    223 KB Bodysnatcher Quest 3 Brain In A Jar 05/13/11(Fri)20:35 No.14918005
You are a strange creature, capable of taking over other lifeforms to serve as your vessel. Your current host, Jack Winters, was unbeknownst to you a drug addict, and overdosed on speedball. To survive, you bonded with him, but this damaged you, leaving you without any idea of what you are.Your purpose seems to be related to the series of objects that have appeared and dissapeared above major population centers, and to the cyborg-like creature that you killed. Leaving the party that your host's girlfriend organized for you, you met others of your kind, who reacted with hostility to your presence, proclaiming you sick and broken.

I'd suggest that anyone trying to join skip the first one as it herps the derp somewhat.

Your known abilities are:- reinforcing your muscle and bone tissue, making you several times stronger, faster and tougher
    - growing weapons from your arms, limited to one on each arm in any combination:a hooked, double edged blade on your forearm, claws or a spike that springs out from your wrist underneath your palm
    - hardening your skin into thick, segmented bone plate armor
    - absorbing ingested organic material, that you can use to increase muscle and bone density(animal tissue is the most effective)
    - the ability to call forth your host's memories, skills and knowledge
    >> Brain In A Jar 05/13/11(Fri)20:37 No.14918017
You run across the dirty roof of the building, putting everything you have into speed. You leap through the street, landing on a tiled roof on the other side, everything under your feet exploding into shrapnel from the impact. You move as fast as you can, barely sliding to a halt as a massive figure lands ahead of you, towering above you, it's spiked armor glistening sinisterly. It raises it's head towards the sky, a howl rippling forth from a fanged maw, the call answered from the top of a building nearby. As you turn to escape,a faint whirring sound becomes noticable, and infront of your eyes a blurry outline clears out to reveal a vehicle of some sort( a VTOL, whispers Jack) in the sky for a brief moment, before it's spotlights blind you.

Look for a place to duck in and change our appearance to hide. There's no way we'd be able to take these guys out in a straight-up fight.

I'm torn between evasion and possible assistance. We obviously can't run. I'm guessing since we're armored up, we look just as filthy xeno as the rest of the scum. I say we jump off the rooftop and take our chances on foot. I don't know whether the VTOL people are good or bad, and I think until we figure it out we should just avoid everyone. I'm aware this isn't a great plan of action, but everything seems bad.
    >> Magus O'Grady 05/13/11(Fri)21:17 No.14918246
I say hard-left. Break for the building edge. If we just vaulted over a street, then there should be alleyways to the left and right. Make for the one on the left (most right handed beings will anticipate a break to the right [their left], buying us an extra quarter second). When we get there, make like we're going to leap/swan-dive down into the alleyway. Instead, cling to the wall, wait for 1.5 seconds, then leap diagonally towards the opposing building's roof so that we land in the far corner. From there, we can gain a lead and keep running.
    >> Brain In A Jar 05/13/11(Fri)21:22 No.14918281
    >>14918169
You bound over the edge of the building, rolling on impact to soften the blow. The vehicle makes a curious whirring sound, as it's front mounted weaponry revs up, spraying the rooftop with bullets. You get to your feet and start to run, the street blurring in your vision. The Warrior, intent on catching you, follows your lead, landing on a car only a few meters behind you.

The Warriors heavy steps get closer and closer beofre you feint to the right and jump to the left, grabbing hold of the wall of an alley. The creature roars in frustation, charging at you, holding it's right arm forward, the hook-blade on it much larger than the ones you can grow. Before it could reach you, you kick yourself off of the surface, sailing through the night air, landing clumsily on your side on the edge of the roof.

You get to your feet, glancing back towards the Warrior, and see that the other one is locked in combat with the vehicle, periodically unleashing a torrent of bone spikes launched from it's arms. The VTOL answers with it's chaingun, dancing around in the air, unsuccesfuly trying to get out of the way, the air filled with a sound like rain falling on a tin roof as it's hull is littered with spikes. Yo tear yourself away from the sight and leap as far as you can, landing two streets down.

You quickly look around, trying to find something solid to throw and deciding on a parking meter. Ripping it out of the ground, you take a few steps and throw it forward with your right like a javeling. It flies straight, propelled by your significant strength, and hits the second Warrior in the small of it's back, making it stumble forward. It looks in the direction the projectilecame from , forgetting itself only for a moment, but that's enough for the vehicle's pilot. The chaingun pours a steady stream of bullets into the creature's side, smashing the armor and ravaging it's body. It falls down to it's knees, but before you could see what happens, you notice the other Warrior leaping towards you from atop a building.

