Darkness. That's all there is. No light, no hope, nothing. How long has it been? Thousands of years? Millions? How long sense being sealed? You don't have any grasp of time in this infinite well of black. Faces you probably seen, things you may have experienced, they were fading gradually. You could have been here for five days, five weeks, or five thousand years.

    "Please..."

A voice of a young maiden? You try and find the source. Up, down, left and right you look but there's no one there. You call out, but there's no response.

"Please make a pact with me..."

A feminine voice. You at least recognize the gender. A pact? You know of no such ritual. The darkness sets in, the memories get darker.

Her voice echoes... over and over.

    [ ] Accept the pact
    [ ] Refuse her calling

"Before this pact of yours... what is it you ask of me? What do you want?" the girl takes in a deep breath, hearing your words.

"Everyone has turned their backs on us. The Gods, the spirits of the world, no one will help us." you can't see her face, but the sheer fear in her voice is enough to tip you off.

"So, you come to me for help? What is it you would have me do?"

"I was hoping that," she pauses for a moment, "You would help."

"Why would I be motivated to do this? I have no reason to help a mortal girl."

"They're the same people who imprisoned you." she finishes with a sob. She was quite distraught. "Please, I'll offer you anything just... help me, please! Help me overthrow them... I want to make them pay for everything they've done to me and my people! Please!"

Revenge on the Gods that sealed you into the deep darkness. Revenge on the spirits of the world and humanity. Maybe some fun along the way? Good enough. "I'll require that body of yours."

A gasp. Was she expecting this? "My body?" she hesitates for a moment. After a few seconds, she nods to assure herself. "Very well, you can... use my body as a vessel."

"Then this 'pact' of yours is formed."

    A loud roar escapes.

A light at the end of the tunnel. The location of the seal is revealed to be a large magical circle in the center of some cavern. The moon peaks in from the hole above, providing some sense of light. A silver-haired girl shakes with fear as the seal cracks. It slowly erodes, as does the magic keeping you bound.

As this goes on, foot steps echo through the cavern. Voices chatter, the foot steps slowly escalate into a rampage. The young summoner had been found. "No..." she mutters, holding her hands to her head. "Not like this, no."

"Stay away!" a moment passes and the young summoner is up on her feet, backing away from the entrance to the illuminated room. The people chasing her, revealed to be knights, raise their swords. Their plan consists of slaughtering the girl before the seal breaks, which would inturn stop the process. However, too late, the ritual was too far along for such simple measures.

The seal disappears, as does any hope for the soldiers' survival. Dozens of dark tendrils rush forward from the shadows, gripping each soldier by their feet, holding them nice and still.

"Huh?" the young girl looks up, seeing her attackers silenced. Not just the legs, but around the mouth and arms, they were your captives. "N-no, please don't kill them! Please, they're just doing their job!" she calls out, way too innocent to the situation.

Slaughter, interrogate, tons of options come up along with one to escape.

You loosen the grip on a single soldier, allowing him to speak. "Tell me what you know." you tighten the grip on the black tendril, causing the man to gasp for breath. You loosen up and allow him to talk.

"I..I.." he tries to talk, his eyes darting from left and right. He tries to grasp your form and the situation all together, and the result is a pair of wet pants. The young summoner stands up, and takes a step forward.

"They didn't do anything wrong! They aren't the ones I want! Please, don't kill them! The Gods, the spirits in the world.. the people who took my home land, those are the ones I want! N-not these knights! Please, don't." she falls on her knees, begging you.

Well we can't very well let them go. They will spread word that we have escaped from our prison, and send more competent enemies to try to seal us up again.

I say we kill them. We didn't agree to obey the girl's every command, only to fight her enemies. Even if she's too immature to understand the danger of letting them go free, we know better, and she'll just have to deal with it.

You don't say much of anything. She didn't want them dead, but perhaps you could use them? The tendrils expand outward, covering each soldier's head. What you do to them, what they see, it's something too complex for the human mind. Thought after thought manipulated to your whim. Each guard falls to the floor, losing their concious. The job was done, you could use them as tools if you so desire.

"What did you to do them?" the girl stands up, walking toward the downed men.

