    HE AWAKENS.

Deep in the bowels of the earth lays a figure, in the darkness. Mighty was his power once, great was his dominion. He held the land in terror, in darkness and blood. Such was his greatness that the Paladins of Cydonia traveled to the opposite end of the world to seal him in the deepest, darkest dungeon, surrounding the exit with everburning torches so he could never escape.

SANGUINUS. Lord of Blood, Fear, and Shadow. His left arm shorn away, his horns broken off, his tongue torn from his maw, he was cast into these depths. His power is weakened, his strength, crippled, his fury...

    Untouched.

He rises from his stone bed, awake once more.

    What is his greatest goal:
To become whole, complete, and to leave this plane?

To strike fear into the hearts of men once more?

Or is it something greater, something grander, something... deeper?

It takes you some time to think. So long have you been trapped away. But two thoughts rise to you.

They will pay. The Humans, all of them, will suffer for this humiliation. You will piece yourself together, and seek vengeance!

And the fate of your brothers. All of their names elude you for the moment, but there is ATAR, Lord of Hate and War, DAMASK, Lady of Secrets and Adultery, ZOROON, Lord of Madness and Chaos. These three are the first you can recall, though you know there are more. You walk out from your chamber, into the dungeon proper - and come upon a three way intersection.

    WEST, NORTH, OR EAST?

You mentally assign the name Brueti to yourself - it is a fitting name, meaning 'Torn Asunder' in the parlance of your people. You walk East, and think back on your powers.

    SHADOW DOMINION:

Your dominion over shadow is currently WEAK. You can STRETCH SHADOWS, and WALK THROUGH THEM with a range of TWENTY FEET, though you need line of sight to do so. Momentum is preserved between shadows.

    BLOOD DOMINION:

Your dominion over blood is currently TRIFLING. You can control your own blood enough to stop your own bleeding.

    FEAR DOMINION:

You have lost this dominion entirely.

You reach a door - and stop, for you hear voices behind it.

First listen to the voices to determine if they pose a threat. If not, open the door normally. If the voices on the other side react to you with hostility, destroy them. (We do have combat abilities enough to fight with some confidence, yeh?) If they react peacefully (or at least not hostile) speak to them ask them questions.

Your rear back your leg, grinning wide. as a Lord of Fear, there are certain things you revel in. Surprise and shock are two of these things - the door gives easily to your hard, straight kick, slamming it into the opposite wall. It falls in the silence, the Goblins staring at you.

"Blessings be upon this house." he say with a wide grin, your missing tongue being no deterrent - you vibrate the shadows to speak. "I am SANGUINUS, Lord of Fear, Shadow, and Blood."

They only stare in shock, between fleeing and fighting.

    YOU HAVE REGAINED FEAR DOMINION.

You may now, at any time, channel a presence of overwhelming power and destruction, causing fear in those who witness you.

Sadly, your little... foray has cost the goblins their whole force here, and you, some information. There is more further east, or you could return to the intersection proper.

You search the area, finding little. You drink in what blood you can, but it is not enough for your Dominion to increase - you'll need more of a more potent blood to sate that. But at least it's not nagging you anymore, in the back of your mind. You drop the cleaver - you are strong enough with bare hand that few can match you, and enter the next room.

Empty. Well, not entirely. There is little here save fore a huge, canine creature, blood staining its dark fur, red eyes nearly closed in its weakness. A few goblins poke at it with sticks, and it's clear it wants to lunge at them and eat them, but it is too weak. Ither than that, nothing here.

You pause for a moment, a wide grin splitting your face as you walk forth. A goblin foolishly tries to stab you, and your boot comes down, hard, slamming into and through its foot before your hand claps around its neck. a solid squeeze and the head pops right off, and you drink happily.

    DOMINION INCREASED: BLOOD.

You can now channel spilled blood into shapes. More potent blood is more difficult. There is no upper limit, but the more blood, the more focus that is required.

Your force the rest of the creature down your gullet, and grin at the other, who has soiled himself, frozen to its place.

    >>16717888

You watch closely, Then grin as one of them grabs the cleaver. Yes! He is small, green, but fierce and wild. His eyes blaze ref as he dances among his brothers, opening lines on their backs all the way to the spine. He moves as if the ground barely exists, bouncing and skipping madly. You draw away the blood, in time, bringing it into a sphere above him, until finally, his brethren are dead, and the sphere above him is at least ten times his size.

"You who have survived - What is your name?"
"Sarl o'Harl, my lord." he states, evenly.

"Do you swear to work for my ideals? To stand beside me in times harsh and fair? To never betray me?"

    "Yes, sire."

    "Then take my blessing!"

the blood he had drained, the mixed blood of his brothers, pours into him. His red skin darkens, his eyes grow brighter, and glow softly in the darkness. Veins on his body stand out harshly, and new ones form only to slowly separate from him, long winding tentacles filled with the blood of his brothers. These begin to migrate to his back, until finally, they form a pair of batlike wings, wide and strong, and a beard of them from his chin.

