You know what I think would be a good game? A Card Game based on Rogue Trader. You play as a trading house and you attach starships to your stable of Rogue Traders (and other explorers) which they use to succeed in endevours to gain yet more profit factor. You can stymie your opponents by playing Ork Raiders, Eldar Pirates, Imperial Navy cargo inspections, Inqusitors and the like on them, and succeeding in actions would either be based around the d100 system simplified down to a d10 mechanic OR you would discard cards from your hands in a similar method to how Vampire the Masquerade CCG works.

But enough about that, back to Zeonquest.

You are Commander David Lister, ace mobile suit pilot for the Principality of Zeon and CO of the elite Nachtmaren Unit. You are currently embroiled in a siege at Side 4, a battle that may detirmine the fate of Zeon.

    LAST TIME ON ZEONQUEST

"Quickly flanking around to avoid detection, and before the enemy can redeploy, you strike quickly and decisively at the enemy snipers before they can spot you.

You move in close, for a kill that won't attract attention. With your beam saber drawn you spot and kill an enemy with it's back to you.
Zol takes out another with his Gundam hammer, but Zol being Zol, the GM Sniper explodes rather impressively.
There goes your surprise advantage. You begin to weave from cover to cover searching for the final sniper. You actions save your life as a ruby line slices cleanly through space you had just occupied. The three of you begin to close in on where the shot came from before your target fired from. But at that point, the GM Strikers mob you, to try and stop you from doing this. They come in over a piece of covering terrain giving you little time to react. The three of them attempt to gang up on you alone so as to stand the best chance of taking you out.
Your GM shield takes bullets one of them fires at you as he advances, you spin away from the seconds lunging charge leaving you in an excellent position for the thirds charge. However his angle of attack is comprehensively thrown by having a Beam Lance tossed through him sideways by Zolomon. What's left of the enemy is flung sideways.

You see an Elmeth bit dash too and fro in front of you before firing. There's a shower of sparks and an impressive fuel explosion where the beam hits a piece of broken ship at an angle.

A red beam shoots past your head from close range. From that self-same piece of terrain if your any judge. Evidently the bits fire had put the enemy sniper off target.
Elaine begins to shoot at the now located target with her own beam rifle. But you have your own problems to deal with as the other two GM Strikers are coming in for a second attack. This time however, Zolomon is close by, and the Bits are beginning to craze about you.

    You counter-charge."

Engaged on both sides, you charge forwards, giving the enemy little time to coordinate and work together. Your Beam Saber drawn, you knock aside the enemies beam spear, it sprays you with bullets from it's head vulcans in response. You counter, jamming your shield into the enemies neck. His bullets bounce of the shield and you return fire with your arm mounted Beam Spray Pistol. Normally not an attack that causes much damage, from this close range even the weak beam gun fitted in your arm proves lethal. Slagging GM Strikers torso block. You pull back to avoid the explosion and then turn to face the other. You barely manage to parry his charge and are forced backwards into a piece of debris. Despite the impact your beam sabers stay locked with each other, sending sparks fizzing across the two of you.

Bullets from your head vulcans spit at each other from close range as your GM shield, knocked loose by the impact, continues to float gently away.
You chest armour holds, but your Nacht-Zaku's head starts to record a growing litany of injures on your computer. Zolomons Gundam Hammer slamms at full speed into the side of the enemy, knocking him away from you, breaking the clinch. Although he seems badly damaged, the Mobile Suit still appears to be mobile. Evidently the additional armour of the GM Striker has kept him alive this time.
Moving out from your indentation in the large piece of debris, you pull out your Beam Rifle and charge after the wounded enemy before he can recover.
Now badly wounded, his MG fire is erratic and woefully off target, your return fire is not.

Elaine to your left continues her assault on the enemy Sniper, her constant harrassment eventually bearing fruit, allowing one of Nells bits to finish the enemy off.

The enemy Strikers and Snipers appear to have been taken out. Leaving the continuing battle between the GM's and your Heavy MS Companies.

