Okay sorry about yesterday. Something came up that prevented me from coming. Long story short I came under a huge virus attack that took the better part of the evening to get rid of. Alright lets do this. Empire Quest
    http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/16791365/
The Battle Group is making its way to the Rally point at sublight speed when your sensors detect an incoming flight of A-Wings at sublight speed. If you launch your interceptors it could cost valuable time, but not launching interceptors has its own risks.

    Aren't A-wings interceptors?
    That have no ftl engines?
And can't operate far from their carrier?
That they are here means there is a carrier out there somewhere. I want detailed scans of the entire area, have our interceptors prepped just in case, bring us to combat alert beta.

No, the A-Wing does have a hyperdrive. A damn fast one, too.
    http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/RZ-1_A-wing_interceptor

Still, have the battlegroup go to alert, and launch fighters. I want those A-Wings swatted down before they can call out.

If they can see us, we can see them. I'm worried about whatever friends they have waiting in the wings.
Fuck being late, bust them up.

    >If they can see us, we can see them
Don't you mean, 'if we can see them, they can see us'?
Essentially the same, I know, but still the implications are different.

Anyway, yes, normally A-Wings aren't used for scouting; that's usually an X-Wing job. So either a Rebel battlegroup is already lurking around here, or they're just part of a vanguard.

In any case, besides launching fighters, we need to tell those engineers on that Victory to hurry up while we buy them some time.

Sorry about that. I kept 403ing. Must have been something I said elsewhere. I hate auto bans. You launch your fighter squadrons. A mixed variation of Tie Interceptors and standard fighters take off. You call the battlegroup to a halt as it would take longer for the fighters to get back if you keep moving. A short while later you get reports of the fighters engaging. Your fighter squadrons lost two men but your interceptors have already taken out their first bandit. Not long after all of the A-Wings have been destroyed and you fighters dock. Your XO communicates you from his ship and informs you that the A-Wings could have had a chance to call for help and recommends that you disregard safety and order all ships to jump.

    >>16953373
    I agree with our XO.
Make sure that the Vic II has a Lambda shuttle onboard so that they can go for help if their hyperdrive fails.

To all ships: Prepare for coordinated jump to lightspeed. Destination: designated Imperial rally point to meet up with the rest of the fleet.
    >> Anonymous 11/18/11(Fri)10:20 No.16955402
I would slow the Battle Group to half speed, deploy the interceptors in a screen formation to...intercept that A-Wings. Raise whatever shields I have and warm up my turbo lasers, with scanners set to maximum.

The Battle Group composition is 1 Imperial I SD, two Imperial II SDs and 8 Victory II SDs. You concur with your XO. If the rebels got a message out they could have called for help. You order the battle group to jump. A short time later you exit hyperspace, but the damaged Victory is nowhere to be seen.

Sound an alert on all ships. Start drawing up plans for scout ships to go to all pre-arranged emergency hyperspace reversion points along our path. We're the Empire. Of course we have a contingency plan for such an incident.

If there was a problem, they'd hopefully have managed to drop out of hyperspace safely and are awaiting help. If not...well, we'd never find what's left of them.

I want status reports from all ships, and if anyone is able to raise the Vic II.

They have a Lambda shuttle, however, and it can make the journey to Annaj and call for help.

Also, how far are we from Annaj and the rally point?

We're not throwing away a Star Destroyer for no reason if we can still find it. We're going to find our missing ship first.

I don't think we have any Assault Gunboats, but maybe we do.

We did plan for this contingency though. The Vic II can use the Lambda shuttle we lent them to call for help. I'm not too worried about it.
    >> Imperial Avenger. 11/18/11(Fri)12:12 No.16955916
You put the battle group on alert as you draw up plans for a search and rescue mission. A combat air patrol is established to protect the fleet. One of your pilots, enters the bridge, salutes, and tells you he has a plan to find the missing ship. This was Sanders, your ships top ace. Captain had always liked him. While there are no Tie Scouts in the fleet, you had gotten ahold of several smuggler fighters, on the chance that they were rebels. While they are too damaged to fly, he thinks they can take their hyperspace engines and put them on the interceptors, giving them jump capability. Your next ranking officer(XO was on the Vic II) warns against this idea.
    >> Vast Imperial Apologist 11/18/11(Fri)12:16 No.16955942
    >>16955916
Congratulate him on his initiative, and ingenuity, but tell him that you're vetoing the plan. Too risky, especially with the Interceptors general "high-maintenance" and standardized designs. Besides, it's not like they're Headhunters. The modifications would take time and be far too risky.

