(Bow & Arrow Obtained.) He has also brought back a few small birds. "They apparantly can be used to send messages from long distances." Your scout explains. (Messanger Pidgeons Obtained) "They are eager to find an ally, especially after an Orc declaration of war on them."

    B.
Your People work fervently on their Citadel, expanding, through the use of magic, into the underground itself. D1. It's only a matter of time before those Orcs become a problem, but as it stands they're not at our doors yet. If we do find then and they state intent against us, then we attack them.

F/G: Let's try and establish a trade route with the Humans and see if they can supplement our maps with theirs. A settlement closer to the river might help our food stocks.

C: Might we be able to enchant the arrows?

E: Let's make our own version of those messenger birds (since we have sand mounts, why not Sand Birds?) or at the very least upgrade our Levitation into Flight so we can have flying Sand Mounts

Alt. F: How far underground can we dig?
Alt. F: What's in the direction opposite the Humans?

G - Making you draw is fun plus we will be more difficult to wipe out if we are not concentrated in a single location.

E1 - Send an envoy to the Orcs and try and negotiate a truce and offer them information about the human settlement. Better to be at the right hand of the Devil then is his path. Without our progress unmolested by war we can tech ahead and turn on our green skinned allies when the opportunism time comes.

I say we keep to our neutrality. We are vile neutrals after all, the Humans might want us to help them afterwards if we ally with them.

Have the humans clear out of their town leaving nothing but the buildings, unless they're tents or some shit like that in which case bring them along, and have them live in a little shanty town thing around our citadel and wait for the orcs to ransack an empty town. Then they can move back and we'll help them rebuild. Non-violence and confusing dumb orcs for the win.

Seeing as the Orcs will hate us for our LIZARD QUEEN I say side with the humans.
Attempt to get them to join us in our city, attempting to make it the capital for our slowly expanding mixed race empire.

    ALWAYS WITH THE MAGIC.
Although, I think making a huge wall (using magic, along with the basic skills we have) around our Citadel will be good.

    B. Improve the Citadel, but with magic. Enchant devices that keep up a whirling sandstorm around the border of the desert, so that only caravans marked by our convoys can enter. The desert is our domain. The humans can keep their precious grass, but I hold that too much greenery deadens an elf's soul. It is only in the vast expanse of a desert that our minds can truly think beyond the constraints of crushing mundanity.

I hold true to two basic principles of government, gentle-elves. Firstly, that any magical solution is inherently superior to any non-magical solution by virtue of it being magic. Secondly, that it is in our interest to maintain steady neutrality towards all other civilizations, trading with all alike, and waging no war of aggression. An addendum to this secondary principle is that the deserts of the world are automatically our domain, if only because they're basically shitholes that no-one else wants anyways.

Guys, we need to choose B. We are living like Paleolithic-era humans, we need to start acting civilized and the first step is to expand our homes to suit our needs.

Focusing on increasing our technological prowess shouldn't be our main goal but we should divert from magic research for atleast another turn and we should gain something that would increase our food supplies and let us expand more like animal husbandry.

Why are we talking about a theoretic disease of which isn't included into the story for no other reason as some strawman argument against magic? I understand, and agree that always focusing on magic will lead us to super-specializing and crippling us. If we focus on magic, someone might make something of which that could counter magic, like an anti-magic field or some such. This is a reasonable idea as anyone wanting to go up against an all magic kingdom better be packing some way to counter that. That, and while it is useful to use magic to do things, we can't use magic for everything. However, don't make shit up to try and argue a point. I could say there there is a disease of which that kills everyone who doesn't use magic, but that makes about as much sense as the disease that kills those who do use magic.

Now, for the dragon. Send an envoy, discuss with it. C1. It might want something from us, it might want to kill us. Who knows, but we should find out.

I suggest that we work on our defenses. Why? Towns don't build walls to be pretty. They build them to keep people out that they don't want out. Build walls, make traps, whatever is needed to increase our defense.

That's a very good point, one that I'm actually going to address without resorting to the lolmagic non-argument. I think that specialization is absolutely key, and that by starting on this magic-heavy path we'll get more and more out of it than if we divided our attention between two fields of advancement. I'm of the opinion that, in this world, technology and magic are roughly equivalent, but I would argue that by splitting our attention we merely delay the pinnacle of either field. I'd rather be a master of magic and magic alone than struggling along decently well in two distinct fields.

FINALLY! A swirling vortex of safety!

    Two questions:
What happened to the dwarf and lizardman we saved earlier?
Have the Lizardmen just been sat on their ass not doing anything? 25 was the number we had in the militia right from the get go, and I are we able to interbreed?

Having said that, I'd like us to focus on tech and actually explore out a bit, let's find out what else is going on in this world.

The Magical shadowbeings would be the anti-thesis. The anti-mater to sci-fi's mater.