You hurl yourself to the right as the monstrosity flies towards you, propelled by it's enourmous strength. It's blade buries itself into the sidewalk, trapped by the hook on it's end. As you stand up the Warrior's off-hand lashes out towards you, sending you reeling against the window of a shop. The beast pulls at the blade with all it's strength, breaking apart the concrete as it disentangles itself. Cornered, you dash forward, ducking under the incoming blade, and slap both of your hands on it's right knee, your spikes slipping through the joints of the armor, bone shattering under the pressure. You dance bakc, vary of it's weapon, and watch as the puncture wounds start to close, only to become large tears as it tries to put it's weight on the leg. It falls to it's knees, temporarily immobilized.

You morph your arms, the spikes not enough for the job, and go in for the kill, blades lashing out as the Warrior tries to stand up. It falls back to it's needs, raising the off-hand to protect itself from your blows. The armor on it makes your strikes bounce off, and it raises the blade on it's right arm, swiping it at you. In response, frustrated by your ineffectiveness, you vault over him, and plunge your blades into the sides of it's neck, the weapons raising and falling as you make quick work of the creature, it shudders and slopes forward, it's spine severed in multiple places, blood gushing forth from it's wounds.

The torrent of information is different, more primal and simple this time, revealing to you that the Warriors intelligence is more animalistic than the Infiltrators. The connection between bodysnatchers(the voices you heard) seemed to inform them that you are damaged, making an order to remove all imperfect members emerge. The Warrior itself knows very little about the plans or orders of your kin, taking orders directly from something called an Overseer.

You shiver as the blades on your arms grow, extending a good 40 centimeters from the tip of your fingers, their edge keener than any sword. A thin partition grows under the armor, filled with a liquid that hardens on impact, and a muscular tube grows inside your throat, ending in a small hole on your palete. Suddenly, gunshot filled the night, as the Infiltrators inside the car you saw open fire on the VTOL as it turns towards then. The chainsaw rips the car alongside it's passangers to shreds, a second too late to prevent one of them from firing off a shoulder-mounted RPG! The missile slams into the VTOL, ripping of one of it's propellers, sending it plumeting onto the club's roof, the earth shaking from the meeting of the craft and building. Over the sound of the crash, you hear sirens in the distance.

You reabsorb the bone-plates, the reactive armor remaining under your skin as you make your way to the fire escape. The street is devastated, with holes in the pavement and sidewalk, cars with their roofs smashed all around, and the Infiltrators car standing gutted in the middle of the road. You climb as fast as you can ,listening to the sirens of the police cars approaching. Pulling yourself up to the roof, you can see the VTOL, dented and filled with spikes, lying there. You can tell that it's clearly human-made. As you approach it, a doar blasts open by the cockpit, a man in a military uniform stumbling out, ripping his helmet off. He looks up, his eyes opening wide as he sees you, immediately pulling his sidearm out, pointing it at you. "Don't move! Identify yourself! Who the hell are you?"

You strike, quick as a snake, the spike retracted before he knows what happened. He looks at you, and only gets as far as "Wha" bfore he goes limp, his eyes unfocusing. You check that he's still breathing, and carry him back to the cockpit, placing him in his chair as naturally as you can. Satisfied, yu look around, taking pictures of everything you find remotely interesting. His co-pilot is, as he said, dead, pinned to the chair by a spike that ran his head through. The instruments are foreign to you and Jack as well though, so you check the compartment behind, finding some kind of machine that is connected to the craft, filling the whole 2x2x2 space. It looks to be a strange mix of technology, obviously incorporating parts that seem to be similar to the machinery the cyborg drone you killed had.You can hear that the police has arrived, someone already shouting orders at a crowd on the street.

You sneak into an alley, watching out for anyone who might see you. Reassured that you are alone, you shift the bones in your face, making the jawline and the forehead more prominent, increasing the size of the lips and ears, and increase the amount of melanin in your skin. You walk out into the street, looking like a young african-american man. Making your way back to the crowd, you approach one of the cops, a fifty year old man with a five O'clock shadow and baggy, resentfull eyes."Officer, sir, you have to see something. I found this thing, like the one that brough down that chopper there. It's hurt bad, but it's still alive. Is there a reward or something?" You say with a look that's supposed to be hopeful. He obviously doesn't like what he sees, but he says with resignation"Stay here, son, I'll be back in a minute." He turns around, and walks to a tall man in a suit who is arguing with some of the policemen. You glance quickly into the window of a shop beside you, and see that your altered features are somehow subtly wrong in their proportions. Perhaps the policeman's distrustfull reaction was partly due to this.

