Why hello there dear strangers!

Shall we continue the telling of this story tonight?

Our very dear Akuma-chan...
Forged out of a once-baker's soul named Claire... A pitiful woman that had been strangled to death by a beggar for her creation of love.
Called back by her since child-hood friend, Jacob, that had always looked upon Claire fondly, oh so fondly..
Once I granted the dear her body, she killed the man out of spite for turning her into a delightful monster!

And so now, she wears his skin and kills humans in secret to spread the despair that gave her this wonderful second life!
She has also continued baking bread. <3

Welcome to the quest of the Akuma, Good Evening my dear fellows!

This is the story thus far!
http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Akuma%20Quest

These are your current stats and abilities as of now!

Oh my, I am a touch early.

Allow me to set up...
>>
You are currently within the castle-town of Temes,England ruled by a despot of a Lord in the Fantasy beginning of the 15th century.

The date is January, 12th, 1400.

Your current property is a small 1 person run Bakery and what share you have of Jacob's farm.

There is at least 1 exorcist within the city on the hunt for Akuma.

Many homeless people are dead...

Yada. Yada.

I believe you understand the point...
>>
You ease your mind as you take a nice fresh loaf of bread out of the stone oven, placing it upon the counter to cool for the young lady, you strain a smile as you keep yourself under control in this verrry important and sooothing activity, "Here you are, the very best bread of the morning!"
The girl's eyes light up, seemingly entranced by the bread and its smell,"Oh wow, this smells as good as I've heard! Say, do you make sweet things as well?"
You throw your hands up and shake your head," Oh no, no.. I dear friend of mine recently passed away. I took over this bakery in her memory... I think it's what she would have wanted.."
The young lady stares at you from underneath her hood, her mouth drooping open a bit at your sad words.
She runs behind the counter and gives you a heavy hug, her head stopping just below your chest,"Don't cry Mr. Baker! It's okay, she's in the hands of God now! I'm so sorry... This bread.. it'll taste better knowing that you serve your friend's memory..."

You REALLY want to kill her right now...

"I really need to put my next bake in the oven or it'll overproof.." You put her on the head, dismissively.
She lets go and smiles at you,"I'll watch you for a bit, can I mister Baker?"
"Sure, go ahead" You grab some rising bread from the counter and throw it in the Oven, the girl throws silvers upon the counter after snatching the hot loaf of bread and juggling it between her hands.
"Ah, erm... little lady, this is too much..."
"It's fine," she says, brown hair slipping from underneath the hood, and now you see thick iron shackles dangling upon her wrist, and hazel eyes. "The Church gives me plenty of money, I'm an exorcist after all. I come to places where bad things happen and make them stop!"
You put a look of surprise upon your face," Oh, I see, are you here then about the beasts in the wood? They've been out of control these days..."
The young lady nods vigorously,"Rightly so! I'm gonna go beat -em up!"
>>
You force a laugh as you take another round of bread from the oven," Well, you be careful not to hurt yourself little lady..."
"I won't, I'll visit you again before I leave! Bye, Bye Mr. Baker!"
The young lady runs off and leaves you richer before your regulars stop in... It is with some grim contemplation that you consider what needs to be done...
She smells... terrible... You think to yourself...
>>
Anything below a 5 is a crit-fail anything above 95 is a crit. Devil's luck inverts these two instances.

So, if Devil's luck is activated and 94 is rolled, it'll be a 94. However a 95 will be a fail.
Conversely, 1-5 will be a crit whole if it's 6 it's still a 6.

To avoid requesting Devil's luck every roll, I'll assume it's alyeay on or off based on flipping the switch. THe thing about Devil's luck is that when it crits with 5 or below... the resulting "scene" is... Interesting. Further ranks of Devil's luck will increase the potency of the effect and even allow it to be turned on retroactively so many times.
>>
Dear Earl,

Can we combine ability together, like say, poison and fire, to create a burning liquid substance that burn people from the inside out and can start fires?

Does devil luck still grant that passive bonus to gambling and grants random benefic events?
>>
>>25328005
Ok, what level of Akuma are we? Because that's going to matter A LOT if we run into an exorcist.

Plus, letting everyone know who doesn't know about this setting is that there is this one guy, he's kinda like Jesus, who can both spot us through our disguise AND wreck our shit easy if we aren't of a sufficient level. He's also immune to our virus bullets. So yeah, see him? Run, run away, especially if he puts on a mask.
>>
>>25328280
Level 1. Last thread, we ended with a roll to look for the other Akuma. We did good.

Alternate timeline. There is no Allen Walker here.. Though there may still be a whiteface to chase augustine.

Also, Akuma-chan is lv 1, however in this, Lv-1's take the form of dogs with one type of weapon or another. They start with a touch of variety, though they're still mostly the same.

I chose hounds to give a nod to hellhounds and the hound of baskerville.

>>25328267

Ah, yes, I'm sorry I had gotten too wrapped up in explaining that other point.