"Made them into tools. Now then, as we agreed." you retracts the tentacles and fall back into the shadows, your form losing all visibility. A straight, black line rips through the air. The thin darkness impales the young summoner, causing her to take a few steps back. She coughs and grimaces.

"GHh.." she struggles to stand up. The girl takes in a few deep breaths. Her hand goes up and it clenches. No, that was you, you were controlling her body.

    "You agreed to this."

"I know..." the girl bends down of her own volition. A large, white light rips into the darkened ground where the seal once was. The light emulates a familiar glow, something of a fake seal to throw others off.

With the knights handled and the ruse set up, there were other places to go. Maybe there was a town nearby? A forest? The possibilities were endless.

A few moments and you arrive outside of the cavern where the ancient seal was located. Those guards from before were their only defense? They didn't seem to think much of you, or you were forgotten. How insulting. "What's your name girl?" might as well begin with the information, staring with your summoners name.

"My name is Felice Ayers." she answers as the walk continues. You walk down a rocky path and navigate through some low branches.

"Felice, then. What town is located nearby? It's been a while, you know."

"The town of Addelbern... it houses the largest religious community on the country side." she says, much to your delight. Oh, how fun.

    "What god do they worship?"

"The Goddess of the Moon, Chandra." she looks down and then back up.

The first target, confirmed. Mutilate the Goddess.

The walk continues and you get enough information, at least. Addelburn worships the Goddess of the Moon and they don't think much of you. A community of a few thousand, popular shops around town and they're popular for the appopriately named Chandra Lake.

"Girl," you begin, "Why did you summon me? Why didn't you enlist the help of someone else? Where you really this desperate?" somethings even you didn't know. You recall her saying something along the lines of the Gods and spirits abandoning her and her people. "And another thing, why was I imprisoned?"

The girl's body trudges forward as you talk. You avoid another branch as the large city comes into view as torches appear on the horizon. "No one will help us... because we shared the way you used to view the world. The King of Gods dictates the lives of everyone and everything. No one can 'not' listen to him. We stayed to ourselves and our own little community, we didn't want to fight, we just wanted to live free from everyone's wrath. We did nothing and then, before we knew it, we were purged. We don't know why.. or what, but we called out for help. We didn't do anything to them, but... none of the Gods would help us, or the nature spirits. They turned their backs on us..." she whispers, looking to the ground. "And as for your past... I only know about the legend. You opposed the King of Gods with your followers, said to be numbered in the million, and you were cast into darkness. Under the influence of your power, your followers couldn't die or be destroyed, the only solution was... to be sealed."

"Yes, that's all. I didn't want you needlessly killing those people, they're victims just as much as I am."

"Hahahaha..." you laugh as a large, dark portal opens up nearby. It wasn't visible to anyone outside, thankfully. The guards appear, walking as if they were on night shift. They walk down the pathway ahead of you as you take a step back.

We've been sealed so long we have virtually no memory of who we were, and the true history of who we were has probably been long twisted by whatever pantheon currently rules the material plane. Ask our 'host' what she knows about us and how she came to know about us.

tl;dr find out exactly who or what we are/were.

"Let's get back to wherever you came from. Do you live nearby?" you say as you force the girl to turn away and into the forest.

"I came a long way... but I'm staying in a shack inside the forest. I had to work out a route to get into the seal without getting caught but obviously... that failed." she shakes her head, probably chastising herself. A shack in the forest? Convenient, or at least you think so.

Dismissing her own mistake, you continue on the walk through the forest. Wait, instead of just walking... "Think about the location of the shack. Don't question, just do as I say."

"U-um.. alright." Felice thinks and, using that as a spring board and without tampering with her mind, you fall into the darkness. In the skies above the shake, a large void opens up, dropping you straight down into the front of her temporary home.

    "W-what was that?" she asks.

"Magic." you answer as plainly as possible and move in. A few moments pass and you find yourself sitting down with an old, dusty book of no relevance to you. Nothing, absolutely nothing of use was in this shack. You were trying to find out what Gods were what and where they reside.

Perhaps a trip to the library? Check on the soldiers? You could continue to rummage the shack, but to what end?

