Last time, on FNG, we spent about 200 posts discussing changes. When we finally got back to the swing of things we discovered that Inari was playing possum with her former clan, and the world at large, but our quick eye and keen medical know how allowed us to dodge her little game and find out the truth. Then we were accosted and had an interesting conversation. She even green-lighted us hanging out with Momji.

    >>17154537
    >>17154524

"Of course. I won't do anything to interfere with you two at all. As for the rest of my activities, I like the way we're working out. Let's keep it that way, alright?" She said with a smile and left her senbon, this time putting one in the small of your back. "Now, have a good time, Shingen!" And with that her presence can no longer be felt.

After removing the senbon you grip the one on the small of your back and find that she speared a rose and let it hang there, almost as if it were her attempt to fulfill your wishes for normalcy.

Keep the senbons in our inventory, we'll examine them when we have time. Go over our stuff, make sure she didn't take anything.

Also we should byakugan the flower. Make sure its not some sort of hidden trap to activate some sort of..plant based illusion/attack.

"....Why do I have to fall for the crazy one?"

Going to assume she doesn't want us to reveal to the world that she's still alive.

Go home, present eyes, inform them that the eyes couldn't belong to the so called 'Black Widow' because we met her once, and her eyes had the three pinwheel thing instead of two.

Let me clarify: We are to let them assume that we found and killed the person who was killing our dudes. Since the only 'rogue' Uchiha had a three-pinwheel thing this one couldn't have been her.

Implicate the Uchiha might have had something to do with Hyuga disappearances.

I figure 'solving' this mystery might be enough to call our mission a success. If not, it's more than enough to justify a pit-stop at the Clan hold. If they ask about the letter, reply that it was a precaution. You got lucky and got the drop on them, while you were expecting MUCH more of a fight.

Make sure your story matches that of your comrades, without making it obvious that you intend to lie to your clan.

A quick scan over the flower reveals it's just a rose, a simple forest rose. Maybe she's not so mad after all. Regardless, you make yourself extremely scarce and return home.

When you present your findings to the Patriarch, your Father close at hand, he smiles widely and tells you that you do honor by your Clan. He welcomes you back to the compound and tells you to give him a full account of what you've been doing. With some creative embellishment you describe your actions, being sure to mention your aid to the Senjuu. He is not only extremely impressed, but is willing to show it. He announces to you that because of your honorable service you will be made the official Senjuu-Hyuuga Relations Embassador. The Patriarch is quick to explain the following.

"Your military rank will remain, but socially and politically you will be considered Second Branch. Additionally you can call upon the Clan's financial resources to better grow our interclan relationships, be it expensive dinners, whatever needs to be done. As such I give you access to the coffers. I am showing a lot of trust to you, my Nephew." he says, showing to you that he is honoring his word fully, you are Second Branch in all ways.

Average. After our brief kerfuffle with the Wind shinobi Senjuu hasn't really locked horns, nor has Hyuuga, so for the most part all is well. You could really bolster relationships waving the Hyuuga Clan Flag and trying to play off that relationship, were you so interested.

    Pretty sure, yeah.

Well, seems we need to start laying out the next part of our game-plan.

Long term goals, based on our Nindo:

-Peace, at least in the land of fire.
-More power, either personally, or through the Hyuga Clan.
-Inari not getting a 'bad end'.

    Suggested Course of action:
    -Take blame for Inari's actions.
-Spin it so the Uchiha look insane (shouldn't be hard)
    -unite clans
-Become first Hokage, by virtue of being a conniving motherfucker.

    What do you guys think?

    So be it.

A few more social calls back home before you go, and with the Patriarch's approval, Jako, Honda, who has requested to be your Liason to the Senjuu, and yourself are on your way to the Land of Wind, dressed head to toe in loose cloth robes that cover your mouth and nose from the sandy winds.

You make your way through the desert, the Hyuuga Clan seal, one of the three your Clan owns, present so that when you are accosted, as you inevitably will be, you have identification.

Sure enough the sands shift and a series of shinobi rise, to which you present the scroll and request to speak to Monzaemon Chikimatsu.

Blindfolds, chakra enriched so that you can't see through them, as well as a couple for your friends and you are marched through the sands.

In a few moments time you arrive at the camp, full of tents and loose flaps of cloth to protect the inhabitants from the wind. Monzaemon Chikimatsu sits before you in a simple white robe with a gray coat over it. He gazes down a long hooked nose topped with furrowed eyebrows before relaxing them and smiling.

"You are Shingen Hyuuga. No introductions are needed, Shingen-san, I can tell simply by virtue of your bearing and air about you, you are the man who saved my cousin's life." He stands up and embraces you tight to his chest, "For saving his life, you are to me as a brother. Please, your friends are welcome guests in my home, take a seat." he says, offering you one of the seats on his own level, showing a recognition of status, "I am at your disposal, how can I treat you? The Chikimatsu Clan takes care of its guests well!"