In the middle of battle might not be the best time to ask this but... Were any Gigans being built in space and being shipped down to Earth? There seemed to be a fair number of them both in Odessa and at California Base. It'd be relatively easy to swap their wheels for thruster tanks.

Not really, most Gigan manufacture occurred in California, New York and Peking. Any working examples of the Gigan in space would be found, if anywhere, in Pezun, given as they developed that mobile suit there.

    >>14286401

Actually fans and Jervis are still working on improving BFG. Only recently updated lists for various fleets finally finished the drafting process, and update might well be in the works.

Although in my mind, any correspondance between Jervis and fans of this game is done in a similar process to CIA agents getting information across the iron curtain.

However, the point of the CCG concept was that you weren't a Rogue Trader, but rather the head of the Trading house with many rogue traders as a part of his mighty guild. So things would be a little distant. Endevours like securing a trade route would take so many turns (or possibly successful tests) and would then start to generate Profit Factor for you, which you could use to buy ships and other stuff.

Also, different endevours would also give you prestige, and points in various things (like smuggling xenotech weapons would also give points in Xenos, Cold Trade and Heretech. Whilst supplying a Shrine world would counter net you points in Faith and Prestige etc etc.) and if you have enough of these things you would eligable to high more prestigious Rogue Traders and Explorers, or eligable to get investigated by the Inquisitor or the Navy.

the Head has taken some damage, a couple of the sensors are offline (IR at least appears to be offline) Your long range comms laser has been knocked out of alignment, although you could probably compensate for that with a few minutes work from your cockpit. That appears to be the extent of the damage.

You quickly manage to salvage the GM shield without problems and call for a damage report from your other wingmen. Zolomon reports no problems, and Elane reports no major damage, but that she is low on ammo from harrassing the enemy sniper.

You sweep into the enemy GM's from the rear. Already, Balls are beginning to filter into the combat zone, but it's matter of too little, too late. Backed up by allied Zaku's the remaining Rick Dom's of the Heavy Company appear to have boxed the enemy in through weight of numbers. The three of you carefully infiltrate the area, you spot an enemy GM moving quickly between cover, you signal to Zolomon to outflank him, and for Elaine to watch your backs as you advance to take the enemy by suprise.

Taking cover in the lee of a large asteroid chunk, it's luck that he happens to notice you before you can get too close. You dodge the first attack he makes with his Beam pistol, and return fire with your own Beam rifle. He attempts to block with his shield, but this is a futile effort as your attack burns clean through the shield and severs his arm at the shoulder. His ownly long range beam weapon floats away with it. He attempts to flee, but mid dash he's caught in a trio of lightning fast shots, there's a blur you recognise to be Zolomon making a high speed pass, and the GM explodes.

You turn back to check on Elaine. You see her roll over, thrusting backwards to avoid a pair of enemy GM's, firing her own Beam Rifle in response to their attacks.
You immiediately swing back to deal with this new threat. Concentrating on Elaine as they are, they don't notice you moving forwards. The first hint they have of your advance is when your Beam Rifle takes one out. The other to his credit, realises the position he's in and attempts to flee. But his reaction is panicked, and Elaine takes the inititive, dealing a fatal blow to the last GM.

You regroup a few minutes later.

"There's some Balls moving in en-masse from the sides, but without the GM's to help them, I don't think they're going to be much of threat. I think the friendlies have the rest of this fight well in hand. I've already seen several Zaku's beginning to encircle the enemy."
    Zolomon reports.

"You think those three we took out were the rearguard?" Elaine asks.

    "Most likely" you reply.

"You think we should circumvent the fighting and just return to the Outer Heaven?" Zolomon asks you.

"I think they've got the matter well in hand." Elaine states.

It's a bit weird how they go all "7 catapults not enough!" for a carrier with 182 MS in it, considering how many catapults a Nimitz class (4) has vs number of planes (90ish). Not like Mobile Suits spend a whole lot of fuel just hanging around in space around the carrier compared to fighters on earth.

