Had a friend who used an AC that was MISSLES EVERYWHERE, within the first minute the match was over one way or another because either he was out of missles and therefore fucked or the other guy was dead. Usually it was the later. I'm always fond of the High risk build where if you miss with so much as a single shot you're done. In any game with dice on the other hand I've long since learned that you need as many dice as possible because I went an entire year without rolling above 10 on a d20 on combat. Never again, dice pools from now on.

The machinegun arms were kickass in that game, and then I stuck a high-power plasma cannon on the left shoulder.
On an ultralight frame.
With a heavyweight generator.

I have to say I have been unimpressed by certain rolls and their outcomes in the quest every now and then. I was thinking maybe instead of the first guy to post a roll to roll for us, we take the first three rolls and average them? That way that one guy who rolls the 1 doesn't bite it for us when the next rolls are respectable 14 and 17s or something.

Oh man, my AC's were horrible. I always went heavy tread legs, with dual chainguns and then as many Missiles as I could fit onto it. it always did pretty well until I hit a certain mission, which in AC4A was the White Glint mission, and could never beat it. Tried other styles, but just couldn't get away from my gun boat of a Core.

Looking at your Radar, you confirm three contacts closing in from behind. You slow down just enough for you to catch them on the long range scanner.

The first one looks like an even lighter build than yours, and seem to be packing some sort of whip-like weapons. You mentally designate him as Goon 1.

The next one, following close behind, has some sort of modified shot-gun, anti-lock chaff, and some HEAVY boosters. He is Goon 2 in your mind, now and forever.

The last of the trio breaks the pattern by having tank treads, and one of the biggest guns you've ever seen on his back. He's also carrying a pair of mid-range grenade launchers.

It's a snatch and grab. They're shooting for a mobility kill. The one with the whip is clearly meant to take a few blows and hold you while the one with the modified shot-gun, which you now realize has some sort of Electric....

Fuck. One's going to grab you, and the other's going to zap you until it fires the AI core. The third man is the nuclear option in case they decide he plan's too risky. That gun looks almost big enough to cut through a Carrier.

Smart way to play it would be to keep the other two close, and let the THINK they're going to win eventually. As long as they see their success as probable, they won't scrub the kidnapping and kill you.

If you can keep them busy long enough for your team to arrive......
