!!O+eQDn0BBx8 04/16/11(Sat)05:02 No.14610536“Enough! I was just paid a visit in my /office/ by a mage who completely circumvented our wards and was unaffected by the Decanter. Not only that, but he was asking about my /DAUGHTER/!” She all but screams the last word, and the four all pale. “I- how, I don’t unders-” one begins, only to be cut off again, “I don’t know! He was interested in Laressa and did nothing but ask questions about her. She must be warned, /now/! I’ll not have some random wizard tearing down four hundred years of planning.” At this she whips out a sheet of parchment and a quill from within her sleeves, quickly scribing down coded words. “I’ll list the events and questions he asked verbatim, as well as the answers I gave. Make sure she is told to memorize them well enough to give under torture or when taken by surprise. Send...”, she pauses and looks up. “Who do you think is best, Selvaris?”
The tallest elf in the chamber, a brown-skinned southerner, places his hand on his forehead and screws up his face thinking, before shaking his head, “I don’t know, with something this unexpected I think it might be best if I go myself. Celedine nods, resuming her rapid scrawling, “Good, stay there, I just received another demand from the court to send an assassin, so I’ll be able to have you ‘randomly’ assigned and then scyed as dead three months in. Here.” With that she finishes her transcribing of the past events and, rolling up the parchment, hands it to the man.
The four turn to leave, but she holds up her hand, stopping them, “From this point on, no plans are discussed anywhere but here, understood?” At their nods she returns with one of her own before turning to Selvaris and giving a warm, heartfelt smile, “Good luck my friend, watch over Laressa for me. Please. I... worry, even if she doesn’t believe it.” He bows, “Of course, my lady.”
Apparently finished, they all depart, winding their way back towards the hidden staircases. |