Would make a bit more sense to complain about the ridicilous mega particle cannons all over that thing (instead of say, several beam spray cannon arrays).

That's one of the major problems with the design. The Dolos has massive firepower but terrible firing coverage. It's got twice the number of cannons of a Gwazine but is totally unable to direct them all at one target, since they're all broadsides.

That and it has nonexistent AA defenses, but I suppose with that many MS it doesn't really need very much. Still, a single machine gun turret for the entire ship is downright pitiful.

Thing is, in space you can just have say 20 of them hang around ontop/bottom of the ship and another 20 gliding along through space on the energy the catapult launch provided without spending any fuel at all.

Why the fuck would a 100+ MS carrier have them all stored inside unless its doing wicked drafting around the moon or something? Not like it would be opperating alone either, parked inside a fleet of 20 Musais its pretty damn safe no matter what its MS compliment is doing.

Just look at how our current fight is going, 4+ hours spent and our ships are quite safe, you telling me a fat ass Dolos couldn't have launched all its MS by now?

I apologised on 4chan got it right though, Minovsky particles or not (you can tell if those are increasing ahead of time), with a huge ship like the Dolos-class you don't run them up alone in close combat like a Pegasus-class (or is that White Base?) on its own.

And as I've already said, you can solve the issue with lack of catapults the Federation way, by strapping half your suits on the outside of the ship.

    Right.

Skirting around the worst of the combat, you decide to head back. Circling to your right seems the safer option as Balls are still filtering through to your left, although whether they'll stop at some point when they realise that they're operating alone is unknown.
You'd imagine so though, even the Federation aren't that willing to just throw pilots away for no reason.

It takes roughly 10 to 15 minutes to finally reach the Outer Heaven, stationed at the engineering company. Which has become a rallying point for squads in need of repairs.

Once inside you see that Option and Rance made it all right. Heavy work is being done on both of their Mobile Suits. You see the two of them drinking from sealed water bottles as you dismount. Neither one seems injured.

You talk to Ookawara about the state of your mobile suits.

"It's getting pretty bad, luckily the Supply ships got numerous spare parts aboard, which has been a real boon. But even were getting pretty pushed at the moment. Rance's Zaku is going to take at least two more hours to fix, Options Shield is a finicky job that's at least an hour, and I haven't even looked at you guys yet. None of which factors any mechanicals that the Elmeth has picked up... prototypes are notoriously high maintenence as I'm sure we all remember."

"Would trying to nab more engineers from other vessels help? Most of Blue Battalions ships are simply twiddling their thumbs at the moment."
    You ask.

"It's also a question of Hangar space, which is at a premium everywhere at the moment. Will make do with what we've got, but if you want something prioritised, make sure to tell me..."

The current state of battle looks like this.

Well, if there is another incoming wave, then yes, the plan is unfeasible.

But I think that a high-speed strike against the half of the enemy force still waiting to enter the debris field could still inflict worthwhile enemy casualties, and with the necessary slowing down of the enemy advance through the debris field, we can still get back to our line before contact is made between our defensive line and the advance elements of the Fed force.

The little stuff we may just have to deal with, vs. just slapping fresh armor plates in where we can and calling it good.

While we're there, let's at least work on that comm laser ourselves and see if we can't get it back into alignment. And Rance is probably out of this one unless we can get a lull in. That hit just totaled his suit.

See if anyone's got any spare suits at this point that are lacking a pilot? We've got a man, just not a machine to ride.

Also, consider in a pinch swapping a GM shield in for the damaged one on Option. Less firepower, but it'll at least give him some functional protection.

CHECK ON NELL. Combat fatigue for a kid is a serious concern, and if she's out there for much longer, we're gonna need to get her in for at least a little naptime. In fact, we might want her to do a quick bit sweep and return to the OH and bunk down for at least an hour or two, get some food, and get out of that Elmeth long enough to stretch.

You order in Nell as well. She gives her ETA as 20 minutes.

