The Ancient Steam Knight's base form has been updated to look a little more beaten down. Additionally, two new upgrades have been added.

The first requires both the Paladin and the Dwarf Mechanic to be in the same party. Taking this path further boosts the Knight's defense and adds a host of defensive abilities, at the cost of exaggerating his hatred for evil.

The second requires both the Devil and the Time Mage. The Devil offers to grant the Mage the power boost required to send the Knight into the future to further upgrade his offensive capabilities. As a price, he removes the Knight's morality core. Cyberknight X is far more violent when it comes to annihilating his enemies.

However, I can tell you that most of the core development team was opposed to the idea of having a grinding-based xp system like in most RPGs. In all likelihood, character growth will be measured by Skill Trees. Defeating normal enemies will not give you points to put towards these trees, but completing quests and defeating mini-bosses, bosses, and villains will.

For instance, you could have a character that is normally selfish or bland who *can* potentially be turned into a BFF and reveal their true depth. In some cases, this might require so much commitment, gameplay and story-wise, that it could be considered an easter egg or an "optional boss" of character development.

Orc viking- The only redeeming part of the boring old viking is being raised by and bring along bears, his former troublemaking self helped him be a lot more interesting than his current form, how does the fact that he has a bland sense of humor and likes smashing shit make him a bro? There's a fuckton more potential for the troublemaker's story arc, including why he's a troublemaker in the first place, making a much richer character as a whole.
Cat girl- What kinda of village was she from? (jungle, grassland, plateu, etc) What a normal member of the village like, was there any other reason for leaving besides wanderlust?
Pervert mage- How did so much power? natural talent? or just hard practice? did he have a teacher? was the teacher a milf that caused his wanting to impress her, ergo becoming a better mage? usually "arch-mage" means a leader of magi, so are there any magical group in this universe? or is it just hermits that travel the word that find magically adept children and spread the wonders of magic? why offensive magic?