OF course! However you will need to put points into these adaptations!

And Devil's luck will provide bonus to gambling and may grant other odd events.
>>
>>25328324
Ok, no fighting exorcists for us yet then. Level 1s are red shirts, even shitty exorcists waste them by the dozen.

So, lets find our little brother in the forest before that mean disgusting exorcist finds him first!
>>
>>25328409
i still think we should just just leave him alone and let this just blow over.
>>
So, we may be about to meet our next of kin. The rumors about him describe him as a wolf, so he either has teeth like us or claws.

>>25328477
We rolled well enough in the last thread. It may mean that we were lucky enough to not cross paths with an exorcist?
>>
You bake bread until your normal close of shop around noon, it's been a slow day.. Likely due to the advent of an Exorcist... Despite being good, their presence means that a place is unsafe.. A smile splits your face.
Of course, that's because you're you!

You resolve to find the other Akuma, whether your kin dies or not isn't necessarily your concern.. You'd like to see if they manage to injure this apparent "Exorcist." The Earl would be pleased if you happened to kill her after all..

No, you would be pleased...

You enter the wood wearing your human disguise, with the subtle thought that should you run into the exorcist woman out here, you'll have the first strike.

You make good time, very good time through the woods. The other night of prowling did you good in figuring out the trails and you soon find the fresh tracks of the other Akuma, the little brother that you surely had a hand in making..

You come upon withering trees with metal crossbolts lodged in them and follow the trail from there...

In the late afternoon, you come upon what seems to be a wolves' den dug out of the ground and under a withering tree... There's a ferocious animal in there... On with servos, oculars and a dark matter heart like yours...

>How will you approach?

>[] Greetings... (Write in)
>[] I found him first, time to kill this fool.
>[] Do you have a plan?)
>[] Well, we've found him... Meh, let's go gamble and kill homeless people...
>[] (Other)
>>
>[] Greetings...
There lurks one who would kill you if she could. A stench unforgettable will herald her coming and strength of Innocence her weapon. I propose a race. The one who kills her gets the town to itself. The other will leave.
>>
>>25328505
Ooh. Crossbow? How fitting.

Let's greet him and hope he doesn't remember us/hold any grudges. Well, we should be safe-ish since he'll technically be a different person. Unless he took up a berserk-ish personality quirk.

"Hello again. Do you remember me? Because I remember you. And it seems you've been quite busy since I last left you."

Depending on how receptive he is, we could either just warn him about the exorcists or try to work out a plan with him.
>>
>[x] Greetings...

Lets inform him of the situation in town.

Lets try to evaluate him a bit, to see if he could make a good pawn.
>>
>>25328569
Why would we want him to leave? We encouraged the events for his creation so that we would have a scapegoat for our own activities. And he's been relegating himself to the forest anyway. We've got the city for our own.
>>
>>25328652
We're lying our asses off. We want him to take the blame for all the deaths we've caused so the exorcists will leave.
>>
>>25328340
in b4 the whole plot falls apart because he and 14ner aint here :V
>>
>>25328670

Eh?

What are you talking about?
>>
>>25328663
No, we want the exorcist to toast his sorry ass so he can think "Jobs done" and leave, leaving us alone with all the "Free EXP" so we can ding level 2 ASAP.

>>25328692
If you don't know what he's talking about ye needs to read the manga man. Anime cut off right when shit was getting serious.
>>
>>25328663
Yeah, but why have him leave? It's not like the exorcists have the natural ability to track down akuma. They rely on rumors on hearsay.

If we manage to kill the party sent here by the exorcists, they'll send another one in who may or may not assume that the akuma has left. Either way, the next guy will investigate the area for a while. We'd have to do better to hide ourselves rather than letting the other akuma take the heat for us.
>>
>>25328692
>>25328730
I think the other anon just phrased his statement a bit weirdly, which confused our QM. The plot is supposed take place a long time before D.Gray-Man.

IN THE DISTAAAAAANT PAAAAAST.
>>
I wonder, would get gain any benefit by eating little bro here?

I think we should invest in willpower really soon, because next time we cross path with one, we may not be able to restrain ourself.
>>
>>25328779
Yes, if you kill him, exp will be gained.
>>
You approach the wolves' den and spy the beast staring back at you from under the gnarled branches.

Your kin hasn't the glorious teeth like your own beast-like form, no, instead it is a solid metal piece, an unmoving jaw. Its eyes are empty and you presume that yours are very much the same. You see the tip of a black crossbolt peaking out from out of the mouth. Seems that they are spat out... hmm..

You find that a greeting is in order. If this "brother" of yours does indeed die terribly, at the very least he will take the blame for the murders... Oh yes... "Hello again. Do you remember me? Because I remember you. And it seems you've been quite busy since I last left you."

The beast growls back at you, a metallic churn," What... do... you... want...."