In the meantime, Ookawara comes back with a diagnosis on your three Mobile Suits.

"Well, you've taken some nasty knocks to the head, and various other parts of the body are showing combat fatigue, luckily you haven't taken and major hits. Even the Shield is holding up pretty well. Zolomon is showing no major damage, although he's getting through those Beam Lances fairly quickly... man, tell him to use the beam guns in his shield more, it's what it's there for after all. Elaine's got some persistant scorchmarks and some large caliber bullet holes that's going to take a little time to patch up, but it looks like there's no major damage. Overall, I'd say it'd take us about 30 minutes to get all of your suits up an running. Plus the times I gave for the other two."

    >>14288145 again this is my crazy plan for >>14287943

    ...okay?

Well, first off, the original plan called for pushing the asteroid big enough to use as cover towards the fleet and use those as cover. Of course, it'll just get chewed up by missiles/lasers/what-have-you as soon as they see it, so that's a no go.

Then I remembered we have Elmeth/Railgun sniper pair with Nell/Jolyne. So:

    Nel/Jo/anybody else people can spare - Engage the fleet from the side with distraction while;

Everyone else - Start pushing Asteroids. As many and as quick as can be sent there.

With any luck(I.E. Apologise's prerogative) the fleet would be busy with dealing shit on two side to really worry about the ship shooting the asteroid, and let the GMs handle them.

Hopefully GM-4 and GM-5 are with them.

    cont.
    >> Anonymous 03/18/11(Fri)17:27 No.14288187
    >>14288181

So 2nd phase of the plan involves engaging the MS sent to clear those asteroids(hopefully). Since we're using those as cover, afterall.

If the two Gundams are there, we try and kill them off OR steal the suit/gun(I'm more inclined to steal the gun...I just want to use it once, anyway.) Otherwise, keep dealing with the MS until we're near enough of those ships to engine-kill them. And then take care of the AA gun/missile, whatever defense that ship has.

If they concentrate fire on us, they'll be wide open for Sniper Jo and Elemth bits to be picked apart, so hopefully between that and semi-meta plot armor, we can get this part done.

Hopefully, we kept the whole fleet busy, that they don't notice a matte-black painted ship rushing to the ship we just disabled. Hopefully, we can keep the whole fleet busy for the Dragoons inside that crippled ship to take it over and get us ourselves hostages.

By then it's a simple matter of broadcasting we have ourselves PoWs and demand they back off. If that plan falls use that ship as cover as we ride back to the debris field and mine that fucker up. Push it back to the fleet, and detonite the mines inside(after stealing every peice of GM rifle/shields/whathave you.)

Is it crazy? yes. Is it standard Nachtmaren fare. Not the part about taking hostages, no. But hey, we're down to the wire and we need to pull a bullshit plan through.

Just hope to Thor it works. Any ideas?

Not to mention the massed Beam Cannons on all of the Salamis as well as the Pegasus carriers is more than enough to deal with any asteroids sent their way.
Our Dragoons are back at Grenada and possibly some at Solomon; it would take them hours to get here, assuming that a straight lasercomm network relay is still available to get back to them.
Finally, you underestimate the willingness of Federation crews to overload their engines, self-destruct their ship, or otherwise fight to the last man at this late stage in the OYW.

    1)If we can mine the debris field(I thought last thread we said we'd mine the right...or was it left?....part of the field) so we'd be sure no one can use that part...except for Sniper Jo who'd be there, of course...and the Elmeth...Everyone else who wants to join in on the long range distraction would have to be using the other side. But the Balls. Balls everywhere situtation has got me doubting that'd work, so;

2)If we can't seed the field with mines then those shuttles would do in a pinch for Dragoon shuttles...BTW, is there any chance we think vertically? This is space after all, so we:

    a)paint one shuttle matte black;
    b)have it filled with dragoons;
    c)tell it to go OVER the debris field;
d)wait 'till we've cleared the debris field outselves and started the distraction...

