There needs to be an Orky fighta-bomba game. You would have several different types of color-coded weapons:

Red machine gun.
Blue homing missiles.
Black piercing bombs.
Green autocannon.

The more you fire, the more powerful the weapon you've selected gets. The green one's the jack-of-all-trades, the black hits the hardest against single targets, the blue hits everything but not very hard (sometimes causing critical hits), and the red is best against waves of weaker enemies due to its high DPS.

Collecting powerups matching a weapon color upgrades that weapon. Yellow either upgrades all weapons or provides a massive temporary boost to firepower. Purple makes enemies more likely to shoot at where you're not, or makes them stop firing altogether because they can't see you.

There are non-color-coded powerups as well, that give you special weapons, repair your fighta-bomba, or blow up everything just like in a normal scrolling shooter.

Sort of yes, but most fluff describes ork tech working pretty much as you'd expect a weapon to actually work. The waaagh field stuff is a bit more of a... well a luck increase. keeps things working rather than outright magicking bullets out of nothing. Also, 40k makes use of unreliavble narrators, the fluff in question if I remember right is attributed to examinations by an admech who can't understand how ork tech works without machine spirit worship.

IIRC, didn't the fluff say ages ago that if an Ork had a stick, and he believed that the stick was a gun, he could shoot bullets out of it? This was retconned, to make the Orks less silly or something, but I always thought the WAAAGH! meant that if an Ork believed he could pull bullets out of his ass, he would be able to do just that.