So it speaks.. yet it does not take the form of a human.. it's noticeably... less intelligent than your own self.. or perhaps it's just not quite personable? "I have come to you with a warning an exorcist will be looking for you within this wood. You should try to kill them, it would please the creator greatly. It would please him... indeed."

"I.... Kill... Human... I... Kill... Exor...cist..." The creature begins to move, its joints creaking and servos whirring as it stirs. It rises from its shelter and begins to leave into the wood.

It is... definitely not too bright..

>[] Shadow him.

Err wut? We want him to attack the exorcists. I'm giving him incentive to do so. That incentive is leaving him the town if he manages to kill them before we do.

Of course its all a load of bolony as we no intention of attacking an exorcist at this time.

I've read it, all of it. manga and anime.

The man just phrased it in a queer fashion. Nay, nay, there is more plot underfoot in this alternate past.

Ah, as an aside note, I noticed continuity errors within the setting and I'll be doing what I can to work with and around them in this setting.

Also, as a retroaction, the Millenium Earl's name in this will be "Nostradamus."

"Millenium Earl" is the human name of the Noah leader. His noah name is Adam. As this is an alternate setting and prior generation around the time of the black plague, Nostradamus will do as he was a famous plague doctor and man of many great mysteries. He serves a noble role.
>>
>>25328849
>>25328861
Pretty much.

Dark Matter engines generate suffering into pure power and anti-life. It's the source of all your magic, special abilities, and existence as an akuma.

>>25328881
That should be good enough. Though would you intend to do so in human form, or your Akuma-form?
>>
>[x] Shadow him.

Lets shadow him for a while, but lets be careful, we must absolutly avoid the exorcist.

>>25328769
In the not to distant paaaaaaaast, last sunday A.D., there was an Akuma named George, so different from you or me.
>>
>>25328923
Human, so that we could have the excuse of trying to avoid the other guy in case somebody sees us? What does everyone else think?

The trees would give us a good vantage point and people rarely look up anyway, so it'd be a good place for a surprise attack.

It will modify relevant rolls and oppose an npc's hidden stat for whichever criteria. Willpower will be important vs exorcists to reduce the penalty they would give you to your roll.

Yada Yada. Background noise... Stats will also have hard affects as to whether or not you can do certain things. Such as requiring 3 agility to leap the wall into the city. or requiring x strength to push off a boulder and so on.
>>
What if we kill the Exorcist and frame the wolf? We just need to get it's bolts and use them.
>>
>>25329229
Hard to frame someone if we leave no corpse. Exorcists are tasty.
>>
>>25329229
It's not like the exorcists know what weapon he uses.

But yeah, if we kill the exorcist and they send another one in, they'd be confused if they see Akuma #2 without a weapon that claws or rends. So we'll want to dispose of the body (in the only way we know how) if we manage to take the exorcist down.
>>
You let the idiot child go ahead of you as he seemingly wanders aimlessly with that blank stare of his.

You leap up into the trees with inhuman agility and trail the despondent fool.

The day drags on some and you notice the beast actually sniffs the ground and checks for trails...

In time, he finally comes upon a clearing within the woods with a worn in game-trail leading into it.

The snow is upon everything, an expansive field of white... and within.. you see a black-robed human, short in stature.

You feel your gut wrench as you feel the instinct to transform and destroy her...

Your little brother approaches stoicly from the wood and you hear a voice dance across the drifts of snow on this winter's day.

"Oh pitiful Demon, you have wandered here... Allow me... to put your soul to rest... Innocence, Lion of the first Labor."

You see a shimmer from the black-robed figure and a golden coat surround it.. She said it... she said it, she said it, she said it... INNOCENCE.

Roll 1d100 to hold yourself back. No bread this time, Akuma-chan.

not just on an exorcist bro

After the exorcist, we eat our brother for more XP.

We won't need his cover anymore and hes too stupid to be let free.
>>
>>25329848
It doesn't mean we instantly win. We land a hit, deal some damage. I doubt she's going down this easy. Will need another good roll to finish her.

For Akuma, exorcists are like boss fights.
>>
>>25329887
We could try to control him. It's better to have a pawn than to be alone.
>>
>>25329919
EAT HER FACE.

Then find some way to drag her Innocence back so the Noah can destroy it.
>>

He's a wild dog, not just figuratively.

I say we try to make another akuma, a smarter and more submissive one.
>>

Just see what happens if we try to order him around first.
>>
>>25330028
He doesn't talk much, heck he can barely say a whole sentence.

I tell you he's dangerous and will attract unwanted attention.
>>
>>25330058
So you're not even going to try? It's not like I'm saying we won't if it turns out he really is uncontrollable. Just that we try first to see if we can 'tame' him.
>>
>>25330058
I think the speech thing is because he doesn't have a working mouth, you try talking without moving your jaw.
>>
>>25330099
Lets give this a shot afterward, for the sake of the dubs you got if anything.
>>
>>25330146
Thank you, ser.
>>
You follow the girl closely as your kin futilely shoots bolt after bolt at the girl to no avail, whatever power each shot has does nothing to slow the girl's advance... Until she yells and rears her fist back for the killing blow, your kin fires one last bolt into her mouth, shocking her and causing her to fall back as it seems to protrude from her head.