As it's been pointed out before, we don't have our Dragoons with us. They're chilling in Grenada or Pezun so they're nowhere near us.

And how is painting a shuttle black going to make it any harder to spot? We haven't relied on line-of-sight based warning systems since World War I. Without the cover of the debris the shuttle is just going to get shot out of the sky. And that's even assuming we can get the whole thing painted in a few hours, which is time and resources better spent on reparing mobile suits.

Even if we did have the Dragoons, the last time they executed a boarding action against a Pegasus, they took over 70% casualties. They can't take and hold a ship effectively.

Okay, about 10 minutes into the repair work you have Zolomon sortie for short range patrols around the ship. Around this point you receive word from the colonies that the cargo vessels loaded with space mines are ready and are being launched. You can expect the operation to begin in about half an hour. At this time, the engineering Zaku's will not be able to reposition the defence sats any further, as they will be working with the ships to deploy those mines in the debris field.

Meanwhile, your Heavy MS Companies have caused a full scale retreat from Debris field for the federation. The badly damaged Heavy MS company is moving back for repairs whilst the Medium MS company from Blue Battallion moves up to keep the pressure on the retreating enemy and to set up defensive positions in the debris field.

How well could the Elmeth thin out those clouds of balls? I'd imagine those big cannons the balls have aren't too good at pin-point shooting those bits and without that GM Sniper support they will have an even worse time of it. I'd imagine the Elmeth alone could really tie up their firepower.

While the Elmeth is doing that we can have the rest of the team searching the debris field for the fuck-off cannon gundam as well as helping out friendly forces against the GM rushes.

I don't think we want to move the Defense Sats any closer than they already are.

Also, I think we should have the entire Nachtmaren lurking in the debris field, specifically tasked with finding and destroying the two gundams. The Federation is sure to use them again to try to spearhead their next assault, and we should take the opportunity to kill them.

Besides, Nell is taking a break for the moment. When she's gotten some rest (and a lookover on the Elmeth by the techs whilst this happens), we'll know the tactical situation better and can deploy her accordingly.

More time passes. Jolyne eventually returns to the ship.

"How'd it go?" You ask her as she dismounts from her Gelgoog Cannon.

"Getting a clean shot at targets inside the Debris field is difficult as hell. Especially since there's too much interering terrain to tell friendlies to get out of your line of fire. Just making the shots was difficult. Next time I'm doing it from a closer range. Hows everyone else doing?"

"Nell's been helping out, and I've got her coming in for a rest now, the rest of us are doing okay, apart from Rance who managed to lose an arm and a leg to enemy Megaparticle fire. He's going to be out for at least two more hours. We've got space mines from the colonies coming to seed the debris field with."

"It'll be difficult to operate in the field for us as well if we do that, are we abandoning the debris field?"

"We'll abandon it in stages, when the field is properly seeded we'll move back to the defence sats and have them pound anything that makes it's way to the other side."

"Sounds like a plan, so what will we be doing?"

I'd say Nachtmaren should probably start hunting and killing any Fed teams that want to get a clear picture of our fleet movements from around the debris field.

I imagine that now that Zeonic forces are withdrawing from the mined debris field that Revil will try to pull a fast and ballsy move of moving the Unit 4 and 5 as well as sniper teams into the mine field in order to strike at our forces. If he does this we can use the Elmeth's bits to flush them into thick mine concentrations and cause explosive chain reactions. Either the Fed teams in the mine field get blown up by mines or they get flushed out for Nachtmaren to deal with.

If they try to do a ball rush from around the debris we can have the def sats and heavy MS teams start slagging them into storms of molten metal.

Unless the recon zakus are seeing small teams of MS moving in from a different direction as if the Unit 4 was trying to sneak up to use its fleet killer megaparticle cannon on our def sats and fleets then we might as well go where the action is.

I think the more unattractive we make this avenue of attack for the Feds the better we can make them divide their forces as they try to find weaknesses in our defense. By dividing their fleet into more bit-sized morsels we can begin killing that fleet by a thousand cuts.

