Relax. One Piece, while particularly entertaining to fa/tg/uys, is far from required reading.

To clarify, it's entertaining for fa/tg/uys not just for the adventure, but because it's exactly like a superhero game with bro players.

You know, this could explain how in most of the major arc there's always someone that has to do with wherever they are along with them. I think this is one player who can't make up his fucking mind.

    Captain Morgan arc: Coby
Buggy the Clown arc: Boodle (Mayor of the town) and Choucou
    Captain Kuro arc: Kaya
    Baratie arc: Johnny/Yosaku
    Arlong arc: Still Johnny/Yosaku
Loguetown arc: Smoker (DM wanted the character to be more than an NPC face)
    Laboon: Crocus
    Whiskey Peak arc: Vivi
    Little Garden arc: Still Vivi
Drum Island arc: Dalton, since Vivi didn't really do anything.
    Alabasta arc: Vivi again
    Jaya arc: Montblank Cricket
    Skypiea arc: Gan Fall
    Water-7 arc: Iceberg
    Enies Lobby arc: Oimo/Kashi
Thriller Bark arc: Player was absent for whole arc.
    Sabaody Archipelago arc: Keimi/Pappug

Impel Down saw the other players as those that helped out Luffy; Crocodile, Jimbe, Buggy, Mr. 3, Emporrio Ivankov, Bon-chan.

You now realize that Impel Down was the last time the party would see that player.

That player was Bon-chan and the tearful goodbye was real.

Oda's responses to fan questions is just fucking amazing.

D: Oda-sensei. Since Luffy is a Gomu Human, does that mean his "p*nis" can stretch, too?

O: His penis can stretch too.

    -----------------------------------

D: When I went to the barber a little while ago and asked for a Zoro haircut, I got shaved bald. What should I say to get a haircut like Zoro's?

O: ASK FOR THE CUT OF A "MAN'S HEART AND SPIRIT".

    -----------------------------------

D: Why does Sanji-san's eyebrow curl up at the end? Please give a real answer!! (Note: This letter is written so that the last word is actually "dork", but it looks like it is still "please".)

O: Hey!! You, sit right there!! Now listen!! Everyone lives in circles!! The sun, the moon, and the earth all spin around!! And!! If the earth suddenly stopped spinning!! It would be a disaster, tidal waves everywhere!! Now remember that Sanji's eyebrow channels that circular energy!! Reflect upon this!! You may go!!

    -----------------------------------

D: Wait a second!! Oda-sensei!! You know that scene in Volume 45, where Robin squeezes Franky in a very important place? CAN SHE FEEL WHAT SHE'S SQUEEZING? You simply MUST tell me!!

O: Yes, she can. All the arms and legs she sprouts are part of her body. She feels the things she touches, and when she's hurt, that damage is done to her own body. So you see... She really DID grab his balls!! Girls, NEVER DO THIS. They're very tender!!

    -----------------------------------

Sanji's player got VERY upset at the last one.

We know very little about the very top of the world government, who knows what kind of people are there. Considering that they have done some pretty nasty things, they could very well end up being the real bad guys in the end.

I think if they ever had to team up, it would be against whatever ancient civilization left the three big battleships (Pluton, Neptune, etc.) in the first place. Or something. And said civilization would be why fishmen and Devil Fruits exist, and why One Piece World is so fuckhuge.

In other words, Primordial War v2.0

We've seen Garp using Busoshoku Haki since he can hurt Luffy with his 'Fist of Love' and even wounded Marco despite his regenerative Pheonix body.

Also; "The fact that Sengoku had to keep Garp from going all-out on Akainu after Ace's demise strongly suggests that Garp's mastery over Haki is enough to overwhelm an Admiral-class Logia-user."

Sagan suggests that in antiquity a comet could have approached so close to Earth that the jets of gas streaming from it, bent by the comet's rotation, became visible, leading to the adoption of the swastika as a symbol across the world."

Though I agree on Bleach and Naruto being quite shitty, at least for the most part. I quite liked the beginning of Naruto, actually.

Blackbeard is the only person to ever get 2 fruit powers (darkness and whitebeard's quake), but its unclear how he managed to get the power from whitebeard short of it being a 'magic show'. Aside from that, I think the official canon on dual-devil fruits is that it'll kill the person who tries to eat two of them because the devils inside the fruits will fight each other to the death or some mumbo-jumbo like that.

I love both, but to me AT has the same artstyle as a lot of the MSpaint comics posted on /v/, just with less rage faces and cleaner lines. I'm not sure how you can look at both, and decide AT is somehow complex. There's a lot of small details in AT, like stuff hidden in the backgrounds, but that's the same in OP.