It is with a grim satisfaction that you close in to finish the did, leaping across the drifts of snow, flurries lying in your wake as you dive in to feast upon her flesh!

As you dive down, you see that the girl holds the bolt betwixt her teeth, an astonished and pained look upon her face...

And then you realize, the arrow's spraying poison into her...

You take your bite, pressing your teeth down intro her and finding that they do not pierce her skin, as the bolts had not either.

You lift up the girl in your maw and tear her around, trying to get them in deeper, yet to no avail... Yet you notice pentacles appearing upon her skin as she struggles... Oh yes, this is good... it's taking...

Yet even as you think that, a blow comes across the side of your face and you are forced to let go, the side of your head caved in to some degree, yet your maw still works.

The Exorcist readjusts herself and starts panting heavily as the golden light begins to waver," Damnit... no... No... Innocence..."

She's up to something...

Your kin stands up, shaking off the apparent pressure that she had put on him from her advance. His empty eye stares at you and he unleashes a growling sigh from his locked jaw as another bolt appears, at the ready.

Akuma-Chan Damage: Light!
Akuma Nii-chan damage: None!

Excorcist Damage: Questionable? Poisoned!

You lunge at the girl, with intent to finish this in the here and now.
Her words whisper across this snow land,"Innocence... Hydra of the Second.... The Second.."
You see the crackle of energy about her and turn your lunge into a strafe along her side once more to flank her.. A tinge of fear scrapes across your mind before being blotted out by the Malicious gears that turn within you.
You see that the golden aura fades, and that this new one of hers is yet unstable...

Your gears turn and you lunge into the girl, going straight for her throat.

You feel your teeth beginning to rot away by this new aura of hers, yet you carry on and bite through as the remainder blasts away and you are left with the bitch bleeding out from her neck and struggling within your teeth.

You twist suddenly with her in your jaws and feel a very distinct and almost familiar pop. Her body goes limp, yet her face moves and cries.

You hear the mechanical sound of your kin's bow go off and three bolts protrude from the exorcist's corpse. More poison for the girl...

You toss her to the ground and out of your maws, pulling back the machinery into a twisted smile. The Skeletal-face in the middle of your demon-head begins to distort and take on the form of Jacob's own face. You speak from that very mouth as you loom over her, "You taste almost as good as my bread, little exorcisssst.." Her face goes blank as more tears leak out of her eyes, the aura from her bangles recedes.

You sink your teeth into her head and devour her, tearing her apart face first and leaving nothing but the wrists and hands that hold the bangles.

You feel... so much... power...

>exp gain 600!

Your "nii-san" also seems to be having his own flux of power...

Retroact... I'm awarding Bonus points for the chance of cinematic gloating over the corpse.. the girl was sufficiently broken... Though you could've done better...

200 extra exp. I recall the total is now 850?

>>
>>25330773
I still don't understand why the other Akuma is our "nii-san".

>>25330948
We could also get that custom flaming poison I mentionned ealier in the thread by combining poison and fire. It would fit the image we tried to give ourself last thread.
>>
New Abilities: Cost 200 exp

>Flame Magic(1) Generates flame from thin air. Weak while its raining and won't burn wet targets. Will scare most people, however not strong enough to kill.
>Ice Magic(1) Saps heat out of the very air. Won't bother someone that's thickly dressed or do much during a hot day.. However it will indeed slow down a person, possibly putting them to sleep.
>Sonic Roar(1) A loud, resounding ability that could be thrown elsewhere at higher levels. Will scare weak-willed targets.
>Gravity Magic(1) Things are heavy, as is the air.. Human meat-bags don't believe in gravity yet.. but they will understand as they feel the weight upon their bodies, slowing them down and making armor cumbersome.
> Pressure Cannons(1) You acquire cannons that can shoot your blood poison a short distance, they aren't quite long range yet, and it kind of splatters..
> Weapon Acquisition(X) Gain another standard lv 1 weapon.(Axe, blades, Crossbow, Cudgels)
>>
>>25330922
We've got 850 to spend.

Strength, Willpower, Durability, and Agility for 400 exp.

100 exp for Flame magic. So we can build towards getting poison fog/tar powers.

Personality isn't listed in the Pastebin (did you forget about it, Duke? Tut, tut), but if it still costs 50 exp, let's go ahead and get it.

That leaves 300 exp for the goodies.
>>
>>25330773
Idea! So. With all this talk about different and exciting ways to use our blood oil, why not upgrade the thing that makes it first?

We're a baker, and we've have more than enough experience with our oven. Let's turn our dark matter heart, into a dark matter FURNACE! This will make it easier to pave the way for the other upgrades we've been scheming up. I'd rather make a big investment now, then go for all the other goodies.

