Well, I don't know how they work in 4e, but in AD&D gelatinous cubes just held items and equipment inside of them. As for wearing armor and using weapons, they're really sticky so you could just stick armor to it and it can regurgitate it as it sinks in.

Of course it would be excellent. Who DOESN'T want to form a party to save the world with a sentient cube of gelatin?

Anyone have that pic of the cube with "It says it wants to help us defeat the lich"?

The armor floating inside of it works. While you can cut/smash/pierce the cube, you can only do so until your weapon hits the armor. So it takes "wounds" on its peripheral bits, but is never being outright cleaved in half or smashed.

It gets hurt still, but that can be remedied later, so long as there's still a centralized bit of cube left that's not...well...a puddle by the end of an encounter.

But if you take FA: Humanoid (Elf), you can find the weakpoints of an Elf, but Orcs just baffle the hell out of you with their alien anatomy.

"Gelatinous" is a colloid quality. I don't think solid is its direct opposite, since it has qualities of both solid and liquid.

I think plasma or ethereal spheres work better. They have the same qualities as something gelatinous, but are something that you cannot touch, and therefore something that cannot be hugged for its squishiness and be loved.

It only compounds with the fact that spheres already cannot know love.

That's because monks are a shitty class. There are easier ways of getting an unarmed attack without gimping yourself.

I like it. Making armor and artifacts out of acidic Jelly, maybe finding a way to harden them and such.

Truly, a formidable warrior, is the man who uses every part of his body to fight the enemy.

Especially when it is jelly, and eats through the enemy.

Gentlemen. There is an enemy out there, and he is a fearsome one.

We've heard rumors of their coming for generations, and dismissed them as such. Fools that we were. Now they trample our lands, rolling through our fields, absorbing our women and children!

They expected us to simply collapse into a puddle, rather than face them head on. But they were wrong! As I speak, our forces are meeting theirs on the planes in fierce combat!

Join me now, brothers! Help me take back this land from those accursed spheres! Join with me, for our homeland, for our lives, for our honor!