Do you guys think the fleet will split or stay together when the figure out the field is mined.
We should keep in mind that there are three directions that they could come from: Left, Right, and Above.

They could go around the field (in 3D space) where they will be in sight for our defense sats and fleet cannons. The Feds wanted to go through the debris field because it would have shielded them from our fleet's fire but now they gave us time to turn it into a death trap.

If I was Revil I would probably try to move the fleet in one direction and have the Unit 4 with a small team of aces for protection strike with its cannon from the other direction. This way he can split our fleet and crush us without committing to the mined field of death. Thus I think Nacthmaren should prioritize hunting Unit 4 whenever it shows up to prevent this option from Revil and force him to split his fleet for finding weaknesses in our defense. In the meantime we should wreck the Feds Ball and GM rushes as well as protecting the engineers setting up those wonderful mines.

After another 10 minutes, Nell and her Elmeth finally arrive. She dismounts without a word, sits in a corner, holding her knees to her chest and falls asleep.

"More or less. She'll stay like that for about 20 minutes maybe more.

"Could we wake up if needs be?"
"She'll probably wake up before you manage it."

A few minutes later, Ookawara tells you that the work on the your mobile suits is finished, Options suit has about 30 minutes left and the arm on Rance's Zaku is finally finished being connected and they've started work on the leg.

It's around this point that you get an updated recon report from the friendly forces in the debris field. (pictured) The enemy ships are spreading out, possibly to envelop you, they've also begun launching Balls to cover them. No Mobile Suits just yet though.

Three carge ships with space mines have arrived, they will begin seeding the debris field momentarily.

It will take an hour for Rance's Zaku to be finished, and it's not certain if there are any spare Mobile Suits just lying around right now. Option will take 30 minutes, and Nell will take 20 minutes (so far the Elmeth doesn't seem to have any problems that need urgent fixing, knock on wood.) more or less.

    Okay. 30 minutes it is.
Roughly 24 minutes in is where Nell finally wakes up. She starts sluggishly floating around looking for food. Presently one of her handlers get's her some.
Six minutes later, bang on time, Ookawara and his team report that they've finished Options repairwork. Not a moment too soon, as the engineering team and the mine ships are just about to begin seeding the area with mines.

Also, more disturbingly, the tactical situation has shifted again. The enemy have begun to launch their mobile suits. The Trojan Horse have deployed 14 (!) Sniper II model GM's, backed up by Heavy Arms class Guncannons and GM Cannons as fire support. They appear to be operating in fireteams of 4 and 3.

Aside from that, the conventional cruisers and battleships have launched their own GM contingents as well. Light and Standard RGM-79's rub shoulders with Balls and yet more GM Cannon units. However, as of yet they have not begun to advance. They appear to be taking up a holding pattern, escorting their ships.

No sign of the Gundams so far.

The three minelaying teams have split to cover more ground, and are represented on the map by the Zeon symbols. Which one do you want to escort? Top, middle or bottom?

You give the order, and launch heading towards the lower mining team, since it's closest to the enemy. You order Nell to launch and to back you up. The Elmeth is is still recharging, and there might be a brief five minute delay before she launches. Regardless you quickly make your way out towards the third minelaying team. On your way you pass through the third Heavy MS Company, several squads of which are still circleing between their motherships for repair. They give you the thumbs up as you depart, and wish you luck.

Presently you reach the debris field and meet up with a small cargo ship and it's surrounding team of Zakus. The two of them are currently attatching the motion sensitive mines to various pieces of relatively stable debris. They see and acknoledge your presence.

If it's not, then the massive explosions should tell Jol and Option that they'll need to come and help the dynamic duo out.

    hold the line and ignore.

As soon as Nell Launches, have her send a bit over to check it out.
In the meantime, call out the spotted anomaly and assume defensive positions

    But what if it's 04 or 05?
Jol and Option are more than enough to cover Elayne and the engineering team. We should check it out to see if it's the gundams or not. Even if its only a regular GM squad, David and Zol are enough to wipe one out, and it would keep them away from the engineers.

