    Needs more Homebrew Necron.

Deep within the outskirts of Subsector Yamato lies planet Ti'Anxia a barren desert world, undisturbed for untold millenia. Unbeknownst to Baron Paral Von Hoskarl and Rogue trader Arlmod Gertlend , they had stumbled upon one of the eight tombs of this world.
The "Warriors of the Eight Tombs" are a Necron Tomb world assembly Led by Kaar, The Hand of Unity. Self appointed Lord of the Eight Tombs, Emperor of Ti'anxia a Platinum Level Lord.
So Far we Have Karr - Pictured (Based on a Tomb Spyder body)

First rendition of Kaar, the Hand of Unity
8 different Gold Lords subservient to Karr - 1 running each tomb like the 8 Immortals of Zui Quan. (Based on the Old Chinese Mythos of the "Eight Immortals")

Okay time to revive this thread.

Arlmond Gertlend was awoken by the bitter taste of earth and blood. It wasn’t the first time it he had experienced it, the last such instance involved a pissed off crew and enough alcohol that even the Emperor himself would wake up next to some hiveworld whore with questionable personal hygiene standards. This time it was different.
Rolling to his side, Arlmond held his cracked ribs and let out a string of profanity that would likely cause an inquisitorial investigation if he was in the company of more honourable men. Thankfully he was not....
    >> The God-Emperor of Mankind 05/29/11(Sun)04:31 No.15090315
    >>15090304

The cloud of sand that filled the cave began to settle and Arlmond wiped away the blood and dust from his eyes with a torn cloth he found to his side. It was only after his vision returned he realised that the cloth he had used was worn by a miner just a few moments ago and still had some remnants from its previous owner attached.
He fought back the urge to vomit but failed. Then came the buzzing, his hearing was returning along with a headache that could kill a caveworm or two. It didn’t matter. Arlmond’s eyes were drawn to something in the distance. Just past the fallen debris, past the team of men trying to pull out a man whose legs had become trapped under a very big rock. A fantastic green glow emitted from a symbol of unknown origin.
“What in the Emperors name?” wheezed Arlmond, as a droplet of blood dripped into his wide open mouth.
    >> The God-Emperor of Mankind 05/29/11(Sun)04:33 No.15090340
    >>15090315

As he collapsed, again, the taste of blood and earth in his mouth remained…A torrent of twisted mechanical beings arose from the ground, each followed by a hundred of the same. Ti’Anxia itself came alive with a million mechanical tendrils reaching out for destruction.
A consistent hum was emitting from deep within the core of the planet. If the sight of an untold number of ancient evils, a mix of machine, torn-flesh and incomprehensible technology, marching forth would not cause a man to lose his mental capacity, the sound that pierced even the thickest armour surely would. It scratched and it scraped at the inside of man’s soul. It ripped apart every barrier until it was inside the deepest corridor of any man, the part that gave him his greatest weakness - mortality.
No man was immune. Not even the mighty Space Marines whose abundance of loyalty and honour could do little to save them now.
    >> The God-Emperor of Mankind 05/29/11(Sun)04:35 No.15090359
    >>15090340

“Foolish mortals, we are older than time itself.” A voice hissed, “Your immaturity and pride has led you once more into the chasm of destruction. We are without equal… We are without number…” , As the voice dimmed down, the tortured screams of a thousand men echoed across the planet inside every man’s conscience.

The Necrons marched forth in relentless, overwhelming, implacable ranks, the Rising Sons companies falling to their molecular-stripping gauss weapns and unnaturally sharp blades as just would any other living being. And yet there was almost an vindictive air to the thoroughness with which they slaughtered the doomed warriors of Chapter Master Toshiro, smashing their Holy relics and laying waste to their sacred armor. The leader of the once proud force of genetically enhanced super-warriors of the God Emperor looked on in horror as they fell one by one to the unrelenting tide of Necrons.

As formidable a threat as the Master Warrior and his 600 Battle Brothers were, respendant and proud in their wargear with battle standards flying high and prayers to the Emperor on their lips as they smashed their blades and fired their bolters into the oncoming waves of living metal monstrocities, their defeat was utterly consuming and thorough. It seemed as though no living force could halt the tidal wave of cold, heartless death as it crashed over the planets of the Yamato system.

