    Last one 404'd.

    IRC is on suptg, #FiveNationsGeneral
Anyone in the room can give you the updates rules and the like.

Last we were planning we were about to stage an attack on the Akatsuki.

    B: Melee Specialist
    Hanzo: Ranged Specialist
    Shimaru: Sensor

This was the team roles and composition I voted for.

Now, one plan we have is to kill the guards at the entrances, plug them up, and fill the base with Hanzo's poison. Then we just wait for someone trying to escape, and kill them.

Alright, so OP, are we contacting B and Hanzo?
Also, ask Minato "So how long were you waiting to teleport in to get your tags?"
    >> KumaSennin !!hAxKShXKS9j 10/13/11(Thu)04:25 No.16610458
You, Baki, B, and Hanzo depart under cover of night towards the base. With the knowledge of its layout you use your water jutsu to make sure the tide doesn't provide an outlet for them to flee.

Hanzo makes the signs at your bidding and Ibuse looms above you all as he puts his massive head to the mouth of the cave and blows in a huge gout of poisonous gas. It takes a little while, but the gas permeates the area and people are incapable of escape as Hanzo dismisses Ibuse.

The four of you descend into the base, your masks keeping you mostly safe from the effects of the poison. However, it is a little disorienting. (-1 to pools.)

Many of the weaker shinobi have already collapsed, seized by the poison's terrible effects. However, the few standing seem to have scrambled for masks of their own. Amongst them are Deidara, whom you recognize instantly from his tall blond ponytail, and his bodyguard, Kisame. Kisame's gills are wriggling as he clearly has maimed a dying shinobi to absorb his chakra and keep his healing going, "Contact Leader! Deidara-san, be read- there they are!" He says and points at you all as Samehada growls, Kisame ready for a brawl.

Deidara isn't calling, he and Kisame are both standing guard as five agents are gathered in a circle and are doing a ninjutsu to send a message to leader. Their eyes are covered and they are focused, you could kill them easily.

    Rank+Genjutsu Knowledge

    And then give orders.

I'll roll once OP is back.

Oh man, Kisame? Why'd it have to be him, and now, of all times?

Okay, here's an idea I've got: we summon salamanders, 5 of them. Attach explosive tags to them. Hanzo and B fight Kisame, Baki distracts Deidara.
The salamanders slither up to the 5 shinobi trying to get off a message, drop off the tags unnoticed, and then we detonate the tags to kill them and prevent them from getting a message off.
    >> Anonymous 10/13/11(Thu)11:04 No.16612847
    rolled 3, 8, 6, 5, 8, 6 = 36

Ok, we focus on taking out the 'messengers'. I vote just blitzing in and taking them out with a wide cleave, unless our Genjutsu roll tells us otherwise - such as 'killing them won't work', or 'killing them completes the message. (Dice Rolled: 5 rank, 3 skill, -1 for gas mask. Trying to roll under 4, if the stat is Gen. Also, using older character sheet, so not sure if there are any changes there.)

Also WE DON'T ATTACK SEMPAI! Not just because it's Kisame-Sempai, but because he should be able to just read who we are from attacking him.

    >>16610541
I thought our new technique was Flickerblading or 'Supreme Cut'.
    >> Anonymous 10/13/11(Thu)11:10 No.16612903
    >>16612847
First, we're not the melee specialist in this team, so we can't use Flurry. We can't just cleave into all of the messenger ninja.
Second, the genjutsu roll is for initiative, not figuring out the ninjutsu that the messenger shinobi are using.

I still think it better that put those explosive tags to good use, and use our summons with them. It's a completely different fighting style than what we became famous for, and so it will be harder to trace back to us.

    >>16613869
Alright, the current rules to be changed are Determination, Chakra Control, and Chakra Pool (to a very small amount)

Determination is now a stat that increases during the course of battle. For the sake of discussion, the Determination on your sheet is Determination Stat (DS), and the one you gain is Determination Resource (DR).

You gain DR at a rate of 1+(1/3 DS), always rounding down. DR is also a restraining factor as your best techniques and moves have a DR requirement to be used. Additionally, and finally, DR is gained at the end of the turn, and you can spend it on defensive actions at a rate of 1 extra roll per point of determination blown.