In nearly 40 minutes we've had 3 for going to explore, and 1 dissenter.
I don't think you're going to get much better than that, Apologised.

You split the teams between yourself, zol and Jolyne and Option. You push forwards into the debris zone to investigate. After about five minutes of searching. You come up with nothing.

"You sure you saw something boss?" Zolomon asks you.

"Absolutely. He's here all right, but I guess he isn't looking for a fight." you state.

"So a recon unit? trying to get a feel for our forces?"

"That and strike any targets of opportunity, like that big giant ship full of explosive mines back there... or a lone Mobile Suit splitting off from it's wingman."

Zolomon guesses where this is heading.

"That's pretty risky David, if this guy's any good..."

"If you're not attacked you double back to rejoin with me in about two minutes. I should be able to survive that long at the very least."

"What if he doesn't attack either of us?"

"Then we'll have to think of something else. But let's cross that bridge when we come to it."

Despite his misgivings, the two of you part ways in an attempt to bait the enemy. For about a minute you're beginning to think that the mobile suit you saw must have moved on, then it attacks.

You barely dodge the beam as it whizzes past your head. The enemy GM is light-armour model, and it's moving at blistering speed, in an attempt to avoid getting hit. You manage to dodge his initial hit and run strike with his Beam Saber and then pursue, intent on putting pressure on the speeding enemy, hoping to cause him to make a mistake. Your beam shots lance back and forth at each other as you dash amdist the debris and asteroids. You both run out of ammo for your Beam rifles at the same time (which is something to remember, a Light Armour GM's beam gun has only 12 shots.) and you take advantage of the situation and start shooting at him with your arm-mounted beam spray pistol. He clearly wasn't expecting you to have mounted beam weaponry as his hand and arm take damage, and he loses his grip on his Beam rifle. It's not enough for a kill however.
Seeing himself at a disadvantage, the enemy then charges in with his remaining beam saber. The speed of his advances is impressive, and you almost don't manage to draw your Beam Saber to parry his. He continues his policy of high speed fly-by strikes, but by the third time he tries it you've got the timing down, and you catch him with your heat rod. The grapple latches on and you jam the red button and discharge coruscating electricity through the mobile suit. Stunning it, so it has no response to Zolomons charge, spare Beam Lance in hand, that shreds the enemy clean in two.

The running battle with the enemy GM had actually taken you quite far. Certainly further than you had planned to patrol.

"We'd best be getting back, they're going to be worrying what happened to us." Zolomon states to you.

Your answer is cut off by a massive explosion to your right. Followed by several more secondary explosions.

"What the hell was that!?" Zolomon asks.

"It looks like it came from the central minelaying team. But what could have happened?"

"An engineering mistake? If they had unskilled people working with them..." Zolomon posits.

"Or worse, enemy action... think about it, if those Gundam are in the area, either one of them could have easily done that." you reply.

"Yeah, but those guys are as flashy as hell, no way would they be able to resist not plowing through the enemy instead of sneaking past..." Zolomon points out.

Well, you realise, I guess there's really only one way to find out...

    TO BE CONTINUED.

Hey, Gouf Guy here. This thread went slow, and although you gave plenty of opportunities for input, IMO it would be better to condense any posts where there is little/no input to save time, and to provide options (though the advice of squadmates) to encourage participation.

Concerning the slowness of the thread, and participation, most of the decisions were easy ones to make.
With that, consensus was easy to build, and the extra time waiting for any dissenting posts was wasted, in my opinion.

I understand waiting an hour or so if there is a furious debate going on between multiple choices of action, but when a clear majority comes up and isn't swayed in 30 minutes, I think that's enough to move on with.

Lovely. So this could be either Gihren's fleet OR the second half of the Federation fleet.

Oh well, atleast this should mean we dont have to sit in this debris belt for too many more episodes.
