    >sorry about not showing up yesterday, life happens and "I promised the internet I'd be somewhere" doesnt really fly all that well.

You look up from the scrawl in the ground beneath your tent, much to your surprise, the tentflap parts to reveal a brilliant red sunrise, opened by the wind. Whats more surprising is the light revealing Daeseu, leaning against your armor rack, a quizical look on his face. "You were searching for me yesterday, commander. I took the liberty of coming to speak with you last night, but found you too deep in meditation to rouse. Kyria stopped through several times to wipe the sweat from your brow, but fear not, she has no knowledge of my having joined your band. What is it you wanted?"

"A bit of work, and the urge to have a genuine conversation with my newest recruit." you reply, shakily rising to your feet to retrieve the arrow, and toss it to the assassin "Do you happen to know what group fletches their arrows as this one is?".

"Sadly, this is the mark of a free-blade I am not familiar with, and since I am no longer a memeber of the Bleak Ravens, I cannot speak with my informants, nor use our Manor Archives to find such information out." the elf plucks the arrow from the sky as he speaks "Though, with a proper disguise I would be able to see if my... man, in Dyrons Ford knows the colors."

"This man in Dyrons Ford" you ask, dropping onto your stool, and wondering why Daeseu hasn't claimed your other stool yet "How good of a disguise would you need to get to him?"

"You see, he is in the Lords court, both he, Lord Dyron, and several others hired me enough times that they know all of my quiet entrances, due to their dilligance, not my fault, mind you. In addition to that, they know my gait, my face, my voice." the elf chuckles "Like any wise man who even sporadically works with an assassin would do, truly. As sure as one who does employ a blade would always hire the same, so that such traits only need to be learned once. So, to answer your question, e very, very damned good disguise." the elf finally moves to your second stool, his motions fluid and effortless, "That said, I am rather curious as to just what you would like to converse with an assassin about."

    >no assassin guild in Degnar

"I was curious as to your history, aside from that at some point you were inducted into one of the most prestigious assassin guilds in Uurlanth. Though I am curious as to what put you in such disfavor that you fear for your life." you reply, your hand finding a jug of water on the table, recently melted, judging by the relatively small amount of ice crystals in the vessel.

"I do not remember my parents, I was a street urchin in BleakGate during my youth. By the time I was of age, I was well on my way to becoming some criminal lords knife, but a chance encounter with a member of the Ravens during what would have proved my worth to said crime lord. The woman took me back to the Orders Manor after she slew my mark."

You take a sip of the icy water, its chill soothing your parched throat as you swallow "Untrained you nearly matched a member of the Bleak Ravens?" you ask more steadily with a moistened throat.

The assassin chuckles "No, she was on her Proving, and though a beauty, was slain before my education finished. I spent the next ten years of my life climbing the ranks of the Bleak Ravens, learning things neither books nor the alleys of the city that birthed me could." Daeseu sighs "Then I had the misfortune of supporting a man for the orders new Master who lost his bid. I was assigned several doomed marks, and was forced to cut my way out of more than a few disadvantageous situations. Such superfluous killing is very much frowned upon, due to how it effects the orders reputation, from there..." the elf trails off, pouring himself a drink from the jug as well.

In enough time for you to pry your sweaty garments from your body and wash some of the top layer of it from your face and forearms, Sansa enters your tent "Justinian, we have collected and prepared everything of value from this city, and will be ready to light it ablaze and depart when you are prepared for us to do so." she informs you, dropping into your cot as you splash more water across your face before beginning to dress.

You stay curled up with Sansa for a while longer until eventually it is too late in the morning for you to still be sleeping. After an hour the maniple is on the move, two more and you are across the river. An hour after that you can see three towers, and have a report from your scout riders that the towers are still at their normal garrison.

I assume if we split up, the group that will go to create our cache will have to dig manually. To do that within a decent amount of time, that would require a lot of units. If we went with the group creating the cache, would we need less units and how many if so?

Alternatively, perhaps we should just crush the towers first and then go across the river to bury our cache. That'll let our men rest at the same time as hiding our loot.

That's what I assumed as well. I was just wondering how many units we'd need to bring along to carry the loot and all so we can settle that in a reasonable time frame. For instance, would ourselves and one unit be enough or would we need three? Just wanted to get a ball park estimate on that so we had an idea on how much we could split our force.

Unless people rather we just smash the towers before crossing and hiding loot.

Look, on the while cache idea: We're not going to acquire enough loot in the next couple days that we'll run out of transport space, nor will we need the mobility so badly that we can't afford to have it with us. When the main Legion gets here we might well be able to start cashing things in through the supply train. The whole thing might be unnecessary. Let's just smash some more towers and keep the stuff with us for now.

You can see the silver bannerpole the Lord Commander had been awarded with before the unit, though another standard distracts you from the shining series of numerals. a jet black gauntleted right fist, the thumb in crimson, and fingers outlined in gold - the second praetorians right fist, his finest commanders, and the best soldiers in the Empire, save the Emperors Chosen. A neatly ordered group of gryphons circles above the unit at the center of the columns tip, the unit from whence the fist protrudes, to either side of the gryphons a unit of pegasi, all of them in coated in black fur, though the gold-enameled armor of all three units brightly offsets the deep shade of their mounts.

A lone figure rides out from the head of the column, his plate armor a deep crimson, the traced form of a dragon covering the entirety of the suit, on e of the highest honors the empeoror can bestow upon a man. "Commander Trentz, your reputation proceeds you." the man greets you, saluting and extending a hand "Though I am curious as to what you are doing so far from your objective, when your words had the 2nd order me to re-direct his entire Right Fist to this front."

"I'll have your scouts report then." the man replies, motioning for you and your retinue to ride alongside him. As blackbird repeats what he told you, and answered a few questions you had not asked, you slide the crystal from your pocket, you direct it at the High Commander before you, and are shocked at the intensity and shade it shifts to, not any of the elemental colors, nor the radiant white of a mage, sickly green-yellow pall of a necromancer or deep purple of a mystic, rather, this mans pressence causes the stone to absorb light, casting the space between the two of you into deep shaddows. >yea I accelerated the timeline on you, sorry, but it was starting to get kinda repetitive...
    >someone archive please
    >I'll be back Wednesday at 9pm server time

    >... he doesnt have undead hordes with him, just soldiers. Blackbird told you he had warriors, and Neshai told you that it was highly unlikely that whomever was planning on raising the dead was very likely not ready to act yet.
    >however, thanks for archiving, and I apologize iuf I worded things in such a way that you though the King did in fact have the undead with him

For the last fucking time, people, it's the LORDFATHERS, the fucking cult infiltrating everyone, that has the necromancers, not the Urlanthi army.

Yeah...that's what it sounded like, with Blackbird's 'roused the unrousable' line.

But the Lordfathers are known to have designs on the Uurlanthi nobility, and appear to have usurped the Stant House.
Wouldn't it make sense for them to offer the king their services just as an Imperial Legion is about to invade the Uurlanthi homeland?

No. Unless I missed my guess, they're going to try and simultaneously spring that shit on everyone and take over everything.

    That's just one possible scenario.
Until they're ready with a full undead army, there's no way to know if they won't provide support to other factions in other ways.
