    FRIDAY NIGHT TG QUEST!

    Last Thread:http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/17781794/

Short summary: You have somewhat screwed up a plan to kill the Arch-SUE Sapphirus for the delicious, delicious bounty on her head. Losing Tosh, Spike, and the Sandmen to jailors in the Kingdom Hearts canon, you return to base to find that Holtz is already pissed off about something.

Long summary not ENTIRELY up to date: http://pastebin.com/3ATuVKRQ

"Now..." Holtz says, retrieving his golf club and striding back to the line of golf balls he had been slamming into the stacks of booze bottles set up on the other side of his office. "Before I begin, let me ask you a question. About how much shit do you think you can get done in one... maybe... MAYBE two weeks?"

We can probably do another linchpin, maybe the one that Yellowman scouted out for us.

Since we want another whack at Sapphirius and a chance to retrieve our team, we're not considering resolving the linchpin near that Canon.

    So, one linchpin.
    >> Anonymous 02/03/12(Fri)20:15 No.17794936
One linchpin if we take a while, possibly two if we hurry.

If it's as easy as our first few, maybe even 3 or more.

    "why do you ask?"
i have an extremely bad feeling about this.
    >> Potential Writefag 02/03/12(Fri)20:21 No.17795025
We could definitely do another linchpin, though we're hesitant to do the one by Sapphirius because we're worried the reset shockwave would kill the away team that got accidentally'd into Kingdom Hearts.

Perhaps we should let that canon die down a bit and give them time to forget us before we come back like our ship's name suggests all up in their shit.

Why? Is the situation that bad, Holtz? Are you in trouble? What's the situation on the homefront? ..Frankly, you acting this way has us worried.

Alright. We need to focus on sustainability, so when we get to our final requisitions, we need... stuff that can make stuff. But that's farther down the line, after this whole Saph business is taken care of.

    ..Shuts down? Oh, fuck.

Okay, yeah; we can't afford to waste the lives of the away team. We're officially on lockdown to forces losses.

"We know it's because of the bullshit brewing up between the Firemen and Messiahs, but have they given any official reason as to why we're getting cut off? There's no way we can be drawing away *that many* resources, and we've done our best to give back when we got some extra stuff."

Guys, we CANNOT afford losses any more. We're gonna have to make this shit count. Comm back to the Storm, and tell them to put a rush on working out how to transit to the away team.. Unless Holtz happens to have the KH coords in his Meta atlas or something. Ask him if he does.

"Well, while you were out, I was treated to a lovely little bit of news," Holtz says, swinging his driver around. "Let me tell you a story, kiddies. A loooooong, long time ago, Requisitions was into some very, very shady stuff. What amounted to slavery, really. After a prolonged controversy, high command had them close down those portions, and institute a series of reforms. Only it seems that SOME branches of Requisitions decided that what high command didn't know about wouldn't hurt them. Only it did. See, yesterday, everyone with a Meta-Comm was treated to a burst transmission containing a metric ton of data, all detailing just how inhumane our Human Resources branch actually is."

Holtz pauses to line up another shot. "So add this fuel to the fire brewing already, and of course guess what happens? The Firemen side with the extremist Requisition branches, calls everyone else weak willed traitors, Messiahs are furious and close to taking up arms, High Command is ready to strangle the Requisition Directors for going behind their backs... If it was a mess before, it's a shitstorm now."

Holtz smacks the golf ball with enough to bounce it off the metal walls of his office like some deranged superball. "But wait! There's more!"

Soulcatcher Chips we can make already, from the Hercules.
But cortical stacks would be better. With Doc Lazarus, we should be able to implant them without problems.

We could also use Soul Gems, instead.

Fortunately we already have a dozen reconstruction tanks.

So, at the top of the next Requisition are:
    Meta-Comm Array and Cortical Stacks.

    Book of Identify - http://nethackwiki.com/wiki/Spellbook_of_identify
Alleria's Flute of Accuracy - Increases nearby ranged units damage by 10%.
Warsong Battle Drums - Increases the attack damage of nearby friendly units by 10% when worn.

    Black Barrel - http://typemoon.wikia.com/wiki/Black_Barrel
    Weapons for BLU - http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Weapons

    Nannybags and Rejuve tanks
Lance of Longius - research massproduction
Mobile Emitters for Holograms - http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Emergency_Medical_Hologram
    Portable (cheap) emitters - http://memory-beta.wikia.com/wiki/Portable_emitter

If we're grabbing these, a Unicorn Horn from good ol' Nethack cures stat drain, sickness, confusion, hallucination, and is infinitely reusable.
Also from nethack: Spellbooks of Detect Monsters, Clairvoyance (limited mapping), Detect Treasure, and Magic Mapping are also good.