>>

200 for fangs
>>
>>25331064
Alright then.

Strength, Durability, Willpower, and Agility for 500 exp.

Fangs for 200 exp.

Let's save that extra 150 exp to get Fire Magic later on. If the thread continues on for a bit longer, we might just be able to get that extra 50 exp.

Im imagining us with rotating jaws. As the jaws rotate, it generates friction. Then we spew our oil out of our mouth, setting it alight.

Guys last we heard it was exorcists. They probably split up to search and she was the rookie. We should get back to our shop for now. Skipping town would make things too obvious and now we really need to lie low so the team of actual well trained exorcists hopefully won't find and kill us.
>>
>>25331604
He is stupid enough to manipulate and his ranged abilities are usable. However his stupidity may be a downfall as he is undoubtedly unable to control the rate at which he slaughters and just attract more attention.

>>
>>25331705
They *probably* weren't just assistants. This exorcist was plainly enough of a rookie to not understand the limitations of her own Innocence, and I doubt the Order would just be sending rank newbies around without someone able to save their dumb asses and/or collect their Innocence in case of terminal failure.
>>
>>25331937
Wasn't Kanda alone in his mission (accompanied only by assistants) until Allen was sent in to assist?
>>
You feel change coming about you... Your gears and gyros feel so much more oiled... so... well lubricated... Your body moves like the fluffiest of dough... And you feel stronger... your hydraulics converting to accommodate enhanced pressures, greater loads...

And suddenly... Your mind is sharper... You haven't the faintest clue exactly why you had decided to take on that exorcist... she had been alone... Yet...

Oh no... The rumors had claimed more than one... how many did you hear? Your mind whirs and buzzes trying to remember and you simply can't. They wouldn't be out here in this forest alone.

"Hey. you, little brother, we need to get out of here. Now."

The Other demon's eyes regard you, a little more thought behind them now," What... is it? We... Killed her... Right?"

You shake your head beak and forth, your old set of teeth falling out and new ones replacing them suddenly," Oh, by the Noah... that was strange.. But hey, look. If we stay, the other exorcists will come. I heard of others. This girl has friends. She was kind of shitty, honestly. I expected more. Let's piss off before they find us!"

The other wolf-form demon regards the dead and decaying hands calmly," Then... We... Go... I.. Will find... new home... Kill from there.. Howl... if you need... me... I am... Fast..." The other Demon rightly darts off with wind blowing away the snow in his wake.

You give the bangles one last look, leaning in with your fangs to touch them, to try to take them with... The pure innocence erodes your fangs instantly upon contact and sends unbearable pain through your circuitry.

What a vile substance...

You dart off in turn, using your newfound speed to make it back to the fields within the evening.

To be totally fair, the Akuma and Exorcists face a case of a need to flair the dramatic. They are both "as strong as they need to be" to ensure maximum potential suffering. Seriously, "The Whale" would be quite entertained by this setting if you catch what I'm referencing...
>>
Oh, and some general information about the town...

The northwest of the Town is the Lord's Manor that sits within the city-walls and is under heavy guard all hours of the day. Around there are a few noble residences and into the center of the town more trade and commerce, that's where the bakery is. South east are the slums that have been mostly cleansed of the outright homeless. In part, the work has made it slightly more agreeable to the noble residences as the slums were only made worse by the braggarts and the beggars that infested that part. Most of them paid taxes, others at least avoided being caught.

Outside of the Castle-town are seven farms, one of which is Jacob's family's. Many people from town are employed at the farms and thus the gate is often open early in the morning, yet closes at night to all except for the rich. Those employed at the farms often come back before sunset...

>>
>>25332196
We could haunt the farms to find a farmhand who didn't make it in time to the gate.
>>
>>25332214
I just checked our stat sheet again; it says we can chew through Innocence. Does that mean we're capable of destroying them or that we're able to pierce through defenses bestowed by Innocence, like that girl Exorcist's "first labor"?
>>
So what's the current consensus anyway?

Hunt the streets has 1 vote
Checking on the bakery has 3
Going home has 3
Haunting the farms has 1

We need a tie-breaker.
>>
>>25332247

Not enough willpower to mess with it yet. Also still just a LV1. Shit burns bad.

>>25332284

It means that if you gain another point of willpower you can begin chewing through defenses such as a weapon or something else tangible. The Girl's defense in particular was more ethereal, you would've done crushed her windpipe something good though!

Seeing a tie between home and the bakery.

I say bakery. I really wanted to level personality. Remember people, Noah have what amounts to infinite command seals on us. Only way to get them to rescind an order is to convince them to. We can't do that if we don't have a good amount of personality.