Note: If we want to switch hosts, we can subdue the potential victim, then leave the victim tied up on one side a table.
Lie down on the other side, heads touching, or better, earholes touching.
    Transfer.

Once done, convert the prior host's body into mass.

Since this takes a while, I'd rather do this to characters that can be seen missing for a couple of days, or at least there is a plan to counter that (use face/voice to get leave or something).

Regarding last upgrade, I would have loved to have that triple muscle booster. That's a two-second boost that increases limb power, not something that permanent disfigures the host.
    - Can't pierce the tough hide of this tank (organic or metal)? Juice up, punch through.
    - Being chased and can't seem to shake the enemies? Power your legs, increase gap to plan for something else.

That pilot though, damn, missed a chance there.

On the other hand, though, I do not think we'd really get that enough down time from either the machine drones (who seemed to be providing/being used by the government) or the polymorphing bodysnatching invaders.

Actually, now that I think about it, the plan may be unnecessary. I was thinking we shapeshift into a stunningly gorgeous female, get close to one of the numerous young males in the military (Preferably somebody a little higher up who's in the know), seduce him, convince him to call in sick with the promise of a two day sex marathon, then tie him up and take over.

Then it occurred to me that we could simply tie him up, imitate his voice to call in sick, then proceed.

Still, I think there might be something in shapeshifting into a girl to lower people's suspicions. A black gangbanging drug dealer doesn't exactly inspire confidence and trust.

Okay, do we dare pick up Jacobs with all the other soldiers and hazmat guys around?

We can also sedate Greg somewhere in the club, strip him, shapechange, and walk to the roof. There, call upon Jacobs with 'serious business, need to attend soon'. If Jacobs falls for it, take him back to somewhere in the club with window access, sedate him, and leave with him in tow.

I do not think we have the chance to look at the bird anymore.

The club is currently full of people, if I may remind you. 22 On this floor alone. Just saiyan, plan accordingly.

Take Greg to the second floor. Kill him and bury him in wreckage, or sedate him and leave him in a toilet stall. Either way, it's the best plan.

"AW, f'real? Cause them Alcatel's ain't cheap, these things really set a nigga back, knaamean? Listen Greg, real talk. I know I was in the baffroom textin' my bitch when all this went down. Let's just go up, play it safe, and I'll pay you for your, like, curtsy."

My thoughts: How jampacked is the club (and associated apartments)? Will there be a soldier in each room? Wouldn't want a soldier/hazmat guy walk in as we are stripping the pants off Greg's sunshunned arse.

This might be BiaJ's attempt to move us away from kidnapping a guy and infodumping so early.

If it is possible to do, I am all for it.

It's possible, of course, there isn't a soldier for every room. And I'd like to think I'm not railroading, merely trying to make the world consistent\logical.

welp, that's what we'e doing. Once I get him up there, I'll close the door behind hiim, readying my sedative spike.

I'll say "Oh hey, there's my phone"

When he looks, I'll slam the spike into his throat, flooding his veins with sedatives.

"Let me know when you want your finder's fee"

Shit, you're going to kill him. I think its safe to assume your sedatives will work without having to directly hit a blood vessel.

"Really? Okay then, I guess it couldn't hurt to look."He goes to the soldiers and tell's them that he'll escort you to the second floor, and heads up. You follow him, preparing your sedative spike. There are only 2 more soldiers up here, guarding the stairs to the next floor. He opens the door and walks in, and looks under the stalls."Are you really sure it's here, I don't see it anywhere arou-" You put your palm against his neck, letting the spike slip in lightly under his skin, injecting the sedative quickly, then pulling it back. Roll for sedative!

He looks up at you, confused, at stays like that for a second, before dropping down. The sound is magnified by the echo of the room, and one of the guards asks shouts from the ned of the hallway"Is everything alright in there?" You can hear his steps approaching, and almost panic. You shout out in Greg's voice "I, uh, I slipped.Everything's okay, hunky dory." They seem to believe you, and return to their posts. You quickly strip Greg and put on his clothes, stuffing him into one of the stalls, prpping him up so his legs don't show underneath. You reshape yourself, bones and soft tissue shifting to recreate his appearance. When you are done, you take a critical look in the mirror, but this time you had something to base it on, and it looks passable.
    Wat do?

If you think it has gone too far on what ever side, comment, and post your opinion and suggestion.
If you never do, chances are that the quest would go in the direction you don't like, and you'd leave the quest in its entirety.

Playing a quest alone or just with 2-3 people sucks.