Chakra Control can now be used as resource management, to convert HP->Determination, Determination->Chakra, and Chakra->HP (via medical jutsu).

Lastly, you can use Chakra from your pool to increase a technique, however that one is still in testing as to how much and to what effect. For now, it's on the to do list.

So that one success means we're probably going last.

    >>16614236
There is no chakra control skill. I don't think I was clear, sorry.

When you want to do one of the actions under Chakra Control you roll Rank targeting your Chakra Control stat, NOT your chakra pool which only has the singular purpose of being a resource.

For each success you get, it allows you to transfer 1. Example, you roll Rank targeting Chakra control and get 3 successes. You can now gain 3 determination, for 24 hp, or 3 chakra, for 3 determination, or heal X HP for 3 chakra. X being Medical Ninjutsu+Rank.

Baki is first to react and lunges forward at Deidara. A vibrating aura of wind around his hand means danger as he gets into range with Deidara and exchanges a flurry of kicks and Deidara's feeble blocks before Baki slams his fingers through Deidara's sternum, causing the boy to cough up blood before his skin pales and Baki has his hand stuck through a clay clone.

Baki looks around confused before a flash of movement, two white birds of clay, shoot out from the ground at him as he puts his hands together and spits out a thin blade of wind which reaches for the birds, but not before Deidara's voice rings out, "Boom!" The birds go up in a flash of fire and chakra as he is thrown backwards, coughing, his mask charred a bit, but otherwise none the worse for wear.

Hanzo draws his kusari-gama and throws it forward, trying to ensnare Samehada and after successfully latching onto it he tugs back hard, trying to disarm Kisame. However, that is a largely futile effort as Kisame just tugs back harder and brings Hanzo forward. The legendary ninja is kneeling before Kisame who raises his massive blade and smashes it down, breaking apart a water clone as he chuckles. However, his chuckle fades when he sees his legs covered in explosive tags. Hanzo sets them off and Kisame's legs are blown clear away, before he himself dissolves into water. The real Kisame is panting already, his beady eyes narrowed.

"Alright mother fuckers, we're gonna see. If your punk assess can take the Killa B!" The idiot roars out as he lunges forward and his swords fly loose from their scabbards as he lands in the middle of the communicator ninjas and he whips his body around like a top and executes them on the spot, none of their necks sturdy enough to handle the B's attack.

    Your move.

You put your fingers together and detect him hiding under the ground, alerting Baki and everyone to his whereabouts.

"Roger!" Baki calls out as he throws an explosive tag with your guidance and detonates it. Deidara is forced to jump away as Baki fires a huge orb of compressed wind, "Wind Style: Explosive Pressure Cannon!" The ball flies at Deidara who sneers, "Shit." He calls out before throwing an explosive in front of himself, covering up and calling out, "Boom!"

The massive explosion fills the room with white-hot light as Baki lands somewhere next to you with an oomf of pain. Deidara is presumably also hurt by the attack. When the light clears Hanzo is making seals and throws a single explosive tag at Kisame who blocks it, but when the tag lands it duplicates to roughly a hundred tags, Kisame's eyes narrowing as he throws Samehada away and the tags go off. Naturally Samehada is unharmed, but Kisame is now vulnerable. He makes seals and calls out, "Water Style: Explosive Water Shockwave!" With a retching sound he spews out a massive tidal wave of water which threatens to fill the whole cave system as he keeps the flow coming.

Killer B sees this and throws his hands up in the air, calling out, "Oh yeah! Here we go! They're gonna know, my wicked tight flow!" His right arm becomes shrouded with purple lightning before he rushes Kisame and smashes him in the face with his palm, "Stiff Arm!" He calls as Kisame rolls into the water, the water levels still at about waist height before he shakes his head, coughing as blood runs down his face.

It's on us, and I need to get moving for work. Please keep this one alive.

You maintain your focus on Deidara, locking your tracking on him as your allies get up and get ready for the next series of attacks.