>>25332419
Not until we have the personality to convince them we're the real deal. Then yes. Ah, the surprise they'll feel as they embrace us, thinking we're still alive and well. And we hug them as well, only to chomp their limbs off as we gloat in such a sweet and empathic voice "I'm sorry, I cannot help myself. You're so tasty, and I... I'm no longer human. I need to eat you, forgive me, please..."

Oh the suffering, we can inflict so much suffering if we become more self aware!

Why don't we just grab some oven mitts from our bakery and hide the innocence somewhere in the woods?

In the waning hours of day, you slip alongside the castle's wall in your human form, awaiting night to fall...

Once the sky finally darkens, you shift into your metallic wolven form and bound over the wall with a bit of a starting run...

The patroling guard glances back just as you bound down the other side and find a nice quiet spot to don your disguise again. You smile at this and return to your one love... your only love.. your bakery...

You notice something odd as you approach the stone-bricked building... First of all, the window is broken, second... There's day old bread missing from the pantry... and you note the sparse crumbs that seem to lead back through the window.

A dark pit of loathing appears within you... You... You know who did this...

You buckle down and stare intently at the crumbs... Despite your distinct lack of humanity, this is the one thing that's precious to you... the bundles of bread... the bakery... It's time to kill someone... It's time to take your bread back... By devouring this culprit..

You follow the trail, losing it here and there as the crumbs become more scant, however you soon find yourself within the slums of this town... where the filthy beggars squat in places they shouldn't be, breathing air they shouldn't take and eating bread that they haven't baked... You would do well to send a message with this act... though it may draw unwanted attention...

A smile splits across your face as you slip into the abandoned home, shadows and silence your ally as your mechanical body draws not even breath and your squishy human guise severely softening your machinations.

You come upon the man and find his beard stuffed with crumbs... CRUMBS of all things! How dare he waste your love like that, how dare this begging piece of waste come into the ONE place that you find sanctuary in... No... This will not do...

You watch the man's breath come out visibly in the cold air, right before placing your hands upon the man's throat and gripping him firmly, to cut off his oxygen as he awakens, gasping for air and clawing at your face in the silent struggle... Yet it is too late, he soon loses consciousness... And it's back to your bakery...

- - - - - - - - - - - -

You examined his anatomy and slit a hole right into his trachea with a scoring knife. You note the air going in and out of it as his breathing soon returns.. as he snaps awake, screaming through the gurgling hole, eliciting nothing but the blowing of a bit of air.

You slide the same knife through the man's fingers, the pointed serrated edges ripping through his skin and forcing him to scream once more, the haggard breath escaping through the same hole once more...

You smile as it face looks on at you in horror, "Wanted bread, did you? I'll show you where it comes from..."

You grab the man by his tramp beard and ragged clothes and force the struggling body into the blazing Stone Oven.
You shut the cover and you hear the struggling and the gurgling from within as the flames of your furnace take him... Oh... the sweet pain... Oh the sweet revenge...

The flames have stirred something within you... You feel the dark matter within your heart begin to heat... to begin to... burn... You open your human mouth and find that you have a tongue of flame upon your lips...

With a soft, machined puff of air, it grows and blooms.. Oh yes, this cleansing fire, this purifying fire... it will cleanse the scourge that are the poor of this land!

You begin to laugh, yet the fire grows at this and you quickly calm yourself, for fear of hurting the bakery...

You blow the flame into the oven and quickly purge the stench with this new flame. As soon as its use is over, it vanishes... Yet you will call upon it soon...

- - - - - - - - - - - -

You enter the slums once more, slipping past the city watch and the like... You are a good Akuma, the good Doctor would be proud, oh yes, indeed he would be proud...

You open up your mouth and tap into that reaction within your dark matter heart... A smile splits your face, that same evil, wicked smile that you have flashed many a time before... You feel a greater burning within you... something... out of control... A... Desire...

You blow out the flame, as though you were blowing out your birthday candles and the fire catches... it is weak, though with enough repetitions here and there, it continues to grow, bloom, and spread.

It's beautiful... this is the most beautiful bread you've ever baked... It's... Simply... Beyond the words your mind has tio comprehend... You feel... You feel...

We don't want to get too cluttered with abilities, though. It's better having an ability that can be applied in a variety of ways than having several abilities that all do different things.
>>
>>25334489
I believe we'll be emulating Fenrir n terms of looks.
>>
>>25334513
chainsaw teeth, all the way.
>>
>>25334513
What if we attach a cord to the teeth so we can pull people to us? since we've been mainly close range based so far
>>
>>25334408

Very Pseudo... You just burned a lot of innocent people to death for the crimes of a few.

My thought is that Akuma-chan's world-view is distorted. Aside from bread, the poor people that make end's meet just to get by are the scum of the land and not to be tolerated.

Rich that wage war, pitting those same serfs against each other are the pinnacle of morality. Why should they care if poor people die? Poor people and other commoners are scum. Unless they love bread.
And even so...

Seems you guys at least want personality and fire magic. Am I to assume fangs as well?
>>
Current tally.

