A shiny black protrusion on the head of the slug provides coloration to attract mates, and some protection against falling or falling objects. The protrusion makes his profile larger, and thus harder to hide and fit into tight spaces.

This variation of the Occular Slug seems to be sprouting some sort of spikes for self defense, as well as getting more muscular.

here we can see what appears to be a mating ritual between a group of gentlemen slugs and a damsel slug. However, on closer inspection we see that the female is actually the lethal "femme-fatale" slug. The unfortunate male who thinks he's going to pass on his genes, will only end up passing on.

The mating rituals of the slugs are complex. First, the males gather amongst themselves and, at great length, perform feats of strength and creativity. It is in such a hut that the femme-fatale will assassinate her target, and consume him whole.

A specialized predator wholly devoted to consuming the slugs and their related types has evolved a most sadistic method for predation.