We may well need someone who is the Boss of divinations to cast them. If so, we should have one of our Aurors focus entirely on his scrying spells, with our Clairvoyant Psion, Farseers, and Cheryl teaching him.
    >> Anonymous 02/03/12(Fri)20:49 No.17795381
If we can make our own reality emitters, we may end up supplying our sector discreetly (well, discreetly for a short while at least).
We're also getting manufacturing up and running on our ship for technowizard weaponry, so we may be able to produce that.
We'll need raw materials though, so harvesters, processing facilities, etc.

We may end up working with sector HQ (or a hidden base in the sector) and using our knowledge and general sector resources to make a supply base.

Not mentioning this directly to Holtz yet, pending on other command crew input.

Ask him if it's permitted for us to launch our own looting operations, provided we do it as a subordinate to our main operations. I mean, we seem to have got away with doing some looting of the LOTR canon. Perhaps if we formed a dedicated looting department...

Also: we need to get any and all Transpace Guard bases in our sector back up to functionality, possibly establishing new ones if we can. They're the only way we're getting reinforcements from now on, until requisitions decides to let us have stuff again.

How do we go about collecting the bounty on Sapph from the Shipper confederation, anyway? Can we ask for goods from them (under the proviso it won't damage the canon)

Also: we need to seriously consider our next hero choices extremely carefully. We may not be getting any for while, maybe not at all if things go really bad.

And I really wanted Zero, too. Shoot.

Holtz reaches into his breast-pocket and pulls out a remote, pressing a button on it as a wall-mounted telescreen slides out from behind a panel. The telescreen displays a vast array of skyscrapers and industrial buildings belching smoke into the sky, clearly a hub of industry.

"This was the central base for Human Resources. Wait for it...." Holtz says, holding up a hand.

A blinding flash rips across the screen, then another, and another, and another... Holtz throws down his driver and flips the bird to the screen as the base is consumed by multiple rising mushroom clouds.

"BOOM! Nuclear launch detected, motherfuckers!" Holtz roars. He raises his hands to the heavens. "And not a single fuck was given by me or half of the Guard for the loss of those soul slavers."

He lets his hands fall at the same time his face does. "Unfortunately, whoever saw fit to drop the hammer on them isn't being picky with their targets, because every OTHER branch of Requisitions suffered the same fate. So it's not just us, boys. Unless you have triple A clearance, Requisitions is going to be locking up tighter than a flea's ass at a collar convention."

Uh... this is probably a bit late to be saying this...

But wouldn't nuking the people who are supplying us with equipment and who are also very good at acquiring things without messing up canon essentially be shooting ourselves in the foot? Don't get me wrong I'm as disgusted as the next TG staff about the slavery stuff, but if the supply lines dry up, that's going to make for a LOT of editor groups desperate for equipment.

And while I can't speak for all of the editors, that may result in lots of said desperate editor groups looting canons for equipment... only with MUCH less knowledge about how to go about doing such things without compromising canon. Editors take heavy losses because they're lacking in good equipment, they start looting shit the wrong way, then canons get breached and more reality distortions result, which requires the attention of MORE editors desperate for equipment. And the cycle continues.

Why, it's almost as if someone's trying to sabotage the Transpace Guard, or destabilize it to the point of fracturing.

Kill Sapphirius and get that bounty (both High Command AND the Shipper Union, which could be a source of unlicensed equipment), or the linchpin.

I say we do the linchpin first, let things settle in Sapphirius' world, then sneak back in and gank her.

    Oh.

    Well, the point still stands.

Also, Holtz, would it be possible to trade in some distinctly new technology we develop for clearance/goodies from what remains of requisitions? We seem to have an unusually robust science division.

Also, if you have the coordinates to the KH canon, that would help us greatly in recovering our covert ops team. They've been with us from the beginning, and they're extremely good at what they do (most of the time). A quick recovery effort would go a long way to making us self-sufficient.

Right, where would we get those schematics from?

And if we can get Zero's learning system, the Variable Weapons system, or even copy chip technology, that tech alone would be very useful.

Also, keep in mind we don't want to make them too powerful. If they get infected by the Maverick Virus/bodyjacked by Shodan/Get their switch flipped to 'evil', we need to be sure that we can but them down with our other forces.

We also have 2 directions in which we can take our hypothetical robot soldier program, which I am designating TIN MAN.