Fire Magic has 4 vote
Personality has 3 vote
Poison has 1 vote
Willpower has 3 vote
Fangs has 2 vote
Disguise has 2 vote
>>
>>25334309
How about an ability that allows us to switch between human form and demon form faster and more efficiently?
>>
>>25334547
>>25334563
Fire magic, personality, and willpower are the most popular, currently.

That's 100, 100, and 200 respectively, which leaves us 250 more exp.
>>
>>25334575
Put that under Disguise.
>>
>>25334575

Disguise would be it. Along with adding last consumed as an additional form.
>>
>>25334461
This. Have a nasty, toothy, hollow spike mounted on the end of an extending chain tail.

As a rear-mounted weapon, it's especially well suited to striking people who try to come at us from behind. And, not coincidentally, turning the smugness they feel at "outmaneuvering" us into fear, agony and humiliation. Such is still better than they deserve for interfering with our justice.
>>
>>25334605
Would we lose our original form?
>>
>>25334605
We've just basically become Alex Mercer haven't we?
>>
>>25334489
Unless said exorcist is highly experienced. They're basically ace TSF pilots at that point. Oh yeah, you're good to be sure, but you aren't showing them anything they haven't seen in their worst nightmares.

They dreamed of you last night. They know what you're about to pull. And guess what, they can BEAT you senseless demon! Never, EVER underestimate an Exorcist friend. We are Akuma, exorcist are our own natural enemy for damn good reason. Never forget why that is, if you want us to live that is...
>>
>>25334618
Can we replace the spike with a chainsaw?
>>
>>25334663
ooooooh, there we go, i'll take that with launchable jaws.
>>
Wouldn't drill teeth look better than chainsaw teeth?
>>
>>25334684
Oh wait, nevermind. I just remembered Pride from Fullmetal Alchemist. Chainsaw teeth are totally awesome.
>>
>>25334663
But I like spikes. What if we make it a drill that opens up and has chainsaws in the edges?
>>
>>25334626
>>25334623

No.
Pretty much.

>>25334630
Strong speech Akuma-chan. Strong speech...

>>25334684
Not sure how that would work.

Maintaining the course for next fang level to be chainsaw teeth or launching jaws. Fire magic has been locked in...

Lockin Personality and willpower in as well if there are no objections...

250 exp will be left.
>>
>>25334706
i like you. you just combined my two favorite weapons.
>>
>>25334706
I have no idea what that would even look like, but I like it
>>
>>25334716
So we're getting Personality, Willpower and Flame Magic?
>>
>>25334663
As long as the chainsaw has a hollow frame for purposes of vacuuming up the shredded flesh and bone, sure. It may be more obvious and cost us that delicious "WHAT" moment, but killing power is killing power, and is worth respecting.

Confession time, though, I'm trying to steer us towards weapons that WON'T pigeonhole us into staying Bladewolf-shaped when it's time to gain a level two form.
>>
>>25334716
so how much is the fang upgrade this time? I remember last time was 200, so this time is 300?
>>
>>25334765
Who says we can't keep a tail and a Maw If we go bipedal

Also I think our choices impact that more then our abilities
>>
>>25334765

> Which may very well be soon.
>>
>>25334765
Totally understandable.

>>25334796
Yeah, 300. We can save up the 250 for the next upgrade.

>>25334801
Will getting to Level 3 take us longer?
>>
I'd love to eventually be able to grow fangs out of our arms/legs/torso/everywhere. Let's bite with our whole body! Also I think it'd be cool to have heated fangs, you know, for more grusome mutilation! Heat hurts, and if the wounds we inflict auto-cauterize, we can play for longer before our friends get tired.... (just some ideas for the record-book)
>>
>>25334737
Picture an octopus with chainsaw legs, it shapes these legs into a cone with the point facing away from it, the teeth linking together to hold it steady. Now the cone starts spinning.
That is the chainsaw drill.
>>
>>25334819

Yes, lv 3s take a good deal longer... But just as the power difference between lv 1 and 2 is huge, so is the power difference between 2 and 3... it's very large...

Lv1 Red-shirt Exorcist fodder
Lv2 Capable of killing novice exorcists, and going toe to toe with moderate ones.
Lv3 Can solo groups experienced exorcists.

If I bring LV 4 into this, Exorcist Generals are the only ones that do well against them...
>>
>>25334895
I kinda wanna keep our wolf theme if we're going to call ourselves Fenrir.
>>

Updated abilities.

250 exp left. Shall we upgrade flame again?

Also, a new ability will require an additional 100 exp for each purchase, capping at 500 where the last new ability can be purchased unless something comes up.
>>
>>25334990
I say save the remain 250 for later
>>
>>25334990
So, we upgraded our Personality. We get the option to add or strengthen our Quirks, right?

>>25335013
Yeah, I want to save it too.

