You ever get that feeling like you were supposed to do something today? I've been having that feeling ever since I was supposed to have started this quest tonight. My bad.

We have caused an explosion that tore the very continents from VoidGate's final stronghold world. It is gone forever. We suffered heavy losses, but we prevented the machines from sending a Kingston lookalike through what appeared to be an engineered rift in time. We can only imagine the havok that would have ensued, if Kingston had been replaced by a VoidGate-allied machine.

(Also, in response to a question: yes, I read the archive, and maybe. That would have made me do a lot of puzzling about quantum physics and story structure)

So, how bad is our position relative to the rest of the sector? Are the protoss still unified? Is Cerebrate Street still teaching children about protoss stellar-cartography?

News out of the Confederates is spotty and propaganda-filled as ever. For all the news reveals, they could have conquered a hundred worlds, or they could still be hunkered down on the big three.

Kerrigan tells us that the Protoss are mostly unified, and she has been blocked out of their leadership. Tassadar and his lieutenant, Fenix, have secured Aiur and begun a massive movement for reconstruction and rearming, but she confirms that less than ten Dark Templar yet live. She can't say for certain how many less.

We have heard nothing from Dyles or the UED.

That doesn't answer the question of whether or not we're teaching terran children about the geography of the protoss empire, but I digress. Ask the SciCore if they can build a dingus to detect dark templar across systems. Also, let's have cyberbrate start picking through what we still have of voidgate's data. I think it's time we do something with the protoss.
    >> TUMCAMP 06/15/11(Wed)22:50 No.15281044
Come to think of it, ask Accountbrate about the long term economic impact of adding terminators into general use? I'd say they'd be better then infested terrans, but worse then thumblings.

    >>15280983
Actually, Indiana Gorn is having wild success right now.

The Dark Templar are different from the regular Protoss. We might be able to modify the Zerg Compass to detect particularly strong Protoss, but we doubt the Dark Templar would even register as a blip.

    ZOIG QUEST!

So far we know that our forces are depleted, but we've utterly destroyed one of our most implacable foes. To commemorate this, let us have Artisanlord work on an appropriate project related to this (a memorial or a play or whatever he can cook up).

Notify Kerrigan about VoidGate's destruction. Also, ask Kerrigan about the general status of her brood, and if she has any other plans in the works as of now. The Zerg Swarm may be heading toward inevitable war, now that the Protoss have caught on to her machinations.

Cloaked Overlords or Protoss Observers (we don't want Kingston to figure out the Dropserver trick) to do long-range scans and pick up Confederate transmissions.
Also, I think using Terminators would be a good way to infiltrate Confederate space. The Confederacy is already on-guard for Zerg-infected infiltrators, but I don't know if they're able to pick out a T-800. Something that bears looking into.

As I recall, Cyberbrate is still working on repairing much of the computing and manufacturing infrastructure on Dagobah, Internbrate is working on turning the Alman Station into a StarForge, and Labbrate is working on other projects.

I want Cyberbrate to continue repairing its damaged systems.
Internbrate to continue working on the StarForge.
Labbrate to work on Axlotl Tanks (using the Terminator synthetic skin growth process to clone humans to create more Infested Terrans) and making a small Terminator factory.
Our strength has been in finding new uses for enemy technology; Terminators will be no different.

I was thinking more along the lines of additional experimentation and such to see if we can yield any new mutations for the Swarm by getting our hands on more infested Protoss. Our units got an across-the-board psionic attack and enhanced stamina, but we might be able to "unlock" more evolutions and/or zerg species if we had more Protoss to experiment on; we can already construct carriers without any protoss aid (infested or not), if Kerrigan needs those protoss to construct her carriers, then maybe we can share construction information with her to alleviate that problem.

The cloaked overlord we send to Moria finds a similar situation to to Tarsonis, but the shipyards are working on wraiths and mining vehicles. The chatter is enrypted, but the not all of the encryptions are the same as on Tarsonis. In fact, a few minutes after we arrive, we notice a small armed convoy land, after which all of the ships that land using the Tarsonis encryption switch to a third, different encryption. We're one vote away from establishing a forward base//listening post on that one planet that we encountered Dyles/UED forces using a moderate force of Terran units & some Zerg to start a hive cluster.

I'm not entirely sure what we can do about the Confederacy right now.