Check the extent of our powers. Tell the girl to close her eyes and not open them until we say. Conjure illusions, conjure not-so-illusory illusions, see how far we can extend our reach, if we can enhance her body (not like that you pervert, speed and strength), have her nick herself with a knife and see if we can heal it, see if we can give her armor and things, see if we can put out tendrils to get a sense of the surrounding area nigh invisibly.

I like making the shack into a more hospitable area. And setting up some defenses, if possible - or at least markers so that we know if it's been tampered with. I want to know the shack inch by inch, so we can check it every time we come back to see if it's been fucked with.

Then library. Preferably at night so we can read everything at once.

"This shack is..." you look around, noting the single lantern, the dusty bed, the floorboards and the windows. Yeah, definetly not suited to your needs. You raise your hand, conjuring up a large, black void in the center of the room. It expands outward until it covers the entirety of the floor. Whatever you were using, Felice didn't recognize it as magic. It was spacial manipulation. Your powers were connected with darkness, the deep void. You could manipulate the thoughts of people, maybe even their bodies. The darkness expands outward and into something of a grand dome. A large throne, a bed fit for a king and other luxuries.

"O-oh my..." Felice eyes the new room in awe.

"You're a summoner... are you honestly this shocked?" you say, forcing the girl to walk forward. She takes a seat on the throne, one leg propped over the other.

"I am a summoner and a mage, yes."

"What kind of magic are you capable of doing?"

"My speciality is in seals but I'm capable of projecting barriers and ... firing projectiles. Magical orbs and the like... some explode as well."

"And you wanted to live peacefully?"

"I wish we didn't..." she trails off, looking up at the top of the dome.

"The outside is the same, the inside is different. Appearance isn't the only thing that changed, however. If someone tries to open the door? They'll just be greeted with a dusty shack. If I do? This."

"That's amazing..." she mumbles as she feels something... change. A dark aura rips up and then a sharp pain. She only feels the pain for a brief instant. A tendril worms its way up from the ground and... cuts her wrist. "Ahh!" she closes her eyes and attempts to grip the wound. "Why did you-"

The same black aura literally burns the cut away, leaving the skin as it was before. You strengthened her body and could heal the vessel as you pleased.

Mess with the body some more, go to the library, so many different options. The moon was out, those soldiers were truding around town as if nothing happened. There was a lot on the plate at the moment.

"Apologies for the small bit of pain." you stand up from the throne and walk forward. She seems to be letting you control the body. No protest, no nothing. "You seem to be comfortable with this." you say, forcing her to smile.

"Not really, I'm just doing what has to be done."

"Good then." you take what you get. You raise your hand, ripping up another black void. You only saw the entrance to the town, and getting into a library you've never even seen before is a difficult task. Ah, but wait, those soldiers know of the library. Using the same method you did with Felice, you use their thoughts as a trigger. You walk into the darkness, reapparing in a grand library.

Books of different colors line the shelves. Isle after isle of shelves. They certainly stock up on literature. Your central mission was to find the books on religion and mythology. After a couple minutes of browsing, you find what you're looking for.

"The Trinity of the Earth, Sun and Moon. Inanna, the Goddess of the Sun. Chandra, the Goddess of the Moon and Enki, the God of the Earth." you read on as your eyes dart from one end of the page to the other. A list of elemental spirits and their types, the basic breakdown of the gods. So many of them, however, the main trinity is what concerned you.

The book closes as you stand up, looking around the library.

The soldiers continue their walk around the city as you remain in the library. What was there to do now?

You had some information on the Gods now and have a good idea of where they may reside. Now was the problem of your own identity. "Felice," you say the girl's name, walking down an unexplored isle in the library, "What am I referred to as of now? In this world, I mean."

"The people that know of you just refer to you as Chaos as... I don't think anyone knows your real name. What is it, anyway?" she asks a question you have no idea about yourself.

"On another note, do you have any friends or relatives?" you try to start a simple conversation with her. The main effort was to get to know her better. You have to know what makes the person tick, right?"

    "Back home, yes."

"What's your favorite food?" you ask another question.

"Huh? I like strawberries. They're pretty good, especially from where I come from." that's all you needed to know. 'Lightly' probing the young girl's memory, you mimic the flavor, the taste of the food inside the girl's mouth.