I am certain he will be pleased to see you." Monzaemon says as he leans back before steepling his fingers, "In addition to returning my cousin to me safe and well you bring tidings of good will from the Hyuuga Clan? I am impressed. Few can do such as you, Shingen. Perhaps it is fate, or some guardian angel harkening you towards these events, but I am pleased to welcome your entreaties. Yes, such an alliance could be seen as possible. Certainly nothing as close as you have with the Senjuu, our distance prohibits that, but amongst the swirling sands you will always find brothers, that I assure you." he says with a solemn nod. "Ah! Politely enjoy the festivities and retain our composure as a shinobi and ambassador. Enough drink and food not to offend but not enough to impair one's judgment or abilities should a situation arise. This is our first mission as an ambassador and we chose this task ourselves, we must take every step to ensure we conduct ourselves accordingly. Also a good ninja always suspects betrayal.

The night goes on wonderfully. You are introduced to many interesting and skilled men and beautiful women who all want to dance with you. Chimatsu himself makes an appearance and embraces you as a brother as well, the two of you speaking at great length about one another before night's end. Honda eats a surprisingly little amount for his standards and Jako even dances with one tall shy woman who was eyeballing him.

The morning sun rises with its blistering fanfare as the majority of the Clan is out on various duties. Monzaemon is across the Great Hall where he is working on his puppets, one of his legendary ten, right in front of you in open sight, as honest as can be. He hums softly to himself as you run down the list of last night's notable events.

    1) Monzaemon is one of the strongest shinobi in the land. The shinobi who stood beside him when his Clan went to battle was Otori Saito, the Lord of Metal. The two of them are fierce rivals, but their Clans are long allies.

    2) Monzaemon is known to be wise, kind, and gentle. Otori is rude, brash, and harsh like the winds. However, both are ruthless in battle and strategic geniuses.

    3) Tobirama and Hashirama both support Monzaemon's ascension to power, rather than Otori's.

That was all of political note you gathered during the course of the night. A great deal of small talk paved the way for that, so you are grateful you were able to learn so much.

Ambassadors don't trade directly, we help negotiate trade agreements. Its up to the merchants and civilians to work out deals with their counterparts in the other clan.

In any case, our Patriach must have given us an indication of what trading terms and possible concessions, joint training missions, embassies or such that we can offer and deal.

After about ten minutes he calls, "Brother Shingen, please come over here. I want to show you something." he said and he holds up the puppet, a strange horse-looking puppet with a gray ponytail. >>17154928
He laughs politely at your humor, "Keep your words flowing as honey, Brother, and you will never have to see the business end of my puppets." he said and when you ask about his craft he smiled, "I invented it. My father and mother were able to use chakra to propel and retract shinobi tools, kunai, explosives, at high speed and with great accuracy. However, when I was ten I developed chakra strings, which I used to control them more aptly. Then I saw a Bunraku show and I thought, 'I can store weapons and make these fight for me'. Thirty years later, and here I sit." he said and extends his fingers in an obviously rehearsed pattern as the puppet seemingly springs to life, the jaw opening and then clacking closed and open, simulating laughter as you watch the puppet leap across the room and smash apart a wooden table with a flick of Monzaemon's wrist.

Short version: in the last thread people were really stuck on the idea of getting a summon. One guy suggested spiders, and by extension turning the main character into a twisted cross between man and spider.

Another guy pointed out that with the exception of literally feeding on our fellow man, we fit most of the general archetypes for a vampire to a T.

There was a debate as to which approach was better, and in the end it was mostly in the Vampire's favor; it was also agreed that we weren't sure how to go about it yet, along with a few minor snags that led to shelving the entire idea, at least in the short term.

In any case, perhaps we should try to follow Inari's footsteps and learn how the Hyuuga cursed seal works and try to change it. While the cursed seal is keeping a great deal of Hyuuga from their full potential, it is necessary to keep the Byakugan's secrets safe. If we could devise a new brand of cursed seal, we could remove the threat of Inari's influence and protect our clan. I know we can form chakra scalpels, but I think they require that they stay connected to our chakra system.

On the other hand, we learned that chakra strings are possible.
We could combine our Far Fist with chakra scalpels and chakra strings and our kekkei genkai to allow us a ranged method of disrupting an enemy's chakra system.

You make your good-byes and depart with your friends to the Land of Earth. The crawl up the mountainous country is extremely difficult, even for trained shinobi. Honda has the hardest time of it, struggling up every inch of the passing as he groans in exertion and eventually just inflates his hands to massive size as he pulls himself up by leaps and bounds.

You reach a central point before realizing you have no clue, whatsoever, where Momoji's Clan is. However, you didn't know where Chikimatsu was, so you proceed to use the same strategy.

Two weeks into the trip and you realize that the terrain is forbidding and labyrinthine, making traversing it nearly impossible unless you know the way already. You have moved probably a total of seven miles from your central point in two weeks, getting caught constantly in round-abouts and dead ends.