Seconding all this. If we can speed up the Ghost evolution/breeding/cloning/whatevering program using the VoidGate technology we've discovered, do so. Creating infested ghosts would be great.

Female-model Terminator ridge-scratcher to be subservient to our original ridge-scratcher in the esoteric ridge-scratcher hierarchy we've constructed.

I also want a butler-Kingston, but it's not absolutely necessary.

Yes, butler Kingston. Also, there was an idea at the end of the last thread to use Kingstontrons on Zerg TV, I thin having one doing PSA would be fun.

    >send and Observer or three to random other systems in the Confederacy

A bit of clarification: As far as we know, there ARE no other systems in the Confederacy. We worked with VoidGate to destroy a huge chunk of it, and mass evacuations were underway. They could have expanded again, but we wouldn't know where.

Internbrate turns the Aleman Station over to Accountantbrate. Accountantbrate, after a little experimentation, releases a psionic cry of glee. For the first time in a long, long, time, it seems really happy. Several of the other cerebrates don't seem to understand the idea of Accountantbrate being happy.

Warbrate sends forces to Lutrious to establish a forward base. They will take a long time to arrive, as before.

Cyberbrate suggests that we pick an encryption method and focus on breaking that, rather than trying to break them all at once. Which one should we work on?

Internbrate thinks it could rig up an android to resemble Kingston, though it would obviously lack any scars, dyed hair, etc. Do we want it as a robot butler, or for propaganda purposes?

If we want it for ZergTV, how should we use it?

    From the last session:
Have Artisanlord do it as a "Breaking News Bulletin" to interrupt regular programming, and have a round-table conference call between Artisanlord, thumbling-proxy for Cyberbrate, thumbling-proxy for Labbrate, thumbling-proxy for Warbrate, and an uncomfortable looking Protoss Archon from that colony of archons as a 'special guest expert from the Protoss Empire'. Have the thumblings all wearing specially tailored suits and ties as they discuss the possibilities that the AI may have already replaced Kingston, possibly other high-ranking members of the Confederacy, and what this bodes for the safety of the Koprulu Sector for organic life.

The only problem is that the Confederacy will be on the lookout for Terminator infiltrators after that.

Break this third, new encryption key, since many forces appear to be switching to it.

    >>15281849
Have the first one set up as a butler.
Once Internbrate is better at creating infiltration model Terminators, we may use a dozen or so Kingston-models for the PSA, but that depends on if our desire to troll Kingston outweighs our desire to infiltrate the Confederacy with Terminators.

I want a butler, and if we use a Kingston on Zerg TV make sure that it doesn't look/move right. If we do show off our robokingston lets make it seem crude and easy to spot.

Better yet: Infiltrate the Confederacy with a ton Kingston terminators. A, for the lulz, B, because it will freak them out, and C, so they won't be on the lookout for our other, non-Kingston termies.

I understand that if we do that, then it would lull the Confederacy into a false sense of security. But we would lose the trolling potential of forcing Kingston to submit to ever more invasive tests to prove that he's human.

Internbrate constructs it and skins it, while Cyberbrate programs it. After a bit of technological wrangling, Cyberbrate is able to rig up a relay system so the Kingstonator Butler can respond to its direct commands from Xenta.

It is slightly disconcerting to us that we must relay orders to the unit through another being.

A side-project for Internbrate: the creation of a small Zerg organism, like a leech or eel, which can be implanted in a Terminator, and hooked up with a cybernetic interface, to act as an intermediary between the Terminator's CPU and the Swarm.
Sure, it's not direct control of a Terminator, but it's a nice psionic backup communication network in case the normal radio communications are jammed.

(...how did that slip my mind? Clearly, I am going senile)

After a few minutes of devoting its considerable computing power to the task, Cyberbrate believes it has broken the third encryption system, though there is still a 13.25% loss rate.

That's close enough for now, really. After running a cross-section of the comm traffic through the decryption algorithm, we discover...regular comm traffic. Most of it is mundane, though there are hints that the Morians may be talking of secession, and Cyberbrate estimates that several of the conversations are indicative of limited Terran expansion away from the three major planets.

It appears that the Terrans are using the encryption to ensure that none of our ships can infiltrate their systems undetected. Clever.

Next week: Lutrious outpost go! Kingstonator butlering! Maybe we do something with the Protoss or whatever! Who knows? I sure don't!
