ohh boy, time to add Trude to the harem I guess given how much wish fulfilment this quest is all about. We could add her to the list of characters whose personalities are diminished by their casual acceptance of a polygamous relationship. Wasn't Hayate's original harem scenario one that didn't pay out, like a normal sustainable harem? See normally you have a bunch of girls want a relationship but they compete for the real thing along with acceptance. A harem end is usually a rare uncommon thing because of insecurities in humans, if you have a polygamous relationship the concern is that the main character is taking you for granted and loves one of the others more (the one with the most influence). Basically it's a fucking mess and it's easier to have a bunch of competitors then have everyone amicably agree to share.

Nevermind I guess, everyone is so focused on being 'swag' they don't want any of the negative connotations of that. So rather then being a playa breaking hearts and getting the goods, Hayate is more like Shiki only unlike Shiki who actually has to pick a girl (they sure as fuck won't share) Hayate manages to have them all unanimously decide it's cool to share because he's a nice guy and that totally works out. Lets call this Waifu Quest and be done with it.