The closest thing we've thus far achieved to a consensus was Chakra leeching abilities, that could be upgraded. The max upgrade level basically ripping out all of their Chakra and wrecking their system in one go, resulting in an almost instant and painful death.

We could combine these ideas together though. Use the Chakra drain to kill somebody, and then use their power to fuel a massive jutsu like the one you describe.

Like a giant scythe, invisaible to the naked eye and built for reaping. What you suggest reminds me of that one drill technique that kiba used during the Chunin exam arc. That combined with some sort of lightning/chidori move, fueled by dead people....

You turn your Byakugan and see something rather disturbing. Midori has some of the most intense chakra you've ever seen. Her pool mustn't be that much bigger than her brother's, but it's focus is amazing. Burning white hot like a star as she mutates.

Jako shifts his arms into claws with pistons and grabs her knees, slamming them just a second too late as she saves her body by turning them into spiked pads. Grabbing her brother's face she swings the other knee up under his jaw and then picks him up. Jako tries to mutate into something heavy as she sprouts a massive set of leathery wings and jumps high into the air, not capable of flight, but when she does flap her wings it takes them at least fifty feet up in the air. Wrapping her arms around Jako in a full nelson she turns her legs into chakra-jets and blasts forwards into the ground, Jako's head aiming straight for the rock.

You hear the gasp of everyone from the cave watching as Jako's chakra dims and then he roars, his signature exploding all around him as he grabs her by the neck and rolls in mid-air, transforming his back into a hard turtle-shell and smashing her into the ground like a sandwich, causing her to gasp in pain.

He clambers up off her and mutates both hands together into a massive hammer and pounds her stomach again and again before she catches him, this time with a blade to his neck and pins him to the ground, her other hand a long rapier-like shiv. "Give up, kid brother!"

Jako roars out, "I won't, Midori! I won't!" He says and his elbows grow huge and club-like as he smashes them backwards, falling back into the ground and rolling, kicking her under the jaw as he does so, the blow dazing Midori surprisingly.

"Still got a glass jaw!?" He roars out in challenge. As he says so his right arm becomes thinner and more precise, and you see that at his shoulder is the majority of his biomass as he calls out, "Shingen! This is what I've learned! To win, you must strike, at the heart!" He smashes two fingers into her chest and all of that biomass slams forward into her chest, right between her breasts and causes her to spit up blood as she rockets at least fifteen feet away and smashes into a thick wall of stone. She groans in pain as her mutations fade away and she swoons on the spot before collapsing face to her knees. She's out cold.

Jako roars a bloody war cry of victory, his arms becoming huge axe blades before he sees you and shakes, his teeth grinding so hard you see his gums bleeding before he drops his mutation and passes out too.

You patch up Jako and Midori, though they both did quite a number on each other. The wounds look like someone was hit by an avalanche, rather than by another human. Regardless, you get them all repaired and with a slow groan Midori comes to. "Jako...where's my baby brother?" She asks as Jako sits straight up and she hugs him, "Jeez big guy, you nearly killed me there."

He glows at your praise in typical Jako fashion, straight faced and emotionless, but you can see the pride in his eyes as he stands up and pats your shoulder, "Thank you Shingen."

That might not mean much here in the land of Stone, but it basically means I have a powerful Kekkei Genkai eye jutsu, and had to learn the fine art of political maneuvering shortly after birth to avoid being murdered in my crib by someone moving for political advantage in the clan." Deep breath. "After completing basic training I discovered that the various clans got on about as well as a bunch of Hyugas with no clear line of sucession, I started to see that the entire ninja world is constantly on the brink of open-warfare. I, there and then, decided to do something about it."

Hold out hand, ticking the events off on fingers. "So far, I've caused permanent psychological damage to, who was at the time, the only woman I ever had feelings for. Also got her thrown out of her clan, and hunted as a fugitive. Made friends wi9th one caln, met a super-powerful beserker who can barely restrain his powers, saved the life of somebody I was supposed to be at war with, and rose to a position of significant power in my own clan, simultaneously painting a giant target on my back for everybody wanting to climb higher."

Look at her, poker face as hard as possible. "So, mixed results. But tell me about yourself, I don't actually know that much about you, and that hardly seems fair."

Should we tell her the ins and outs of Hyuuga-clan bullshit? Show her the seal on Shingen's forehead?

"You see this shit?" Shingen complains, pointing at the seal upon his forehead. "YOU SEE THIS SHIT? THIS IS SOME BULLSHIT IS WHAT THIS SHIT IS."

Life through the eyes of Hyuga Shingen.

I can't stop laughing at his summary of things.

    >Well, I was born into a fucked up family built around in-fighting, set some vague goals, and then fucked everything up. You?

Shingen's no professional like Shimaru, but just like Shimaru, he's "an honest man."

    Also, autosage in full effect.

Hell I don't think -We- knew what she was getting into either. Shingen just kind of laid it all out there didn't he?

    She asked.

It's hardly our fault that our life can be summed up as "I was born, and then things sucked a lot."
