possible to use all your tricks and talents even while on Neutralize duty.

He wanted me to pass this on, seeing as how Boston has quit 4Chan. Too distracted to read the whole thread, but I can refresh and answer any questions the team might have about the game and how we do things.

    Awesome.

Clarification on how the Integrated Wing Pistols work would be nice. Boston was skeptical when I described them as being able to make a full round Aim action on its own.

Also I found it kind of silly that Double Team for Pointmen got moved to the fourth or third rank (can't remember exactly which atm). That talent was INSANELY useful for most fights.

And both Boston and our OpsDir thought it was very silly for the marker light gunship to have only 20 BS.

That's all I can think of at this time. I don't really have access to any of the other players right now, annoyingly.

Both do come fairly quickly, and the benefit for Double Team is immense with multiple melee fighters that aren't berserkers.

The integrated weapon CAN aim for free, but you still have to wait the turn. And there's the whole thing with pistols maybe not being the strongest of weapons against a particularly tough Angel.

Integrated weapon: good to know. I'll see about cleaning that up.

Double Team: it was, simply put, TOO useful at its low rank. Sorry. It was a balance thing.

Markerlights auto hit now. Because seriously: its a laser pointer. missing with that is just goddamn embarrassing when your enemy is on average 40 meters tall.

Hrm. You guys know about Sahaquiel and our orbital assault pods then, eh?

I can't remember much of the Matariel fight, he was pretty easy. Biggest difficulty was his EMP attack which shut down half of the OpDirs missile turrets and killed all his VTOLs. The EMP got put on a recharge timer and by the time it had recharged, I was busy delegging it after its core had exploded from all the fists embedded in it. Despite the Pointman (myself) getting knocked down and drooled on a couple times, the fight was over very quickly.

So quickly, in fact, that Boston decided to throw us at Jet Alone. The giant robot, rather than being solely a Japanese invention, was instead a product of NERV-Nevada, the Eva testing grounds. After initial activation, Jet Alone apparently decided it was an Angel and began walking cross country to Boston. The four of us were deployed as Eva sized roadblocks and engaged the poor bastard.

The fight wasn't too hard, Jet Alone losing an arm once it went into the criticals. Biggest surprise was that it had an AT field, which was confusing because the big guy is supposed to be a robot. We found out why this was when I grappled JA to hold it still and Evan (the berserker) removed its chest armor.

Turns out they had taken the head and spinal cord of an Eva, plugged an entry plug into it, and then wired it into JA. Not a bad idea, really. Evan went to pull out the plug (as JA flailed and fired its hard-point bolter ineffectually), but messed up, accidently breaking it in half and dropping it.

Pilot survived the fall and Boston had us all make Awareness tests. Only myself and Sunny (our AT Specialist) succeeded. We both saw that the pilot looked exactly like me. Seeing as how I'm a clone that hadn't told anyone else about my situation, Sunny was confused. Even more so when I squished the copy with my hand.

    "I slipped, sir."

David (me) has a thing about wanting to be the only version of himself in existence.

Conventional forces and turrets are powerful when used properly but most Angels can destroy them in just a single use of Angel Cross.

Furthermore, most late game angels have 50+ Toughness and very good Armor. The new and improved Zeruel laughs at conventional forces for instance, being literally untouchable.

The new 'Swarm' body type Angels (think of a flying core as the hivemind for a bunch of separate creatures) also prove very tough to damage for most kinds of attacks and conventional forces will rarely deal double digits to it.

Bottom line, my assessment is that they are fine, being very useful early to mid game but having difficulty to keep up after that.

...giving them Accurate is a possibility that could be explored in these final days of development.

Okeydoke. Iruel was... different. Firstly we did our normal weekly training, then Boston had us tell him where our characters would be on a typical Thursday night. Toblarone (our fat sniper) was missing completely since his player couldn't make the session. The character snuck out of America to visit the world's first cheesecake factory with his girlfriend. The rest of us were scattered about the city. Sunny down in the skatepark hanging with her friends. David and Evan watching a movie in the common room of their dorm. And Rashiid (the OpsDir) hanging out in a bar with Solomon, the chief scientist.

There was no Angel alert, just a random guy walking awkwardly toward Sunny and her pals with an odd note to his voice. Neither she nor the NPCs had any idea what was going on, but when a couple guys tried to push the man around, they suddenly decided to give him a hand and help him walk after Sunny.

Yep. Iruel had become a plague.

After fleeing toward the van that Rashiid always sent to follow her, she decided to evac to NERV HQ and get in her Eva. Clearly this was an Angel attack.

At the same time, David and Evan had some minor hijinks involving some guards, a zombie (everyone rolled INT checks to call them zombies), and a keycard to the door locks which the zombie learned how to use. Frightening stuff at the time. Knowing Rashiid's propensity for VTOLs, the two pilots called one in for an emergency evac to base, with Evan tugging along /his/ girlfriend, the creepy insane girl Rebecca.

Well, presumably, all you'd really need is a core, a soul, and a mind constructed to think it's that vehicle. The last one is the only real issue.

I think I've heard of using it like that before.

Maybe it should become a full recommended option for using Iruel. It'd be nice to have a solid basis for a personal-scale threat rather than just saying that there are terrorists.

David and Evan make it back to base quite easily, getting to watch packs of zombies stagger about the streets infecting people with a touch. Sunny was having a harder time though, what with the traffic congestion and all. The guard driving the van failed horribly, crashing about half way to NERV and leaving the pilot and several other guards to hoof it to a clear intersection to radio in a chopper. Cue defending a ring of cars from zombies that suddenly learned how to sprint and they weren't having a fun time. They held out long enough to get evac'd though.

Rashiid and Solomon meanwhile were in a crowded bar when shit went down. Said bar quickly became full of zombies as a single woman came in the door and started touching people and passing it on. He got some text messages from almost all the pilots talking about zombies and the news, so he figured out what was up pretty quickly. And since he never went around unarmed, he decided to shoot some zombies while dragging Solomon out the back.

They make it to their car, do some fancy driving, and get to a launch port, taking the fast way down into NERV.

Now that everyone was in base, the real fight could begin. Or not. All three Evas deployed and started hunting for the Angel, since the scanners just saw a big blue cloud over all of Boston.

Luckily enough David managed to walk in the right direction to find the slowly forming Iruel, which was little more than a core surrounded by orange goop. It was made of people, people that were controlled and directed to run into the goop and tang. What followed was one of the silliest fights ever, with Iruel being unable to do anything but bounce around while the Evas hacked at it.

It died, managed to not explode, and the day was saved again!

...well, the day was saved for everyone except those ten thousand people that died. Most of them from when Rashiid had his VTOLs open fire on a huge crowd trying to break into the cargo elevator.
