The last one's in autosage, but debate seemed to be in full swing so here's another.

    Broquest General.

Last time, a bunch of people were raging at the developers for being unwilling to work on characters they didn't feel comfortable writing/designing.

Make Bro-Quest with the limited roster. If it works out and everyone likes it, begin production of a Bro-Quest expansion featuring some of the cut characters.

A big part of this game is character interactions, you can't keep to that with only nameless blank characters. You can make a story around them but not as much between them. That said, an all soldier sidequest or such seems doable and probably fun.

well then I guess i'll repost my idea here:

I would recommend the inclusion of an ally who could swap allegiances in the game, should certain criteria be met. like a character that if not met/recruited soon enough would disappear and become a BBEG later on. Or perhaps a character who's brotential can slip into the negative and cause an inter-party problem or just leave and seek vengeance. maybe you could convert an already existing character into these slots. suave devil would suit the former idea, while hot-blooded rival would suit the latter. maybe vengeful viking could become evil warlord or invincible warlord under certain conditions.

That's pretty awesome. I like that idea a lot more than mine. As a player, I might feel bummed out if I selected party members that would not contribute to an upgrade path for the Dog. If the devs are determined for upgrades to be dependent on party members, could every party member be a potential branch for the Dog upgrade? Or enough party members be a branch so at least one is guaranteed for each game play? It might add to the convenience of choice if there was already a pre-set branch the Dog could take if the party members selection did not appease the player. A default branch that just makes the Dog stronger in every aspect without any specialization.

I'd like Nameless Rank and File to remain Nameless Rank and File the entire game. I wanted to recruit a bumbling nobody and come out in the end of things with a bumbling SOMEbody. Some one, who wanted to save the world. He hasn't got particular talent, but the one that counts is his courage.

I do think he needs some kind of compensation for lacking in everything, so how about he's really, really ridiculously easy to revive or heal? Make that his game-mechanic talent. A potion that heals 50 damage could bring him back from the dead. He goes almost hard, but comes back with a second wind ready to go.

At the very end of the game, Nameless Soldier rises from a pile of bodies. He has won. After spending the entire game taking hits and being an overall decoy, he receives his finest hour. He clenches his bloody, golden sword and raises it into the sky, as if stabbing the sun itself. Light reflects from his armor. He stands a glistening, victorious champion. Seeing a crowd of peasant onlookers, he begins to address his people, letting them know he has prevailed.
    >"Friends, Romans and countrymen, today is the day I carve my name in the plates of history. I stand weakened but victorious, from this day on, you shall remember the name.."

    >With a giant sweep from his makeshift tree-club, the Druid Cyclops smacks Nameless Rank and File Soldier 30 feet into the air and 50 feet back. Nameless Rank and File Soldier's shield broke upon contact with the club, nearly saving him from instant death, but a few flips in the air ruined his dismount, pummeling him head first into the ground. A loud snap from his neck immediately dismissed any notion of fortunate mortality.

    >Loyal Family Pet watched intently as Nameless Rank and File Soldier collapsed into a contorted broken heap, and dashed to his aid while dabbing some Lesser Healing Potion onto his tongue from his satchel bound by his side, then proceeded to give Nameless Rank and File Soldier resuscitative doggy kisses.

    >Nameless Rank and File Soldier quickly came back to his senses, and charged the Cycloptic abomination once more with new found vigor and a full bar of health.

Nah, that's too badass. Well, it could work.

I think I'd prefer if the Nameless Soldier continually proves his devotion to his country and strong motivation for good, and ultimately you are given the option of declaring him king of the country, or prime minister, or whatever. He never became a terrible warrior, but his courage and heart mean he's the best candidate to rule. And then, at the end, for his scene, you get the coronation ceremony... >This was it.

    >This was the time Rank & File Soldier wouldn't be coming home.

    >He'd volunteered to go behind enemy lines and use his military training to blend in with the other soldiers so he could sabotage the works and hopefully buy some time for the rest to get away. It was suicide, but he was the only one with the experience to do it and have a chance of getting away.

    >He'd managed to get away with setting fire to the food storage wagons. After all, an army marches on its stomach. That would at least force them to slow down for a while to take stock. And forcing bits of gravel into the horseshoes was a bit of brilliance, if he did say so himself. His mistake was trying to steal the commander's map.

    >The arrow caught him in the chest and dropped him with a tinkle of glass and the delicate rustling from the map itself as it drifted to the ground. He stared at the sky and cursed his own stupidity as darkness overtook him. The archer was good. Dead center. Bleed out quickly. Peace. Quiet. The rest, up to them.

    >It must have been several hours later when he woke up alone in the middle of the road. He was sore and apparently alive. A hand on his chest and a pained breath revealed that the hole was still in his chest... and bits of glass were in the wound.

    >He vaguely recalled tucking a potion into his armor a week ago. The arrow must have broken it and some of it must have leaked into him. Enough to rekindle a spark of life, but little else. Apparently, Lady Luck was looking out for him, but wasn't particularly concerned with the condition he was in when she stopped paying attention to him.

    >He laughed, then winced. The rest must have gotten a few hours' lead. He'd have to pick up the pace to catch up with them.

    we could write a book.

but we need to clear what kind of game it will be

    2d round based RPG ?

No idea if anybody has suggested this or not yet, but we should have a character that breaks the fourth wall. He would probably fit better as an NPC, but he would say stuff like, "I'd warn you about the dangers ahead, but you can just reload your last save if you die anyway" and "no offense to you as a character, but the guy controlling you really needs to pick up after himself; seriously, I can see those soda cans and chip bags". His general additude would be similar to Deadpool's
