Explorator General Cave Johnson reporting in. We've come across some kind of xenotech we found crammed into a high security vault under a bombed out city. Now none of the boys on our end have any clue what it is, so I've ordered them to suspend it over the drive core until it either melts or activates. I'll get back to you fine folks with the results just as soon as they're finished; unless of course the entire ship goes nova and our souls are sent screaming through the warp.

Ave Imperator and welcome, future Imperial citizen, to the Adeptus Mechanicus heretic reintegration slash heretech testing facility. Now is your chance to redeem yourself in His eyes and advance the cause of humanity! Or maybe just get melted like the rest of control group Epsilon. Those thumbtwiddling fancypants in Administratum probably didn't want me to mention that, but who cares? I'm Cave Johnson and I lay ALL my cards on the table, no matter how bad the hand is! But seriously, the atmosphere in here isn't rated for Oxygen-Nitrogen respiration so I'd move on if I were you.

The boys managed to dig up an STC readout for something that takes ordinary silicate based solid matter and converts it into an unknown hybrid material suitable for use as a superconductor. Now, the application of this device may not be clear from the outset, but Ol' Cave Johnson knows a thing or two about archeotech... at least I did before I hooked myself up to that ancient data daemon repository. It seems that SOMEONE never bothered to tell me that it was not, in fact, the Iapetus model ambient image projector we salvaged. Anyway, we'll be using the superconducto-silicathingy as a shower curtain. Another red letter day for the Adeptus Mechanicus!

Cave Johnson reporting. It seems some of the boy excavated some tech from the surface of Relis VI. We first thought it might of been some kind of interdimensional refridgerator or at least that's what I thought. Turns out it was a Warp Gateway with no way to shut it down! Ha ha boy was my face red! Incidentally, we are going to need more initiates. Completely
    >> Anonymous 04/22/11(Fri)22:21 No.14685915
Apparently, converting the ecology of the agri-moon orbiting a major hive world to a nanosyrup production cycle is a crime nowadays, at least in the eyes of the Administratum. But you know what? Screw 'em! No vision, that's what they've got, not like me! Oh no, no one'll ever say Cave Johnson played it safe or wimped out. I tell you, these people. They come to us, fixin to have their doodads and ancient whatnot stitched back together and then dare- they DARE to criticize me when I give it a spit-shine?! Do they know who I am! I'm the guy who's ordering an orbital strike on their hive!

Now remember, something that will get you out of here sooner is willingness to cooperate. Like with testing. Hey, He always says humanity should work together, so why don't you prove you are willing to help Him by helping us?

Now then, the Eldar will be attacking because they might accuse us of holding their wraithbone for ransom. Which is a lie. We are using it for research. Completely different.

Now you might be asking yourself: Cave, just how difficult are these tests? What was in that Am I in danger of being a heretic? Let me answer that question with a question.

Who wants to make sixty thrones? Gelt.

You can also feel free to relax in the waiting room for up to twenty minutes, which is a damn sight more comfortable than the underhive benches most of you were sleeping on when we found you.

For many of you, I realise that sixty thrones is an unprecedented windfall, so don't go spending it all on...

I don't know. Caroline, what do these people buy? Broken chronos? Rag dirt?

So, welcome to Aperture. You're here because we want the best, and you're it. Nope. Couldn't keep a straight face.