Baki puts his hands together and a long blade of wind appears around his arm as he rushes towards Deidara who tries to make a clay clone, but with your guidance he is forced to simply try to block, the wind cutting through his arm, almost to the bone as he stumbles back in pain, throwing a huge snake made out of clay at Baki. Unfortunately, the man's reflexes aren't as good as they needed to be, the words of doom coming from Deidara's lips, "Boom!" Baki is blown clear backwards and hits the wall, leans forward and spits up a huge gout of blood as he rolls onto his side, dazed and pained by his wounds. Deidara sneers as he puts his hands together and creates a huge bird out of clay and calls out, "Kisame-dana, I am getting out of here! Clean up, will you?" He asks as he turns to fly away.

"Where are you going, boy?" Hanzo says as he moves with speed you didn't even think possible. He's in front of Deidara and stabs him in the neck with his kusari gama, however you quickly tell him that the real Deidara is in his bird. Hanzo begins hacking the bird apart.

Kisame sees this and slaps the water, "Summoning Jutsu: Five Hungry Sharks!" He calls and sure enough five sharks of pure chakra and water rise up and rush down Hanzo, lunging at him. Though he's fast enough to break three of them, two get a solid bite and the other three reform.

Killer B sees this and swears loudly as he winds up his arm and calls out, "Check my right hook!!! Sucker!" He says and hits Kisame in the back of the neck, ripping his head off, but dissolving what turned out to be a water clone.

The real Kisame emerges from his Samehada, next to Baki. With a cruel laugh he smashes his sword down on the man's head, cracking it and ending the life of the Sand Jonin without a question.

(9 (his Ninjutsu)+5 (Explosive Arts)+ 3 C2 Damage+Chakra input to the technique.)*2. He's been sorta forced to dodge several times, which each cost 1 chakra. Additionally, he used 2 exploding attacks, 1 more chakra, and then made the bird for another 2. So that's 3.

So, it's (9+5+3+3) 40 damage to all parties within blast radius, you and Hanzo and of course himself, but he dead.

Meanwhile have Mamoro grab B and Hanzo in his mouth and take them out of the water.

That leaves our own actions open however.

Also, an idea is to use a coordinated 6-way attack using all of our clones. We could have them use up all of their chakra in super-Water Dragons to keep them from being eaten by Samehada.

Killa B, meanwhile, looks at you for instructions as he indicates to you that he can electrocute the water, whenever you want it.

Your clones fire blasts of water dragons, popping themselves in doing so. However the attacks are effortlessly absorbed by Kisame as he moves to attack.

You climb inside Mamoro's mouth who assists his cousin in smashing down the wall. Before Kisame can move to attack Killa B shoots forward and forces out his massive chakra in a maximized lightning attack.

The energy causes Mamoro to grunt in pain, his body tingling unpleasantly as he is paralyzed by the attack, Kisame is affected similarly. Ibuse continues attacking.

B's attack, however, is interrupted by Kakuzu unleashing a combination Wind/Water attack which knocks your friend into the salamanders, driving the air from his chest. Kisame thanks his comrade and rushes towards you guys.

However, before he reaches, Ibuse smashes through the stone creating a vaccum which pulls everyone through the hole. Ibuse and Hanzo manage to swim to the shoreline, but you, B, and Kisame/Kakuzu are still suspended in Kisame's bubble trap.

    Very good.

You see it coming, and despite his massive speed and your shock you manage to juke his attack, causing him to look at you with curious eyes, though his eyes, now that you see them, appear dimmer than they used to be. You back up and leap backwards where Hanzo rises up from the waters. "What is happening?" Hanzo demands as Leader steps forward.

"I think it's time to end this little game. Heavenly Pull: Inexorable Force!" You feel it, a strength more than anything you've ever felt, tugging you inwards, towards Leader and his waiting guards, as well as a Minato, hellbent on your destruction. You see Mamoro has been forced to dismiss himself, Killa B laying face-down on the shore, motionless, possibly dead. Yet as the pull happens you feel the tag glowing in your pocket and grab Hanzo, knowing what a summons feels like.

"And you believed that I could really not crack it?" An all to welcome and familiar voice says from around you once you land. Hands quickly run up and down your cloak and pull out the tagged kunai and rip it to pieces before throwing the shreds into a waiting fire. Genpachi is the man standing in front of you. He gives you a weary smile and a hug, "Hello my friend, I see things went just as badly as I feared they could have." You are in a location that you don't recognize, surrounded by people you know but are amazed to see.

