"But I'm right here. Watch. I'll fire the next bullet from ten feet away." He says, and you hear the hammer audibly click. Enraged, you slice at everything around you, becoming a momentary blur of claws and stone.

You land a second or two, connecting with nothing, and then wincing as you hear a pop and feel a bullet enter into your left shoulder.

"Too bad. I gave you a free shot, but you messed it up. Now, let's see if upping the ante makes your game better."

You hear a second pop, and Fredrick grunts, grasping at his gut and letting loose a tiger-like roar as you see blood trickle down past his fingers.

"Round 2, Gabriel."

You motion for the others to get away. The doors at the end of the chain corridor, and down on the pavement near Renee and Fredrick slam shut.

"Please. You think I can't see what you're doing?" Malone chuckles, and you hear a clicking sound next to your head. You snarl, swiping at the sound, but connecting with nothing as Malone drives another bullet into your other knee. Your vision blurs from the pain, and you manage to grab a board from one of the nearby crates.

"I can't sense him on the stone." Michael says.

"You coward! Come out and fight!" Hugh shouts out at the room.

"Against you monsters? I'll remain a coward." Malone responds. "Now then, who to shoot next."

"Godfried! What the hell is he doing?" Renee shouts up at him, pounding at the door.

"I... I don't know!" Godfried says back, sounding panicked. "He shouldn't be able to do all of this!"

You just yell. You're beyond words with this guy. Your claws shred through fencing, and dig grooves into the brick. Malone's mocking laughter rings throughout the room.

"I wonder how long until you snap, turn back into the raging animal that killed my son!" He says to you.

"He saw you... Even while he wasn't there?" Godfried shouts over to you.

"Yes!" You shout back to Godfried.

Godfried's eyes widen, and he steadies himself on the wire tubing. "Ah ha! I've got it! He's a magician!"

"A magician?" Renee asks.

Godfried looks over at you, shouting. "Yes! His power is-"

Godfried's words are interrupted by a single pistol shot. You see his eyes widen, and notice a reddish line start to form around the brim of his hat. His knees give, and you see his hat flutter off, revealing a small, red hole in his forehead. His shocked expression stays as he falls down to his knees, and then slumps down onto his back, his guns dropping down at his sides.

"Godfried!" Renee shouts, his face twisting into a mask of sorrow. "No! No!"

"Looks like his luck ran out." Malone's voice sneers.

Well, in-character, we might piece enough together about how magicians work from movies, but I'm not sure we'll realize enough to see that it requires semantic components. If magic doesn't abide by that logic in this universe, then we'll have to either dispel it (good luck) or disrupt his concentration. Considering our options, we'll need to rely on the latter.

We need to figure out how to stop him from doing any more damage.

"Fredrick!" Run over to him. Fall into shambles at the sight. All the times we had together... ;__;

Then, give one of those good old screeches. When we killed Malone's son, we were blood-crazed. Now, our anger is right and just.

"Godfried!" You shout, leaping over to him. You feel your heart start to give in to despair as you watch his face slowly stop moving, his eyes rolling up into his head and his body going limp.

"He's only the first." The Don says. "But will you snap on the second, or the third?"

"Malone, you son of a bitch!" Renee shouts, firing his gun around the room wildly.

"Godfried? No... He can't be!" Fredrick shouts, still in pain. "The gun shoulda jammed! He's... He's not dead! You're not dead, you hear me? You're too lucky to die!" Tears well up at the corners of the transformed warrior's beast-like eyes.

You fall down over Godfried's body in disbelief, your breath coming quicker and quicker as the realization hits you. He's dead. Malone murdered him and there wasn't a thing you could do to stop it. You reach over, gently, and grab his hat, some of his blood still dripping from the brim. You place it over his face, and notice the blood dripping down onto the links of chain. You see the blood ripping over the bits of chain, and clinging to it much like the water clung to Jerry's face. As you stare at it, you realize something. The blood is arranged much like letters. The letters read: "IIIUSION".