Fighter crews are to remain half on combat readiness, half on stand-by. We should be ready for more rebels while our scouts are sent off.

The scout shuttles should not engage the enemy. They should report anything as soon as they revert from hyperspace, and if they're spotted by any rebels present at the reversion point, they should flee. We can't risk losing more ships.

Actually, what if we cannibalized the smuggler ships to create 1 working ship?
It's one more hyperspace-capable ship, and it might help.

There's a reason the Hutt smugglers call them Uglies, and it's not just because of their appearance. They're also talking about their pilot survival rates.

No, we are the Imperial Navy. We don't need some cobbled together hunk of junk, unless we're planning on infiltrating the Rebellion without orders. The Lambda shuttles will do fine.

    I suppose you're right.
We may as well take this break to go over the battle reports from the Battle of Endor, see what went wrong, and get the comm array on the Imp II repaired.
    >> Imperial Avenger. 11/18/11(Fri)12:54 No.16956174
You commend Sanders for his input but decide not to go with it. You send the Lambdas out on their respective patrols to hopefully find the missing ship, along with Jensen and your XO. Meanwhile you order the battle reports from Endor to see if you can analyze just what went wrong. Unfortunately there is no reason that the battle should have failed, the rebels had a smaller fleet, less manpower on the ground, were caught in an ambush and according to the reports, the Death Star itself was working just fine.

    >>16956174
See if we can raise the captain of the Imp II. We need to know if there was anything that caused the fleet to just deteriorate like it did.
Yes, the Death Star was destroyed, and we lost the Executor, but the Imperial fleet still outnumbered the Rebels. We need to know, did the Rebels employ some radically new and effective tactic? Some new weapon?
    >> Anonymous 11/18/11(Fri)13:31 No.16956367
Also, I suggest we begin preparing contingency plans for when we arrive at the rally point.

History has shown that there is a high incidence of warlord-ism when a power vacuum is created, and we must be ready to stamp it out before it can take root.

The Emperor may be dead, but the Empire still lives!
    >> Imperial Avenger. 11/18/11(Fri)13:53 No.16956480
You raise the shuttle on the Imp II. You recieve reports that three of the Lambdas have returned from their scouting run. They didn't find the Victory. A priority report arrived, the shuttle that went to Endor didn't find the Victory either. Which means that it is somewhere between where you are and Endor. The Captain of the Imp II got on the line and asked what you needed to know.

Have the four shuttles begin searching the hyperspace route between our current location and Endor in order to find the Vic II.

As to the captain from the Imp II, ask him to describe, in his own words, what happened at the end, after the Death Star blew up and the Emperor died.
Any insight he can shed into what went wrong will be appreciated.
He and his men are the only eye-witnesses we have, and knowing what happened is important for determining our future course.

have the comms officer send out a coded signal establishing our position as a rally point. we need to raise reinforcements if we're going to save the vic II. also have our interrogators do their work on those captured rebels
    >> Imperial Avenger. 11/18/11(Fri)16:01 No.16957271
You have the shuttles begin scouting the area between yourself and Endor in the hopes of finding your lost ship. The captain tells you what he remembered. The rebels didn't unveil any new weapon that the Empire hadn't seen as far as he was concerned, but when the Death Star was destroyed the Imperial fleet scattered. In short, they ran after the explosion. And he expects to be executed for it. The comms officer began working on the coded signal.

I disagree with setting ourselves up as a new rally point.
We already have a battle group with us, and the official rally point is at Annaj; to set up another rally point would only create confusion.

It's better if we simply concentrate our efforts on getting the Imp II's comm array back online, trying to find out what went wrong at Endor, and using the Lambda shuttles to search for the missing Vic II.

"However, judging from your report and that of the other Star Destroyer, if indeed everything did start to unravel, then I think you did what was necessary to preserve the lives of your crew and the investment that the Empire made in your ship."

See if any other ships in our group can spare the parts and engineers needed to help fix the Imp II's comm array.

After the Death Star was destroyed and the Admiral perished in the Executor, no one knew who was in command. Someone sounded a retreat and pretty soon everyone was pulling out, trying to escape. So yes. The fleet was completely routed. In the face of a smaller opponent.

Let's concentrate on the present. Get the Imp II's comm array repaired, and our lost Vic II found. Then we make for the rally point at Annaj and see about putting things back together.

You send your ID Signatures. The man on the other end of the line doesnt answer for the moment. Your passive scanners show that the Station above Annaj is guarded by a light Imperial Fleet. Good luck trying to get it fixed. I've bugged the admins to fix other threads improperly tagged, and they've never been fixed.
