01/06/11(Thu)22:58 No.13425397>>13425336 Alien stuff is tricky. Space Marines sell, and they actually sell very well as sci-fi novels go. BL has, in the past, been very cautious about xenos jazz. That's thawing a lot now, though. But even a few years ago, I said "I want to write an eldar novel" and the answer was "No, Gav is doing one."
And yeah, Path of the Warrior is a trilogy, I think.
>>13425278 Throne of Lies. Hm. I describe it like this:
"I'm... proud of it. But you can tell I'd never done audio before. It reviews well, and I like the end result, but at several points I just do this painful full-body tense at certain lines that really weren't written to be spoken aloud. In prose, they read fine. Out loud, it's a bit purple."
It was fun, though.
And in all honesty, ta for picking it up, especially on my birthday. That's sort of awesome.
>>13425334 I'd love to, but take that a step further and look at the end result. /tg/ would fill up with people annoyed that I'd used the idea / used it in a bad way / wasn't the author they'd wanted to use it, etc. Joking aside, fucking with /tg/ canon is like pissing on sacred ground. There's a Vindicare assassin in my Grey Knights novel, and for ages I was thinking "LIIVI... Just call him LIIVI..."
But that'd be blasphemy.
That said, I do have an idea for how to show the Angry Marines. Subtle, like. Plausible deniability is key. |
