Hey guys you know what we haven't done yet? Guys night out. We should invite Josh and then Laurence, Mooch and Dave and hit up the town. Safety in numbers and we have an unobtrusive way of spending time with Laurence and find out whats eating him.
    >> AC-Guy 04/22/12(Sun)01:11 No.18811525
    YOU ARE ALEX RASTON.

Currently, you are making waffles for everybody.

You didn't intend to do this, but you couldn't get the batter to mix right until you had enough to feed the whole team, not just you and Elsie.

Apparently Mooch didn't do the normal routine, since he spent all night repairing your core so you and Elsie are currently the only ones awake. Mooch walked past with a warning not to wake him until noon.

You look at the giant pile of fluffy golden brown waffles, fresh out of the Waffle Iron.

    >Wat do?

    [ ] Wake everybody.
[ ] Send Elsie to wake everybody.

You tell Elsie to set the table for you while you get people out of bed.

You discover Ari slept over as well in one of the spare rooms, since it was really late when that little chain of events happened.

Speaking of which, after discovering Lawrence isn't in his room (apparently he didn't come home last night), you go wake your newest arrival. She joins you for breakfast, as the rest of the group shuffles in.

Everybody except Mooch. You remember the last time you woke him up after an all-nighter, he can STAY comatose for all you care.

You dish out the breakfast, and you decide to have a little conversation.

"Has anybody seen Laurie since he left last night?"

"He was here earlier, walked out after saying something about a mistake. Haven't seen him since."

"Should we be concerned about that?"

"I don't see why yet. I mean, it's hardly the first time he's up and vanished for a while. I'll call around the local jails and make sure somebody matching his description didn't end up tossed in a drunk tank."

You shrug. "Yeah, alright. Weird that he would come here drunk and then leave again."

"Wasn't drunk when he got here, apparently. Probably just looking for more Booze."

Ari looks up vaguely concerned "Does... does he have a drinking problem?"

"Not really," you answer "But occasionally something will get under his skin and he'll go on a bit of a bender. We'll worry about it if he isn't back by tonight."

She seems slightly reassured by this.

That's valid if there's no consensus after much discussion.
But the post you linked to was talking about how a consensus would emerge, Planefag would begin writing, and in the middle of his writing, the first consensus would collapse in favor of a second consensus.
A completely different problem from the one you describe.

You're back where you lost it. You think. Your memory's hazy with the hangover, and all the buildings look different in the daylight.

You're looking around the empty lot, looking at how the sands around here seem to have shifted a bit with the wind. Maybe? You aren't sure. Maybe this is the wrong place.

Looking over the board, you see a couple of decent options. Apparently some bandits recently hit a merchant convoy, and a price was put on them as a result. The offering's at 700k, but only if you get all five of them.

Omer's also asking somebody to sign up and look for one of their transport ships that crashed in he desert before someone loots it of valuables.

There's also some sort of Arena tournament for the next few days, apparently they're willing to wave the entry fee for you to bring in your team of three. Words been getting out apparently. Prizes for runner-ups aren't too bad, and the grand prize is almost three million.

Hmm, the merchant convoy is interesting but dealing with a large group is risky and if even one of them runs we don't get paid.

Omer is a possibility but we can't do that one if Laurie is being a drunk, we need recon for something like that.

Hell we haven't done the Arena yet, the entry fees are waived and it sounds fun. Us, Dave, Mooch is probably the best team we can muster, I'm not sure how useful Elsie sniping would be in an enclosed arena.

He's our mechanic, and a cool guy, we need to be friendly with him so we can rope him into whenever we get around to doing a guys' night.

And I just realized, Lawrence is recon, right? Does his core have any antennas other cores don't?

"So Ken, what've we got going in terms of parts?"

"About what's on the cores at the moment. It's all in good shape, but we don't have much in the way of variety at the moment. Why, you thinking about upgrading?"

"Maybe. We do have a little bit of money right now."

"Yeah. If you want I can look into some basic retro-fit packages for you, maybe even get some custom sets made later."

    "Why not just build parts?"

"More efficient method of operating. Besides, while we CAM kitbash something together, it'll be HELL for anybody besides us to work on it. Plus this way if you lose an arm,we can get another arm off the shelf. I'm just Glad Mooch's core hasn't had any serious damage yet, because half of that thing is custom. Great for performance boosts, absolute hell for your support crew."

"So avoiding custom bits would help you repair it faster and better?"

"In theory. But honestly? If you need a custom bit, get it. Saving us a head-ache is not worth losing our star pilot."

    "Star-pilot?"

"You didn't hear? Last mission put you at Ace. It's not OFFICIAL yet, but you can start thinking about a patch for your core."

    "Wow. Thanks Ken."

"No prob. I need to get back to flushing the fluids on Dave's core. The magnetic gels help improve movement and reaction time, but he plays it so rough we need to repair them twice as often."

    "Alright. Later Ken."

    [ ] Check on Dave's progress.
[ ] Check to see if Mooch is awake.