    1. The 'Pantheon' route
We mass-produce units based on a degraded designs from our original schematics. This will make them easier to replace and reduce the risk of rebellion, but will likely result in an inferior end product
    2) The 'Omega' route
We don't just copy the schematics, we toil to take the technology to the very limit, resulting in a unit or units that can carve through most targets with ease, including the original template-in theory, anyway. Of course, if they go rogue, it'll take a lot of good people to take them out. And they will not be invincible by any means.

How, exactly, would Requisitions let themselves get nuked?
While they're not a match for the military force of all editors combined, Requisitions could hold their own against Black OPs + HQ's defense fleet, and in doing so, guard themselves against nukes.

This leads me to only one conclusion.
    REQUISITIONS IS IN ON IT.
Someone high up in Requisitions no doubt earned a LOT of promotions purely by his superiors all dying in nuclear fire, and either Firemen and the Messiahs are fighting IN Requisitions long enough for the nukes to land, or said Someone pulled enough strings to utterly disable Requisitions' armies of heroes. Maybe we should begin to make note of what expertise we (as a sector) have in terms of making equipment, so we can see what will be available in the longer run. This is both at regular sector and our own types of production.

We probably ought to see about getting extra safeguards around our own manufacturing areas.
Maybe even move some portion of them to a hidden area for added security. Of course, this would be an excellent place to work on manufacturing lots of Mk II reality emitters and /or disruptors.

There may be other resources he can add to this specific project. And if we're getting cut off from things like reality emitters, we'll want our sector to have its own production area of them. We don't want our one ship to have all the knowledge of Mk IIs when we take it out into dangerous territory often.

    Plan from planning thread:
    1. Come out of transit 1 light-hour away from Earth. Scan the local area, make sure we're clear.
    2. Micro-jump to behind the Moon, stay hidden on its far side.
    3. Observer, Al'Kesh, and Indefatigable cloak and check out the situation, see what the SUE's are doing. The Storm check how many Reality Distortions there are.

    Assassination plan:
    1. monitor the activities of Sapph and El from afar (preferably via Protoss Observer and through binoculars from half a mile away).
    2. See if Sapphirius is still around, or if she only appears when Sapph is killed.
3a. Sapphirius only appears when Sapph is killed. Set up Delta Green sniping position within range of where Sapph and El sleep. Indefatigable and 2 Al'Kesh in range to support with their Reality Emitters, and Aurors on standby.
4a. Put a bullet through each of their heads as they sleep.
5a. Hit Sapphirius as she comes through with a concentrated magical and psionic attack from the Aurors and Cheryl-Farseers-Psions-Psi-Veterans. Once stunned, headshots with mass rifles/Reality Disruptor Rifles.

3b. Sapphirius is around in human form. Set up Delta Green sniping position within range of where Sapph and El sleep. Indefatigable and 2 Al'Kesh in range to support with their Reality Emitters, and Aurors on standby.
4b. Coordinated and simultaneous attack of putting bullets in the heads of Sapph and El, and hitting Sapphirius with a magical/psionic attack to stun her and then tearing her apart via transporters and more headshots with mass rifles/Reality Disruptor Rifles.

Psionic attack should focus on making the target sleepy, and not feeling panic or fear, to minimize their resistance.

Have poisons or diseases EVER worked against a SUE?

For GTFO, we're using an Al'Kesh, and we can beam the Aurors back up before making our escape. The Al'Kesh regroups with the task force, and we use tactical micro-jumps to stay out of Sapphirus' range while pouring fire on her.

As for the killteam, that's what the Delta Greens with their transporting anti-material rifles are. There's also a backup Auror team, as well.

Look for evidence of changed patterns or habits since the day of the attacks.
We want to know if they've changed due to the incident, or written it off as having their guardian overcome their enemies.

I would suggest keeping the All Under Heaven a full AU away from Earth, or only jump in the stealthed ships to the dark side of the moon. If/When Sapphirus comes back, I want our ships to be able to warp in and out of range in multiple waves if we end up in another space battle. This will make our battlegroup harder for her/it to focus on and attack.

It worked in Eve-online, at least.

Methinks that Sapph/Ell may not be entirely "right" after their encounter with us.

Sure, they were reincarnated by Sapphirus. But Sapph was pretty much mindraped by Cheryl/X-com psychics, which combines government-trained psychic torturers and all the wonderful experiences that Cheryl had in Silent Hill and Horror-world. Not to mention that Ell was dismembered and was probably fully aware of what was happening for about 3 minutes before he expired. Both of them stared into the face of horrible, horrible death before meeting their ignominious ends

They may be planning something or trying to (unsuccessfully) cope with what just happened. These SUEs may be more than a little bit unstable right now.