Gen is standing in a huge circle with tags written all around it, and sitting in tagged circles around the larger circle is Jiraiya, A, Fuyo, Shikaku, and Aya. All of them have their hands extended, channeling chakra to Gen as he was apparently casting an extremely costly ritual. Gen slumps a bit before walking over to a table and sitting atop it, "I see you noticed things are a little off."

Gen looks up at you and speaks, "I knew something was wrong a while ago. I was talking to the Mizukage and something seemed off about her...so I talked to Aya and she confirmed it for me." He said with a sigh, "I couldn't crack the Hiraishin Tag's formula, it was just too good. He's a seal maker beyond my level, but I did write a superseding seal atop his, so I would know when he flashed to that one. I figured if he was doing that it would be with aggressive intentions. When he gave you the mission parameters...it just seemed wrong. So I did some asking around and spying on the side, it turns out pretty much all the Kages are just nuts for Leader, so much so that they'll willingly capture and imprison their own soldiers." He says with a sigh, "Your swordsmen are all captured. They're alright, but they're in restraints. This was a set up to dig up and destroy your secret society." He says before rubbing his neck.

I think trying to slip in is a lot more likely to succeed than an attack. We have ANBU gear, so that should help get us closer. We can have the other members of The Four Winds provide a distraction, just enough to draw attention away, we don't need more people dying. An unmasked clone of Shimaru could draw away the guards immediately around the 7, then we need some kind of support from Hideki to release them. If we don't want him to directly endanger himself, we can try and get 'Keys' to their seals from him beforehand. I hope we'll be able to use Summons to escape, perhaps 2 giant summons will be able to pull 8 people with them when dismissed, I'm not sure, but however much it takes, Gendo can help us there. Hanzo and Jiraiya can use the same tactic to get the others out as well.

The Mist, from what Aya informs you, with Gen's support, is on total blackout and lockdown. Mei has issued KOS orders on all people who enter or approach the village within 100 meters. ANBU and Akatsuki Agents are swarming through the streets and Dawn Bringers will unquestionably be either there or in transit.

This battle will be extremely difficult. The quest may end here.

Any underground passages she knows Black Ops knows very well too, and will have inevitably covered with traps or men, or both.

You have one advantage the Mist doesn't. You have some heavy duty firepower that you can bring to bear, if you are able to capitalize on it intelligently.

I'll leave you with a summary of your assets.

    1) High level summoners. Yourself, Jiraiya, Hanzo, and Fuyo all have a huge repertoire of summons that you can bring as heavy engines to break through a stalemate.

    2) You have a lot of powerful ninjutsu that can cover wide areas which kills fodder.

    3) You have a lot of potential for high speed movement, be it through Shunshin, reverse summoning, and Gen's shenanigans as your Tactician.

    4) You have fucking Genpachi, the shinobi swiss army knife.

    5) You have the advantage of determining the point of attack and the method thereof forcing the fight on your terms.

However, despite this, I'd give you guys 30-70 odds. You'll need a lot of good planning and discussion to make a coherent battle plan. And with that food for thought, OP goes to work. Have fun, I'll be monitoring this thread.

Going somewhere they aren't expecting seems the smarter course of action. If Kushina is still of her own mind (and Shikaku or Jiraiya should be able to tell us) then she would probably want to free Minato's. The Power of Love and a little impetus might be what it takes. Figuring out how to break Satori's control would be nice, and getting Minato back great. Plus, Kushina herself is a Seal Master, can't have to many of those around.

We should definitely ask Jiraiya and Shikaku who among the Leaf are still free of Akatsuki's control.
Also, we should mention what Minato said about Itachi. It could indicate another crisis that Akatsuki is going to create, so that it can get rid of more people that are threats to it.

As for whether to bust the Seven Swordsmen out, I'm still conflicted. I can think of a couple different plans, but in the face of 2 Kage's, and Satori, they all just fall apart.
I mean, can we use one of our little salamanders as a space-time beacon to summon ourselves to it, and then use it to reverse-summon away?

It also increases the chance of the swordsmen being brainwashed or given to Orochimaru to do whatever he wants. Especially if what Gen said about the kage's giving up shinobi to keep the leader happy. Yuki might just land in his hands.

