    You are Proteus:

As a prisoner in a Polish concentration camp, you were subjected to torturous experiments under the watch of Dr. Von Braun, one of the brightest and cruelest minds of the Third Reich. The ordeal has stripped you of your humanity in more way than one as you discover that you now have the ability to control and morph your flesh in any way you desire.

Using this new ability, you escape from your cell and try to make your escape. Shortly after leaving your cell, you brutally attack a Nazi soldier and devour his body to add its bulk to your emaciated frame. You take on his appearance to infiltrate the base.

An alarm sounds when they find that you have vanished from your cell, and you quickly mutilate an officer and take his form so you can move more freely about the camp. You hear gunshots coming from the prison yard and Von Braun announces over the PA that a dozen prisoners will be executed every hour that you do not turn yourself over.

You headed to the factory, looking for a means to escape. Using your inhuman powers, you gain the ability to shoot poisonous quills from your body that cause pain and paralysis.

You get in a small firefight in the factory that comes to an abrupt end when you throw a grenade that rolls under a gasoline silo. The factory is demolished in a massive fireball that damages many nearby structures and rains flaming shrapnel over the entire camp.

Well, we obviously need to find this Von Braun guy and put him the fuck down for the good of humanity.

Also, because he could give other people super powers and send them after us.

With the ringleader gone, you can really make the guards reconsider whether it's worth it to try and find you.

Terrify them. Make the camp to much trouble to keep a hold of.

The prisoners take advantage of the mayhem to start a riot, picking up weapons from the dead Germans and fortifying themselves in the western cell block and attacking the barracks to the east.

You join the fray. You pick up a scoped rifle and begin shooting down the remaining soldiers on the guard towers. Now only the northwest tower remains, manned by a sniper and a machine gunner.

Currently, the Nazis are beating back the uprising on the eastern side and are engaged in pitched warfare in the northwest.

    Your abilities:

    >Shapeshifting
You can control the flesh, bone, and chemicals in your body down to the cellular level.

    >Camouflage
You can change the color of your skin to match your surroundings, becoming nearly invisible while immobile

    >Consume
You can acquire more mass by eating the flesh of others.

    >Disguise
You can change your appearance to look like another person

    >Poison Darts
You can shoot venomous quills from your body that cause instantaneous pain, and paralysis within a matter of minutes

    >Bone Shield
You can protect your body with a bony exoskeleton. It's effective against small arms and shrapnel, but cannot withstand heavy fire.

    >Mutation
Given enough time you can alter your body's chemistry to discover new abilities.

You are currently lying prone and naked at the base of a destroyed guard tower near the flaming wreckage of the factory at the southern end of the camp. Your camouflage keeps you hidden from Germans and inmates alike. Your last course of action was to shoot the occupants of the remaining guard tower.

Roll 1d100 for your next course of action.

You decide not to waste any more bullets and make a run for the eastern barracks, evading machine gun and small-arms fire with your inhuman speed. You take cover behind the southernmost barrack, as it seems to be under prisoner control. Once shielded from gunfire, you take on your original form (though with considerably more bulk) and enter the barrack through the laundry room.

I gaunt young man promptly shoves a rifle in your face. His arms shaking from either the shock of battle or hunger, or both. He regards your naked form, lingering on the tattoo on your right forearm, mutters something in Russian and lowers his gun.

They are being treated with supplies that were salvaged from the half-destroyed infirmary. A young girl is treating a horribly mangled man whose forearm tattoo reads 17509751.

You enter the mess hall. All the tables have been overturned as makeshift cover. The men and women defending the room are as haphazard as they are disheveled. You see a toothless old man clutching an MP40 against his chest. A girl, no older than thirteen is peering over a counter-top holding a luger at arm's length. The fight in the building ahead does not seem to be going well, as the wounded are being brought back at increasingly common intervals. The chatter of machine gun fire can be heard just ahead.

You start toward the door. The old man clears his throat:

"If you're not going to take a gun with you, at least put on some pants."

You pause at the threshold. It's the first joke you've heard in months, and despite yourself you begin to laugh. You turn to the pathetic throng of gaunts, a broad smile upon your face.

"Tell them that it was Proteus, the Demon of Gdynia, who killed them all."
You exit the building and to the shock and horror of those watching through the windows, your muscles begin to bulge. You cover your body with a dense layer of white bone. Venomous spines sprout from your macabre carapace and your fingers elongate into razor-sharp blades. You let out a blood curdling howl that is heard throughout the entire camp. You do not hesitate, you tense your muscles with all of your superhuman might.

Their bullets tear your flesh but you run the gauntlet like a man possessed.

It isn't until you reach the bunks that you encounter the Germans. They have set up a machine gun at the far side of the room.

Like an enraged tiger you leap at their position, paying no mind to the lead puncturing your body.

Once you're upon them you become a horrible mass of spines, blades, barbed tendrils and venomous quills. Their bullets only feed your rage. You tear them from limb to limb, their blood spatters the floor, walls and ceilings as the inmates watch in horror.

The remaining Nazis flee and you run them down like a bull upon sheep, breaking their bones and removing their limbs.

