Villian, asks riddles. The answer is always spiders. Then he magics it so spiders is the answer in a creapy sort of way. Start with really odd ones that seem clever, then get very straightforward once they catch on. Then just have him ask random riddles and MAKE the answer spiders in some wierd way. . . "

    For example:
"What's inside all of you and the walls?
what slowly, surely, creaps and crawls?
what is going to feast on flesh tonight?
To your horror and my delight?"

    Arachnophobia
    >Evocation
    >Sor/Wiz 1
    >Components: Verbal, Somatic
    >Casting Time: 1 standard action
    >Range: Medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level
    >Targets: Up to five creatures, no two of which may be more than fifteen feet apart
    >Duration: Instantaneous
    >Saving Throw: None
    >Spell Resistance: Yes

You point your fingers at your desired target, and 1d4+1 spiders crawl out from under his or her flesh, biting their way to freedom before vanishing in a puff of smoke.

For every two levels beyond the first, another 1d4+1 batch of spiders is created by this spell - two batches at level three, three batches at five, four at seven and so on. If you have multiple sets of spiders, you can have them erupt from a single target or you may select multiple targets for this spell. A single batch of spiders may only afflict one creature. Each spider does one point of damage to the target.

    Spider boss monster.

When struck monster splits, producing additional spiders, smaller than the original. Original takes half damage and produces spiders equal to damage. When the spiders number equal to the boss's HP they may cast spiders to spider, and become a secondary spider boss monster.

Course you would need some weakness that doesn't cause the spider to split, or takes out the spiders produced by the split.

Also to throw the battle into total wtf, make the big spider able to revive the smaller spiders, and the smaller spiders healers.

    Forcespider
    Evocation [Force, Spider]
    Level: Sor/Wiz 7
    Components: V, S, M, Spider
    Casting Time: 1 standard action
    Range: Close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
    Area: Spider
    Duration: 2 hours/level (D)
    Saving Throw: None
    Spell Resistance: No

This powerful spell brings into being an invisible spider composed of force.

Creatures within the area are caught and eaten unless they are too big to fit inside, in which case the spider will chew first. Teleportation and other forms of astral travel provide a means of escape, but the spider extends into the Ethereal Plane.

Like a wall of force spell, a forcespider resists dispel magic, but it is vulnerable to a disintegrate spell, and it can be destroyed by a sphere of annihilation or a rod of cancellation.

    Material Component

Ruby spiders worth 1,500 gp, which are tossed into the air and disappear when you cast the spell.

Someone pointed out the Spider Hand spell and we couldn't stop laughing. It turned your hand into a spider.

Someone then suggested a cursed item that was a pair of gloves. Put said gloves on and Spider Hand is cast, turning both your hands into spiders.

here's a simple fun trap that is painfully obvious - yet quite sneaky

    its the old
    >two doors, with two masks over them, one tells the truth, the other always lies, and one door leads to certain doom, the other to your goal

here's the catch: while one does tell the 'truth' and the other lies, then they're made to lead you in the wrong direction no matter what. I mean, the people who made the place would know the right way anyway, why would they need ridles to figure out where to go?

Spider Legs is also a hilarious spell. The Caster grows 4 spider legs and gains a 30ft speed and 15ft Climb speed.

I made lots of use of the spell by storing it in a Spell Storing Dagger and hitting my friends with it. The Druid made great use of this tactic by Wild-Shaping into things like Tigers and Grizzlies, climbing up walls, then making charge attacks at people by dropping from rooftops and ceilings.

    Good times. Good times indeed.

I once played a savage worlds game, My character was a Bestial race who pretty much resembled a crossbreed between an Orc, Bigfoot, with claws for hands and a vile temperament.

He once tore a Boss-encounter Sandwurm beast in half by grabbing each end of its jaw and pulling until he split it down the middle, moments after it made its first appearance.

My Character died while fighting a horse-sized spider. Not because the Horse-sized spider, but because the thousands of little spiders crawling up his body biting his furry ass all the way up.

If that wasn't bad enough, one of the party members decided to smash a lantern in the swarm, setting them on fire. IT was rather effective, about half-died or scattered, the other half carried on, setting more spiders on fire.

Unfortunatley, most of the now enflamed spiders were swarming my not-so-gentle-giant bigfoot ogre, who was now covered in burning spiders while being on fire himself, flailing with claws the size of small swords and being badly poisoned as he goes.

Since air is composed of chemicals I'd say we already do via the coloration effect from sunlight (why our sky is blue, venus sky is sulffery yellow, and mar's sky is red). One also wounders about technological means of seeing chemicals. Those might someday be linked to our brains as we can already restore sight to the blind from implants--though they can barely see very low grade pixeled shapes.

    Though I was thinking riverspider.

That would be a good one for use if one wanted to use a clasic, then have the answer be spider.

Have some MacGuffin be a magical rubik's cube, but don't inform the players that property of it. Make it some unknown item that is held in the grips of some wizard, he gives them this riddle.

    >It shifts its form by your touch, becoming something stranger
    >You have to show the world its true shape, if you wish to avoid danger
    >What is it?

Have them go on a quest to learn that the answer is the macguffin itself, with the wizard revealing that the damn thing has a curse that unless one can solve that mystery it'll just return to the previous owner's possession once you go 100 feet away. Also, giving the answer negates that because he tried it before and found the thing back on his dresser more scrambled than it had been before he tried to give it away.