Although it'll be dangerous as hell, I don't know if we can afford to leave the swordsmen. The thought of being on the other end of that team based mist attack we worked on isn't pleasant.

Right, but we need a bulletproof plan if we're going to rescue them. Even then the odds are pretty stacked against us.

Gen and Aya lay out what they noticed from the village's defenses before leaving. They had small three-man cells of two ninjutsu specialists and a Taijutsu specialist to defend the cell. Additionally they had roving bands of Genjutsu and Seal experts to restrain and neutralize threats as the combat-cells would move to respond. Finally, a vast sensor network covers the village, every since person linked by Kaji's Battlemind.

Shikaku shakes his head, "Jeez...this is a nightmare of strategy." he says as he looks, "Does Kaji's elimination remove the Battlenet, because's that's the biggest thorn in our side." he observes.

    >> Anonymous 10/15/11(Sat)04:40 No.16630652
Getting a Genjutsu through the Battlemind to infect everyone in the network seems a good starting strategy, so we should look for an outlying singular individual we could do this on early in our assault.

I think it's fair to say that we can't all go rescue the Swordsmen. We should split into two tams, one team brings the noise, the other sneaks in. I would suggest those with the big summons, Fuyo, Hanzo and Jiraya to head this up, alongside Genpachi, who would be aiming to use his larger-sealed Jutsu to catch enemy opponents into crossfires.

We would be expected in this assault, so our lack of presence there would be conspicious...so, we shall be there, after a fashion. We will summon our 'boss' ahead of time, yet leave either a water-clone there to stand atop of him and dodge fire while we ourselves go with a second team to rescue the swordsmen, or otherwise have a member of our teamed disguised as us- I would go with the latter and choose Aya, as we absolutely NEED that battlemind to be shut down before the rescue team can move at all, otherwise as soon as we run into an enemy ninja, we're discovered regardless of whether we take him out before he notices us.

The rescue team will consist of ourselves, A, and Shikaku- A because we'll need his speed, us for raw power and Shikaku due to his shadow techniques- though it may be possible or even advisable to switch Aya and Shikaku around in the formation here, depending. However, as an ANBU Captain, he will have been trained in the use of ANBU cloaks, and it is these we shall be using as we advance to keep a low profile (along with any relevant shadow techniques Shikaku might be able to provide). We don't move until we have signal that the battlemind is disrupted though, and we should move in from a separate direction away from our diversion.

Next order of business is WHEN we attack. During the day, the village is absolutely swarming with movement. So we're left with two choices: dusk, or dawn. I would say dawn simply for the nostalgia factor, but it depends upon the preferences of the shinobi we're working with. Ask everyone when they think they would be most effective, get individual responses from as many people as possible.

Okay, forcing the genjutsu to infect the Battlemind like a mimetic virus is a good start.
Even with Fuyo, Hanzo, and Jiraiya, as well as whatever souped up version of Metal Storm that Gen has created during the timeskip, they still need a good escape plan for when Mei, Minato, and Satori arrive.
Come to think of it, we need the same for getting the Swordsmen out as soon as we get to them.

Okay, so we need to know the limits of reverse-summoning, how many people we can take, and how long it takes to do it. We'll be fighting 2 Kage's at minimum, probably Satori as well, and the entire expanded ANBU of Kirigakure.

Also, I remember that we can summon small salamanders on a more-or-less permanent basis, and that we can use them as recon. They're small, and I don't think they have a negligible chakra signature, so they could infiltrate the Village and the ANBU HQ and give us the recon information we need before planning this operation any further. We need OP to confirm that first, of course.

Okay, so in order to reverse-summon, it needs to be Guardian-class. Still doable, since it doesn't require a point of Nindo. How many people can it reverse-summon, and how long does it take?

Also, how long can we maintain a Guardian summon?

Can we do the salamander scouting without getting detected?
Or rather, perhaps we should plan on the salamanders getting detected.

Also, what can the genjutsu that we implant into Kaji's battlemind do? Can we freeze everyone? Or make them see illusions of us attacking ANBU? And if one person breaks the genjutsu, would it break it for everyone?