I mean, Finn and Jake are basically what you'd get if you split Luffy's traits across two people and made them best friends. Jake getting his powers and most of his downsides and Finn getting his adventurous personality.

The biggest problem with Bleach is End of Hypnosis. It's one of the best plot twists of all time, and because of that Bleach hit it's peak really early. In comparison it's all downhill from there, even if the quality stays roughly constant with the rest of the series.

The Gourousei seem pretty antagonistic and somewhat evil and they run the WG. The organisation as a whole is pretty shady.

And of COURSE the arabasta is in the WG. The world government is the vast majority of the world's nations. From what little we seen the countries outside the WG are complete shitholes that are pretty much isolated totally from the rest of the rest of the world. Or sky islands

That makes sense when you consider that the WG because of its position probably controls almost everything. The currecny used by most countries, trade sanctions, export import laws, regulation of trade routes, generally policing, technology....

There's hardly any communication between islands. It's why a constant trade between the Water 7 and single local island was so important.

Any communication and trade there is, it is controlled by the WG. There must be some kind of trade between some islands, probably moreso outside of the grandline where sea travel is far easier, otherwise why would pirates even exist?

And while you are right about the sea train, the speed and reliability of the sea train was also very important. The Puffing Tom could travel between Ennis Lobby and Water 7 in a single night, if you compare that, and what we know of the positions of Ennies Lobby, Water 7, Mariejoa and Impel Down the train that night's journey took over a week by ship.

The last few episodes highlighted that a few times - Stuff like thunder rain (as in: It rains thunderbolts) and places where you can just walk through the air. That's why we get a timeskip - The party has to prepare for that fucked up place. I don't think using flight would be a viable methode for going through.
It also explains why Rayleigh could just swim in between islands on the grand line - He was in the new world, so this is piece of cake in comparison.

I remember the part about the world being divided in four parts...
But I never thought it through. This picture is insane!
Just imagine starting a journey and then finding out you'll have to literally travel halfway across the world to reach your destination. By ship. And it gets harder along the way. And once you're there, you still haven't reached your goal.
Now I really get how fuckhuge the determination of these characters is.

It's about a kilometre high. It's not a mountain - It's a fuckhuge cliff. There's no way to make a basecamp along the way or something. And even if you reach up there, you can bet your ass that there will be *something* waiting to devour you (Just for the sake of plot).

A Log Pose (記録指針(ログポース) Kiroku Shishin (Rogu Pōsu)?, literally translated as "Logbook Compass Needle") is a compass-like navigational device; a necessity for traveling the Grand Line. It is a wrist watch with a glass orb sitting on top, and a needle floating inside the middle of that orb suspended from the top by a thin piece of metal or wire. Normal compasses don't work in the Grand Line due to the special magnetic waves created from each island. The Log Pose functions by recording the magnetic wave of an island in the Grand Line, and points to the next island for the user to travel to. How long it would take to lock onto the magnetic waves varies from island to island. Once on an island for the required amount of time, the recording of the magnetic wave resets to accomodate the new island. Apparently, the standard Log Pose doesn't work in the New World.

Pirate King just means conquering the Grand Line. There's been no indication that you NEED to get to One Piece. They seem to be strongly connected, but not quite the same.

Basically, people want to get to Raftel to conquer the Grand Line. No-one we've seen actually wants the treasure left there.

Before his death, Pirate King Gol D. Roger hid One Piece. It was rumored to be located at Raftel, the island at the end of the Grand Line. The frenzy over discovering and owning such a massive treasure sparked the "Great Age of Pirates". Until One Piece has been claimed, there will be no current Pirate King.
    >> Anonymous 09/29/11(Thu)18:31 No.16469277
What exactly goes into being a Pirate King, though, that makes claiming One Piece so important? Is it the respect involved? Is it that the effort involved in getting it is so great, the other pirates will be too scared to cross you? Do you just need a lot of treasure to buy your way into the position? Hell, once you BECOME a pirate king, what kind of duties or benefits does that role entail? Seems weird that pirates would bend the knee very easily by their very nature.

And the other half of the reason End of Hypnosis being the high point of the series is a problem. There's pretty much no way you can interact with the series at all without it being spoiled.

Even if you somehow don't go in knowing Aizen is the villain, you'll know he's alive or even that there are traitors. It happened over 6 years ago in a continuing series, it's been spoiled for everyone.

At the time Aizen was that guy with glasses who died to show there was serious business going down on the sidelines, Gin was involved somehow, Tousen was that black guy who hangs out with Big Helmet Guy, and it was completely believable that the series would end within 2-3 volumes of Ichigo beating Byakuya.
