The corpses was sure to draw attention. You turn around and walk back toward the bloodied corpse. "Huh...?" you look down where there was still a pile of blood. Yes, there was a pile of blood but the girl was missing.

She stood tall, or as tall as her small stature allows. "Huff.. huff..." she took in two deep breaths and brought her staff up. There was a neon blue liquid around her throat. It runs down her back and originates at the spine. Regeneration magic. Very very powerful regeneration magic.

Your eyes widen in surprise. That was unexpected, certainly coming from such a young girl. With her original blue outfit decorated a crimson red, she walks forward. The staff begins to glow, runic letters orbiting around it.

It releases a straight, narrow stream of energy. It had a sharp point, no doubt meant to pierce your stomach or neck. The way it moves, it was going to be there in an instant.

You close your eyes. Focus. You focus and return to the gray world you've become accustomed to. The magic, no longer a blue, but a deep, inky black.

You take the knife in hand and cut. The ink splatters as soon as the knife makes contact with it. What you see and what the girl sees is different. In her eyes, you literally killed the magic blast before it had a chance to damage you. She takes a step back. Soon after she turns and begins to run. Given a few seconds, she'd probably fly away.

It splatters.

The magic dies the instant the knife makes contact. "Is that all you got?" you say without a hint of emotion. You run forward. That seals her fate. The moment she turned around to attack and delay you, that sealed her fate. You reach forward and grab her by the neck.

"N-no, please, please no! Daddy! Help! Daddy!" her eyes fill with tears. You killing her the first time traumatized her. You expected it, honestly. "P-please, please no! Please!" before she can yell out again, you cup your hand over her mouth.

The attacks become faster. Your hand is a blur. Soon, given only a few moments, the little girl no longer exists. Every strand of magical energy gone, her body was nowhere to be seen. The only thing remaining was a man in the alley, crouching down in a large quantity of blood.

The source of the distortions in the world are magic. From birth, you had this ability. The gray world was the thing you could see. You could see these distortions in the world, and you were branded insane.

You hear footsteps. Most Treaders don't influence the outside world, but this one was making noises. It was still invisible, but it was still making noises. Soon enough, it'd be born. It would kill and destroy without remorse. Treaders that strong are unaffected, even by magic. The only person that could kill it was... you.

OP, this is an interesting premise you've set up, but I feel you tipped your hand far too early. I came expecting more or less Nanaya Shiki/Satsujinki hunting magical girls instead of vampires. I would have liked a few threads of that before suddenly antagonizing Q from Star Trek.