Suddenly, something lands at your feet. You look down just in time to see the potato-masher explode. You feel your body being torn apart as you are dashed against the walls.

You land face down among the corpses of the fifteen Germans you killed in your charge. Your legs have been blown to smithereens.

You start re purposing the flesh of the corpses into your own, but the conversion process is taking some time. Not to mention that you are still badly damaged from your initial charge on the barracks.

While you are recuperating from your injuries and 'digesting' the Nazi remains, you grab nearby weapons and toss them to the inmates. You put on a human face and instruct them to take up a defensive position while you heal. The short-haired woman takes up the machine gun and turns it so it faces the advancing German front. The remaining bunks are overturned and positions are taken up behind them. You can already hear the footfalls of German boots coming from the northern entrance.

He seems apprehensive at first, but takes it and shakes firlmy, "Oskar, at your service."

"I am Masha," the woman says.

"Listen, Masha, Oskar, I'm about to fall apart and I need time to heal. It will not take long, but I need your men... and women, to cover protect this place while I recuperate. How many do you have to defend this place?"

The chatter of an MG42 echoes throughout the bony womb, you can hear the screams of men and women as they fall in combat but you do your best to focus. Masha, bleeding profusely from shrapnel that struck her arm, is still firing the machine gun with a righteous fury. Oskar, with a luger in each hand, looks more beast than man.

You squeeze through the door to the mess hall and stand. At sixteen feet tall, you are three times your original hieght. You cover your body with a new kind of bone. It looks almost like metal. You sprout an army of razor sharp barbs and spines, coated with lethal venom. Your extra mass becomes an extra pair of arms and all four of your hands become claws that can slice a pickup truck in half with a single strike.

I vote for a skinblimp for flight

there's only so much you can do with armor, idealy there are a few ways of defeating a bullet. on is the shield of steel that deflects and bounces bullets, the second is the meet shield that absorbs the energy of the bullet and keeps going

ideally a combination of the 2 would be what we want, multiple layers...

    Other ideas:

    - Changing the weight/size/density of a weaponised limb in mid-swing to add extra punch at the point of impact

    - Using extremely thin tendrils to attack enemies at vulnerable points. This would be a stealthy maneuver that could conserve mass.

    - Using concentrations of body heat to boil fat internally (assuming we learn how to do this safely). It could be a really potent and horrifying weapon (I'm guessing at this point that pure fear is one of our best assets).

On another note, the growing 16 feet tall is cool and all, but is this some sort of one-off limitbreak technique? There's not going to be a lot of tension if we become a deathless juggernaut in the second session.

Other than that, this is awesome, and probably the most interesting quest thread series I've seen in a while.

I mean, we could simply hike it to Berlin and kick some ass, but why stop there?

I don't think so. I don't want to lose sight of the kind of expansionistic arrogance that led to these atrocities in the first place, and trying to take over the world seems like the fastest way to do just that.

I'd be happy just liberating our people from the Nazis and keeping them protected, as well as seeking out other victims of experimentation.

The Nazis still hold the armory, the administration building, and the front gate (which is guarded by two heavily armed pillboxes).

The armory is just beyond the smoldering remains of the barrack you just blew to smithereens. It's a large warehouse with concrete sides, a far more formidable structure than anything you've encountered before. The main door faces west, and the windows are bristling with machine guns. The Nazis seem to have made it their makeshift base of operations.

Oskar tells you that the prisoners have cleared a safe passage behind the destroyed factory and the burning infirmary, allowing reinforcements to travel from the cell blocks to our position. You've left plenty of corpses to loot, so weaponry won't be a problem.

The problem is the armory itself. It is made out of concrete reinforced with steel and armed to the teeth with angry Germans. Even with your abilities, taking it will be no minor feat.

As you argue with Oskar, you get an intriguing thought. You've heard of a kind of beetle that uses an combination of harmless natural chemicals to release a defense mechanism that is one part explosion, one part poison. Since your body is already adapted to withstand high levels of heat, you might be able to mix your bodies own chemicals with explosive results.

    Update:

Most of the prisoners remain in the western cell blocks, you can't be sure of their numbers but it is in the thousands. Since that is where the children and infirm are being kept, most of your available resources are being sent there. The 'hottest' zone of the battle is taking place at the northwest corner as the Germans have taken up a defensive position at the armory. Clearing the barracks has aided heavily in the fight in the northwest, but all you have done is bought time.

Oskar did a head count: You have 200 available fighters but only 88 firearms of any kind between them. You have two heavy machine guns with a moderate amount of ammunition. And about two dozen grenades.

You load a rocket into the panzershreck. It's unlikely to have the power needed to punch through the reinforced concrete that protects the armory. The front door and windows are vulnerable, but they are very small targets. Your aim will have to be very precise.

Well, he killed people for multiple reasons - They were trying to kill him, they were trying to kill everyone or he needed a snack/disguise to continue killing the people that he needed to kill.
His philosophy was pretty much "The end justifies the means" and him blocking the nuke showed that he even applied it to himself. Some people just have to die to let everyone else survive.