You know this creature - a Bloodling. A creature capable of storing blood in a spacial anomaly where its heart used to be, enough blood to fill a dozen normal creatures of his size.

With this transformation done, what is your next move?

A ray of light lances at you, and you block it with one hand. You take their torch from the hand of the caster, tossing it behind you, over your shoulder. Your shadow falls upon the warrior, red eyes gleaming inside - and he is pulled in, screaming. You catch the oversized blade on his way down, gripping it with ease as the hound consumes him.

    Blood spurts from the floor.

    DOMINION: INCREASED: SHADOW.

You can now directly interact with the shadows of others, with your physical touch. You shadow cannot manipulate others unless the Hound rests inside.

You smile wide, the shadows enveloping the room. The torch behind you is but a tiny isle of light... and regretfully, so is the cleric. You feel her resolve is being tested - but more still remains. How best to break her...?

Basically, we need something flashy to happen, and use that as a jumping off point to where we can say that we can change him back. Doing it right now, no matter how much I wish to, will be detrimental without proper reasoning.

You grin as the shadows dance around you and the room at large, horned creatures and other things appearing on the walls as you speak.

"Tell me, child. What do you know of gods and devils? What have the last few centuries of indoctrination been like? Of course, I can only assume it's been centuries."

The man's blood rises under the directions of my hand, sword resting against the far wall. The blood dances towards the mage, who is, at this point, screaming in abject terror.

"You see, the only way I know how long it's been is because of that curious symbol of yours. My brother must have spent at least a century establishing himself as a deity... quite quaint, actually. Being controlled like a puppet as you do."

All lies, of course. The Free Man is the dominant human religion. Been so for eons. 'So long as there is One Free Man, so too can we all be free'. Ha! The puppet of blood makes to kiss the young woman, but instead flows into her. She screams as something twitches inside her.

You channel your fear as the mage's belly swells.

"Do you really think there is any chance in hell you're surviving this encounter while against me?"

The mage's belly explodes, and she screams as she falls into Zuul's shadow, who greedily devours her. In moments, the blood rises as her comrades in thin, blood puppets shamble towards her.

    "I. Own. You."

Her light flickers. Then goes out.

    DOMINION INCREASED: FEAR

Those who break under your aura will do anything to escape, even if it endangers their lives.

She screams feebly as her gauntleted fingers scrabble against the wall.

"Do you swear, never to betray me?"

    "...Yes."

    "Then accept my blessing."

She stands, stock still, her eyes vanishing from her sockets. The markings on her armor vanish, the arch of the Free Man worn away, replaced with the bleeding eye you so loved. Her armor blackens, her skin blanches, her hair turns white with shock.

"My lord..." she manages, kneeling. "What do you ask?"

She stands, and speaks. You learn rapidly - the torches ave gone out. Cydonia has lost its Paladins. Your chance at revenge is gone! You quickly ask who took them, and she merely replies that she knows not. You learn more, that several areas are being overrun by strange green humanoids immune to magic and with the strength of ten men apiece.

Your chamber is surrounded by two nations, the Hakar and the Rahjes. They are both superstitious, but the green tide has them worried. Excellent.

You tell her of your people - of the gifts you can bestow and the might that you can wield. She preys upon each word, listening eagerly, and states, without prompting, that she will do all she can to make you known and feared throughout the land.

"Is this armor, stained as it is with my old faith, proper, my lord?" she asks quietly.

Yes, then we can tell Asila that we have no need for beds, for we do not sleep.

I second the easterly train of thought. Nightfall? Hell yes. Have Mrs. Cleric go out into the village square and start making a racket, preaching, being naked, whatever. Just get everyone out into the square. Presumably, they'll be pissed off at her and heckle/attempt to burn her depending on how fanatic religion is here.

Then? A keeing, far away scream. It grows subtly louder. Shadows twist and morph in the faint lamp/torch/pyre light of the townsfolk. An umbral figure forms from ebon shadows, black as pitch in all but its eyes of crimson red.

It smiles. It's teeth are red as well.

    -insert fuck awesome speech -

Troll people through a method of our choosing. Convert the victors and eat the losers.

Oh, and maybe we can take a bit longer to show up than our Cleric would like. Just enough to make her sweat.

Hey, maybe we can even pit the townsfol against our minions? That'd be p cool.

Come nightfall, things will be diamonds.

I thought we were going to make her cons- oh, OH, you naughty devils. Roughing it, I hadn't thought of that. Very clever.

Yes, let's try our hand at converting/enslaving/terrifying/eating a small village.

So we take her out back and reward her if this goes over well?

Mmm, okay, she is human and we do need to keep up moral sos we can keep messing with her afterwards.

No, we troll her by pretending we're going to do her, then giving her a pat on the head or something.

You wait. Time passes steadily as you mull your plans. The sliver of light under the door darkens and darkens, until it is no more.

Finally. The first night of the end of the world has come.

You throw open the door and step into the cool night air.

    You walk in midnight.