Can the Observer listen in to any conversations going on inside the house, or otherwise detect movement patterns of the SUEs? What are they doing down there?

Let's at least focus on killing from a distance with the advantage of stealth and overwhelming force (compared to a human body). In fact, why don't we wait until they're asleep?!

An Auror ports in, holding up the mirror before him while looking away. The mirror shines brightly and as Sapphirus arrives, she instinctively looks away for a moment before returning her gaze to the mirror.

In its reflection is a homely, chubby young black woman with a dark expression on her face. Sapphirus' eyes widen as she stumbles back.

    "N... no! That's not me!" she mumbles. "I'm a goddess! I'm a goddess!"

The mirror shines brighter as her wings begin to catch fire, the feathers, scales, and flesh burning to ash and leaving the bone behind. Sapphirus falls to a knee.

"I'm... I control... I am... I am... a goddess..." she whispers as her tails snap off and begin to crumble to dust as her now skeletal wings begin to fall apart. Her features begin to shift and contort as her colors dull and her halo shatters. A dull sob escapes her. "No... don't make me go back... This isn't my dream... This isn't my dream..."

Her horns snap off and turn to dust as her features complete their change, leaving the woman in the mirror sobbing on the floor, clad in garish, gemmed clothes.

Technically, she didn't even do anything to this world, her independent creations is.

Then nuke it from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

....Okay, may not so much nuking.. But those black hole rifles and some phasers and shit to hide the murder evidence. But yeah. Kill Kill Kill. The bounty isn't for live capture, and while she still draws breath she could somehow regain her powers. Immediate death is the only option.

Bring her in alive. Officially, they were accepting just proof of her death for the reward. Bringing her in completely stripped of all powers and mentally broken? That has got to be worth a little extra DOSH. If nothing else, the R&D team will have a field day. We have only captured 1 Sue alive so far. Now we have a depowered one for comparison studies. Possibility for VP-98 hero perks:
"I don't know what I'm looking for but by god I'm going to find it" - VP-98 is very likely to stumble over things interesting to us, even if we are not specifically looking for them.
"Straight to the point" - if we DO know what we're looking for, or have a vague idea at least, VP-98 goes straight to the most relevant point by the easiest path possible.

Also, a whole thread without that Raidah faggot. That's cause for popping the bubbly in and of itself.

..Now down to business. Since I got voted down about killing this bitch, I guess the least we can do is do like we did with the SUE-rum thing we captured. Reality Emitters all around, turn the cap-grade emitter on the transporting ship full blast, secure several emitters to her body, bind her down face-down with the strongest restraints we have. Full magical, psionic, and medical paralysis/sedation. Aurors, KI, and Securitrons all guarding her, distribute those filter masks as well.

Honestly, even if we don't get extra "DOSH", she is a hugely valuable research subject. If we can duplicate the process that happened with the mirror, life will get much better for us in the future.

Once we understand something, we can control it. Once we can control it, we can weaponize it effectively.

Sapphy was a special case in that her biggest weakness was "herself", but there is still probably knowledge that can be gleaned about how SUEs work. Either way, she is worth more alive than dead. Especially with requisitions about to disappear.

    >> Anonymous 02/04/12(Sat)09:37 No.17801325
    >>17800833

I don't know which canon it comes from, but the Singularity laser is a capital-class weapon. In the President Vader-verse, it was shown to be capable of turning large amounts of UNSC/whatever starship plating into wisps of smoke in a very short amount of time; when we were attempting to shoot down a SUE-ified Alucard that turned into a huge blob corpse monster, all the missed shots turned the surrounding environment into a second Grand Canyon tourism site.

So basically, they're like, black hole weapons?

AWESOME! We need these on the TGBeins. and VF-25s. Got to scale them down to fit on them, tough.

Since using our ships is an exception and last resort, we need to get the powerful ship-mounted weapons to be mounted by our larger mechs.

Here's some suggestions I made in the planning thread for VP-98's traits:

Pure Pazaak: VP-98 is extremely good at bypassing security without setting off a fuss, whether it be nasty guardian beasties with keen senses or an extremely complicated encryption system. VP-98 also has a knack for finding exits.

You want me to do what?: VP-98 is capable of formulating a solid operating plan to achieve mission objectives, even if given a mission in an unknown world with vague mission parameters.

Seeker Protocols: Whether it be personnel, artifacts, or legends, this droid can find it and ensure that it gets back to the right people. In addition, VP-98's black box//memory core will eventually find its way back to the command crew, if the droid is lost or otherwise destroyed.