A wolf theme fits calling ourselves Fenrir better, sure, but Jaeger is a much better fit for our BURNING JUSTICE, with which we shall smite the unrighteous (by our delectably twisted definitions) and purge the unworthy (again, by our gloriously twisted definitions).
>>
>>25335036
Oh yes, another Jaeger supporter! Excellent!
>>
>>25334990
The description for Personality and Flame Magic didn't really change that much (or at all, for the latter).
>>
>>25335068
Wait, no, never mind. I see it.
>>
>>25334990
Save it.

Sorry about that, I'll fix it real quick... There are a few things that are off. The flame is combat worthy now, mind you.

How many do we get to pick?
>>
>>25335151
I like Wrath it fits in my opinion
>>

JUSTICE QUIRK
WE HAVE THE NEED TO ENACT JUUUUUSTIIIIIICE

And the Wrath quirk fits too.

1 thing from either list. Think of it as 1 point to spend.

[X] Bread making
You can make bread from people, right?

[X] Sadism
Because those hobos need to feel PAIN. For Justice!
>>
>>25335187
If we only get one quirk, though, then go for JUUUUSTIIIIICE
>>
>>25335151
>[X]Strengthen Bread-Making
>[X]Acquire Wrath

Full steam ahead towards punishing all, without distinction. (Except people who genuinely love bread. They're cool. We can keep them.)
>>
>>25335151
I vote for JUSTICE
>>
>>25335187

I'd accept justice actually... though it's the justice of the akuma... As I've plainly laid out
>>25334547
>>
>>25335151
Question, if we end up picking JUSTICE, it's going to be a liberal application of "eye for an eye" whenever we see someone "wrong" another person, right?
>>
>>25335246
IT'S FINE
WHATEVER
JUSTIIIIICE
>>
Huh... I'd think the Akuma would be Lawful/Chaotic Evil, no? How odd...

>>25335256
It could very well be that.
And it could carry on into burning an entire village down for a slight.
They're all evil bastards after all. Especially those exorcists.
>>
>>25335256
Ignore this as it was up just answered. I like the answer by the way, it's the most evil option up there! I'm excited to start burning churches and orphanages.
>>
>>25335280
I believe that we've thoroughly chosen JUSTICE
>>
Just barely caught this coming home from work.

I have yo say, Duke, you make this quest on posting in-character alone. Consider yourself having a fan, my good, spherical, man.
>>
>WRATHFUL JUSTICE ACQUIRED
You gain a sense of calm for enacting out bouts of revenge for one slight or another. In earnest, it pleases you... especially when it coincides with doing the Doctor's good work. . .
>>
>>25335280
I think we're more lawful, I mean we have plenty of good reasons to burn those filthy fucking hobo's right?
>>
And now we shall carry on...
>>
>>25335309
So, wait, was it combined into one quirk? Or can they apply separately as well?
>>
Would someone be a pal and Archive this? I'm setting up the second thread. We're saging! <3

>>25335345
Combined. Throwing in the baker's strengthening too. It'll be intersting as you'll need to strengthen a trait with each personality purchase as well...
>>
>>25335362
Oh, so we're required to strengthen a quirk each time?

So we basically got one new and one strengthened quirk?
>>
>>25335362
I'm on it, my most august lord.

Be sure to link the new thread here!
>>
Question. How many of you would be against killing Jacob's family?
>>
>>25335443
Right now? I'm against it.

Later? Eh. We'll see.
>>
>>25335443
I'm not so much against the act itself, as I'm against the questions it would raise.
>>
>>25335443
I'd be all for it, for the right reasons of course. No need to blow our cover so soon, but if circumstances change I'm sure we can adapt.
>>
>>25335443
I would be quite definitely against doing something so foolishly obvious... until we're ready to move out and discard our Jacob identity, anyways.
>>
>>25335443
If we're planning to leave town? Leave no evidence. If we're planning to stay awhile yet? Don't draw attention with murders easily connected to us.
>>
Against?! NEVER! start with the children...
>>
>>25335443
That depends. What does JUSTICE demand? Did they do anything to prevent Claire's death? Have they done their part eradicating the homeless scum? Do the bake delicious bread? No. I say the parish in blood and flames!
>>
>>25335479
Pah. Sadism is for fools and madmen.

They can die after we've hidden away enough flammables to burn this entire rotten town in one fell swoop. Also after we secure a spare corpse to be "Jacob", in case anyone goes sifting through the ashes for bones.
>>
>>25335443
It would be unjust to let them live, wouldn't it?
>>
>>25335443
I've no qualms about killing them, but for now there is little reason to beyond "They're humans"
>>
>>25335443
So long as we can use them as a cover, I'm against it.
The moment they're no longer useful, they go.
>>
>>25335532
>ashes and bone.
Or we could just eat our victims and let the incinerator forming in our chest deal with the remains (no evidence).
>>
>>25335577

There we are.
>>
>>25335544
>"They're humans"
Ah, so that's why their continuing existence offends our sense of Justice.
