    >I'm really not enjoying this when I start setting my mind to writing, so I'm taking us back to the end of part 15. All that occurred in Parts 16 and 17 has been removed.

You wait with a start, sweating slightly in the rather cool night air. Six lies next to you, undisturbed by your commotion and snoring lightly like she always does. You feel like you've had a rather vivid nightmare, but you can't exactly remember what it was about.

The moonlight streams in through the open windows in Six's home on the surface of Utopia. Its been a mere two weeks since you've settled down planetside, and Nineteen and Two are still taking up residence with you. Two tends to sleep on the couch on nights like this, while Nineteen has taken up spending the warm nights in a tent outside. Though its rather plush for a tent, you get the feeling that she enjoys being close to nature.

Do you wish to do anything tonight while you are up? Or go back to sleep?

Cam stirs quietly inside your head before projecting himself into the corner of your room. A neat trick made possible by messing around with your perception senses.

His blue form glows slightly as he bows and summons a virtual chair to take a seat. "Not sleeping well? Something I don't usually have to deal with, thank goodness. Though it does get rather lonely with all that time on my hands."

You are Hannah. Also known as H.A.N.A. <A13> or simply as Thirteen, you are the product of Terran Empire biotechnology and designed to act as a living ship controller interface and as a substitute to Artificial Intelligence.

The planet you are on now is home to a remnant of humanity that did not enter the Void - they've pretty much stayed inside their small section of space and haven't left it since.

Long story short, you are part of a remnant of humanity that mostly vanished 2000 years ago. You personally have rather friendly relationships with the Seekers, part of a trispecies alliance that has gained spaceflight mainly through reverse-engineered human technology. There is a Seeker splinter faction that is anti-human, and they tried to assault you when you last left Seeker space to find an old friend of yours - Six.

Nineteen you picked up as a ghost in a wrecked computer and she acquired a body when two early AI (from when Humanity was dabbling in creating them) killed each other. Two became your friend after you forced your way inside her head (literally hacking her) and talked to her in that fashion.

Cam is a Seeker-made AI that has taken up residence inside your implants - he's rather friendly.
    >> Researcher Sam 05/22/10(Sat)22:05 No.9992444
Okay, long and short of it is this: We're a human that's able to interface with ship systems. About 2000 years ago, Humanity made us because they didn't trust AIs. Humanity went genocide on the first alien speciest they made contact with. However, as a last act of defiance, they unleashed some kind of spore/plague that started to hit our colonies. Because of this, the Terran High Command had everyone evacuate into Heaven's Gate, a pocket dimension where people would go into cryostasis. Now, constantly killing while interfacing with ships does something to a HANA's mind, and our friend, Nineteen, went a little crazy, threatening to kill all of humanity. We convinced her to just walk away, but the human fleet followed us and managed to destroy our ship, causing use to go into stasis while our destroyed ship crashed into the planet below.

Since that chunk of material, you've found a physical body for Nineteen [Pictured], befriended <B2>, found Six acting as part of the military of a human remnant on Utopia, as well as Nickolai Strauss, who designed your implants and worked on the HANA project.

(Crap, our friend was Six, not Nineteen.)

2000 years later, we wake up since the ship has run out of power. We manage to keep going for a couple of hours before our ship, which had fallen into an ocean, was dredged up by aliens known as the Seekers. They proved friendly, and we decided to work with them to find Six, who we believed to have escaped the battle. We had a few adventures, eventually finding the HANAs Nineteen and Two. Eventually, we found Six, and this planet, Utopia, settled by the remnants of the fleet sent to stop us and Six 2000 years ago. They'd gotten over it, and we decided to take a small break, crashing at Six's place.
    >> Researcher Sam 05/22/10(Sat)22:13 No.9992547
    >>9992473
Now that we've found Six? Probably try to convince the faction of the Seekers who view humanity as trouble that we're not going to kill them. Maybe go to Heaven's gate to wake up humanity. Though seeing as how that went the first time.... might be better to just kill them all.

Currently you are just taking it easy, but in the long term there is:

-Haven Gate: The entrance to the void that Old Humanity locked themselves behind. You don't know whether to free them, leave them, or simply destroy the gate - trapping them.

-Seeker/Human relations: Humans reemerging on the galactic plane is a scary thought for some people, as Humanity dominated before their fall 2000 years ago. Nickolai seeks Humanity's "redemption" for their past actions with an alien species, and wants to start communication with the other races.

-Two: Find her a wig. Because she's bald.

    >>9992716
Well, the first species may have communicated by forcefully mutating human colonists and merging with them so that they could hear their hivemind..... But they were benevolent and honestly not aware of what they were doing, since their way of thinking was completely alien to humanity's.
    >> Supernova !FzAyW.Rdbg 05/22/10(Sat)22:25 No.9992773
    >>9992716
They were afraid of loosing Humanity's genetic purity. Since the alien race communicated by first merging physically with another species, they feared that Humanity would become a race of hybrids if they set up relationships. It was a bad first contact incident on part of the aliens.

    So Humanity purged 'em.

You lie back down and drift off to sleep only to be awakened roughly in the morning by Nineteen, who keeps up with her morning ritual of jumping on your bed.

Six kicks her off rather quickly and quietly gets dressed in something other than a military issued bodysuit. Hell, its so nice to wear real clothes for once.

You link up to the planet's network to find that Nickolai Strauss has left you a message.
"Hannah. We've been trying to put together a sort of delegation in the last couple of weeks to try and make contact with the Seekers. Thanks to the assistance of your Captain Thal'tek and his crew, we believe we might be ready. Since you are already familiar with the Seeker ruling body, would you kindly join our delegation?"

"Already? Well then... I'll summon a ride."

You head downstairs and notify a rather comfy looking Two - who merely nods at your appearance - and a boisterous Nineteen that you'd appreciate it if they came with you to establish relations with the Seekers.

Nineteen frowns slightly and folds her arms. "Do you really want to go back so soon? Space is rather cold, you know."

The current controlling faction in the Seeker Council is pro-humanity, but recently there has been a resurgence of a violent splinter group within the Seeker Council that seeks to defend them from the "genocidal humans" at any cost. This came to a peak when they commandeered five Destroyers and attempted to stop you from leaving the Assura system. You simply jumped past them.

I don't know the details (could we have destroyed them?).

But we can work with this. We could tell them that instead of being violent we decided to avoid conflict as much as possible, truly that speaks in favour for humans

Nineteen puts on some more close fitting clothing for the trip, and picks a few sunflowers from the garden to take along with her.

Two merely waits next to you until a shuttle arrives and Six charges down the stairs. "I'm flying! Outta the way!"

You shrug as Nineteen picks out a window seat and you prepare yourself for a rendezvous with your old ship. Nickolai has decided to use it since it was originally made by the Seekers, so it would be polite to return on it.

A short trip later and you're walking on the familiar metal deck of the Sixseeker. Come to think of it, it needs a new name now. Your group heads to the bridge to find Captain Thal'tek in a lively discussion with the aging Nickolai Strauss, who is leaning heavily on Jen. She nods at your approach and taps Strauss on the shoulder, who turns his blind eyes instinctively in your direction.

    "Hello? Have they finally arrived?"

Thal'tek turns to you and salutes, the silver captain bars embedded in his black shoulders glistening in the rather cold recycled air.