In the last hours of the massacre, The Master of the Rising Suns suddenly understood the full extent the Necron threat. He had acted with the speed and grace borne by the Sons of Khan, Sending his 6 companies planetside to utterly ahniiliate what they had believed to be the Necron Lord and his personal standing forces. By that act was his failure to the Emperor cemented forever in inglorious defeat. With terrifying clarity he realized his error as the Xenos abominations poured into the subsector, their numbers beyond counting, slaughtering all into their path. They had laid a trap, and he, in his anger and impatience, had sprung it.

When the Necron Legions began arriving in the Yamato subsector, the local Imperial Guard Detachments made every effort to push back the advancing horde of death and destruction. Unfortunately for them, there are no walls or barriers thick enough to withstand the punishing fire of Gauss weapnry. Fewer still are there Artillery batteries or firearms of sufficient cabaility to halt a Necron advance of this magnitude.

Lord General Tso of the Ashiguru Imperial Guard was helpless against the deathless tide, and his soldiers were completely overrun within the first few hours of the engagement.

By the time Toshiro's scouts identified the incoming Xenos reinforcements through their scopes on the outskirts of the field of battle, the defeat of the Third Company, first to engage the enemy in honorable combat, was at hand. They knew, as only doomed men might know, that if they were going to have any chance of defeating these soulless enemies, they would need to change the very way they fought and bled in service to the Emperor. With a defiant scream of hatred, the Captain of the third was suddenly, finally silenced. Knowing they needed to warn others of the impending onslaught, the Warriors of the third fought ever harder, but to no avail. By the time the final bolter was silenced, the implacable Xenos had already begun moving on to still-living prospects, such was the contempt they had for their would-be attackers.

The victory was not swift by any means, but it was utterly absolute. The day after the battle not even the corpses of guardsmen were to be found, only a massive Host of Necron Raiders and Monoliths where Imperial bulwarks and shrines to the Emperor had formally stood, resplendant in their glory and might, now reduced to rubble and dust. A macabre reflection of the enslaved minds of the Necrons, marching in rank upon rank to bring ruin to the Galaxy.

I like the tone, It just may be pushing it too far. I thought the general Idea was the 'Crons pushing the Rising Sons off planet with massive casualties (But still survivors) to the Rising Sons, and then kinda sitting there and simmering for a while while the forces gathered, fighting off (Insert enemy here) occasionally, until they were ready to push out once more.

True, but currently it kinda feels too "Spiritual Liege" if you know what I mean?

"Necrons Iz the best and no-one can stand against them" Have them win. Have them fucking Crush the enemy. But give the enemy the belief that they have a chance of of success, a series of counter attacks that brings them near one of the golden lords himself. Only to be countered at the last second by Khaan himself, or the deepstriking monoliths of the 7th lord, something that turns it and makes the treader think, Oh. these are not just killy robots, these are tactical, angry, and vengeful machines that will stop and nothing, no matter what, to succeed.

I've been chasing Argus around for what seems two millenia...

It's not far from the truth, ever since I came into contact with Argus my detachment has spearheaded his destruction with extreme prejeduice. I was 24 at the time... My command career hasn't been about anything else the past 278 years.

Earliest data mentions that somewhere in late m.39-m.40 the Mechanicus Bioligis of the Hippocrasian sect witin the Calaxis sector cooked up rare genetic material, pre-primordial... Something the Galaxy was populated on,
even before the Emperor took to the stars. Many men and woman would be disgusted at such a jest that there was a time before gods and man, having access on to the lord commander millitant's resources makes me shivver.
At every requisistion of information the galaxy becomes more and more horrifying, even on need to know a commander of the BlackWatch can never turn back from his office, it is were you die.

I was part of the 53rd Hunter Killer Squadran an small 300 years back, by than the epidemic had been rampaging the stars for 1.7 thousand years.
I did not know back than what I know now, that we created our greatest enemies with our own hands and repeat the eternal cycle of war, war amongst the stars.
    >> Fightan Man 05/29/11(Sun)06:32 No.15091033
We started in Calaxis where Argus... Where "The Thing" had been for many years, it had made it's way into a Hive, made to supply the imperium with guardsmen. Billions upon billions of humans populated the planet, it was a nightmarish battlefield; gangers oogling our weapons thinking they could rank higher up with our gear, mutants, "it". It would've been a disaster for any other company in the close densely populated confines of the hive.

Sadly for them... we weren't any other Company, we were the BlackWatch we hold the redline it is the last one Humanity will ever hold in this shadow war from the inside. The first day a drugged up hiver took a pot shot at our forces we changed the ROE, everything went down in a storm of fire. Friendly or unfriendly the hive learned to escape our patrols and leave the hive as the body count ramped up, and we started encountering the infection.