"Mmm.. I.. didn't know you could do that." she smiles, licking her lips. While she does so, dark tendrils burst out from your shadow and expand outward. Every book, every word, every space is absorbed into your vast mind. You separate it from the young maiden who serves as your vessel. A human mind can't comprehend all of this information at once. However, a god is easily capable of such a feat.

The taste dies out in her mouth. She licks her lips again in a vain attempt to recapture that sensation. "That... was a tease." she sighs.

There were plenty of spirits and Gods to sort through and defeat. Plans were going to be necessary to even stand a chance. You were strong, yes, but not strong enough to take on three or so Gods at once. You couldn't die, but you could certainly be sealed. The same can't be said for the rest of them, however. You remotely tap into the possessed guards to get some sort of feed on the situation.

They were on their typical rounds through the city. Down the street, looking for anyone out at in the middle of the night. Wait, the night... something was off. The connection to the guards began to weaken. A faint voice rang through the air. Your thoughts distort and you wince in pain. What was going on? A sensation of deep pain wells up from within your chest. Felice feels the same thing.

"Messing with my believers... in the middle of the night while the moon is full?" a voice. You recall it. You certailny know it.

"Chandra?" you mutter her name as the terrible pain passes. A shake of the head and you fix your gaze forward. She approached already?

"I'm a compassionate Goddess, you know" she walks forward, her long, white hair flowing in some sort of aura that branches off of her figure. Piercing green eyes, a generous smile. She stands there in the middle of the isle, showing no intent to fight you.

You take a step back. A deep, calming breath... this got bad fast.

Isn't the thread auto-saging at this point? That would explain the slowness.

Ask her why we were sealed.
Ask her how things have been.
Ask her what has happened in the world since you have been gone.
Ask her why this girl is so mad.
Ask her for one full moon cycle (until the next full moon) to stretch your limbs, feel and see the world, before you are sealed again - if you are sealed again.

We strike at the new moon.

While talking, ready yourself to teleport away. Form a protective layer around our vessel. Slow her heart, block her senses with a shadowy helmet and whisper in her ear that we will return her senses to her soon. In the mean time, give her some nice sensations - a warm bath, a single strawberry, some nice soft ocean sounds...

And be prepared to teleport back to the shack at a moment's notice. If she follows us there, to the ocean.

    Has anyone archived this?

Wouldn't want it to fall off the last page and be lost to future players, since it seems this is going to be a long quest.

"Compassionate? Then WHY? Why was this girl so desperate for any kind of help that she would summon me, against all common sense? What hell have you allowed to bloom in this garden while I slept?" your eyes turn into menacing slits, questioning this so called Goddess. In this light, she looked more like a witch.

"Why? Now tell me, if they don't give us the time of day, why should we give them anything? I mean, they should consider how we Gods feel once in a while, you know?" she says, sighing. Her head shakes from side to side. And the garden? Weeds sprouted and we're trying to get rid of them."

"Hypocrisy fits you." you mimic her own motion. If she was willing to let people die because the Gods and her craved worship and attention, they aren't worthy of their titles. Self-centered, you now remember why you hated them. Why you despised them.

"Hypocrisy?" Chandra giggles. "It's only fair, isn't it?"

"I thought Gods were supposed to protect their people, not just grant them some kind of service. Some compassion, Chandra."

She frowns, obviously not amused. "Leave my sight."

There was a fullmoon out, and it was night, your chances of winning here would less than zero. She was letting you go? She probably didn't consider you the same threat as the first time you appeared. That was a mistake she'd live to regret. Heeding her words, you fall into the darkness. You had to think up a way to fight her, someway or another. She knew when you tampered with her believers, she knew if you did anything of the sort...

This was going to be a difficult struggle.

    ==End==

That's all for tonight folks. I'll continue this Saturday!

Last time I checked, it updated itself.

Then again it's been about a year since I last used it, so some features may have declined over time.

Actually, she seemed willing to at least speak with us. When we told her she was a hypocrite she got upset and told us to get out of her sight. Probably because she knew she was right, but is probably too weak/cowardly to face this so-named godking. Maybe with some coaxing we could get her to rebel against the king?
