151 KB Sororitas Quest 2: The Oncoming Storm X His Divine Power 11/12/10(Fri)03:13 No.12768411
You send the report through the vox bead, the sisters receiving the report through their helmets and their armor speakers. most of them move back holding onto something in the room, or a doorway. The two Canonesses and Living Saint ignore you, however.

You attempt to reverse gravity, one hand clutching at a window sill as everything slowly begins to rise into the air. It's a lot of work, but you successfully disrupt everything in the room.

The Lord of Change screeches in alarm, his taloned hands clutching at the ornate architecture of the ceiling. There is no way you could take a shot at him while focusing.

However, you don't have to. Evangela noticed the daemon and flew toward him at amazing speed. He flapped his wings, trying to escape but the living saint already had momentum. She crashed into him mid air, slamming him against the ceiling, her chainsword cutting off one of his wings. The two floated through the air, fighting viciously, the daemon casting the occasional spell.

Anyways, we need, among other things, to restore gravity. Assuming of course that the disk mounted cultists appear to have drifted away from their disks.
Afterwards, get a report from the medi skull as to the condition of filigree, we should probably get the medi skull back to injured twin as soon as we can, no need to needlessly atagonise the other twin after all.

Wrestling with the eldritch powers coursing through me, I manage to dsicern the figures of the cultists floating away from their disks. Grinning slightly to myself, I release the pent up energies, hopefully without killing myself in the process.

    >Assuming we survive this and there are no complications

I send a quick thought to the medi skull, requesting information as to filigree's condition, before opening fire on any cultists who survived the fall.

I try to keep my grip around a pillar firm- even though I've embraced the thing quite tightly, I can still feel my feet slipping out from underneath me and being drawn upwards. Right, time to end this foolishness- gritting my teeth with effort, I bark once into my comm beads "RIIGHT, GRAAVITY COMMMMES BACK, NOW!" and brace myself for the release, mentally and physically.

The energies lash back at you as you release them, sending you reeling back into the wall, not to far from Filigree. Momentarily stunned, you felt something hot running down your neck, however you didn't feel any pain.

You were vaguely aware of the cultists raining down from the sky, many of them breaking every bone in their body upon impact with the hard floor.

The daemonette is already on her feet, a huge grin on her face as she clutched at her ribs. The skull had repaired her cuts and bruises though.

It flew over to you, buzzing around your head, switching tools to a cauterizer, bone clamps, and a calcium and protein injector. It occurred to you that you must have cracked your skull on the stone wall.

Your daemonette moved to your side, gingerly picking you up and carrying you over to Verity. You felt a horrible cutting pain through your head as you were picked up, blacking out several times.

The next thing you were aware of was Verity and the servo skull working on your head, as well as a horrible pain shooting through your body.

You attempt to speak but Verity puts one finger to your lips.

"Just shut up for a minute. That was an exceedingly stupid move... But you did probably win it for us."

It occurs to you that more time than you initially thought has passed, the room almost completely cleared of bodies, the Lord of Change nowhere in sight.

"Florencia is one push away from killing you ever since she saw what you did to Filigree."

The daemonette in question spoke up. "The Raptor also bled to death while you were unconcious. We tried to get him to talk but even the lash didn't work. Also, Elizabeth, Sonja, and Tessa are here, as well as Inquisitor Lord Alexander Littner, though the word is Confessor Jeremiah was killed in crossfire.

Filigree held up her hands defensively. "Hey I haven't had one... yet..."

You attempt to sit up, Verity trying to hold you down for a moment, realizing it was pointless, and gingerly helps you into a sitting position. You felt her slip something in your mouth, a cool, bitter fluid filling it. "Now swallow. It's to keep your brain from swelling. You *shouldn't* be on your feet for the next few days, though I imagine keeping you down for the next few hours will be a miracle."

You hear heavy footsteps approaching. You force your eyes to focus and see the Inqusitor Lord standing over you. He crouches down, all smiles. "Recruiting Eldar to our cause. Giving your acolyte a daemonic weapon. Invoking perils of the warp by your own free will. It's been a long time since I have heard of such heresy!" He gives a short laugh. "All for the sake of defending this planet! You may be blamed for this inquisitor, but I must say, you have more balls than I do."

He clapped you painfully on the shoulder. "We get out of this alive, I'll make sure you're remembered as a hero." He took a long drink from a very strong smelling flask. "Ahhh... Now if only that damned exalted Martyr of Yours would get here we could really show chaos some hell. As it stands we've lost almost all of our troops as well as most of our vehicles. Our Titan is still standing though. It's damaged, but we don't have to let the enemy know that."

He smiled as Filigree lit a cigar, starting it for you before gently placing it in your hand.. "Unfortunately, I don't have any idea how I'm supposed to get you out of the hole you've dug. I honestly think you're pretty screwed. As for Florencia... Damn... I really don't want to get on her bad side. That woman scares the hell out of me."

"Yeah. Evangela is fine. She's too much of a stubborn bitch to die." You took a long drag on your cigar. "I should know. Long time ago, she was captured by cultists for a spell and rescued. She was spouting gibberish boarder-lining heresy for about a week when the outpost was attacked. I shot her between the eyes and went to deal with the cultists. The cultists kicked our asses. Long story short, she sprouted wings and saved us all."

As if on cue, Evangela walked up next to him. "Are you talking about me behind my back again Alex? That is impolite, you know." He gave a short laugh and playfully punched her battle-tarnished armor. "Yeah. I'm a regular old bastard."

Evangela's smile was the most sincere you've seen in a long time. She turned to you, her spirits still high. "I never thought I would meet someone as insane as Alex." She gently pressed one armored hand against your chest. "As for you. You should get some rest."

Verity tried to hold you down as you struggled to your feet, one hand on the wall. "Oh no you don't! You're staying here at least until your painkillers kick in!"

You ignore her and limp toward Filigree, her lash nowhere in sight, the purple hue of her skin completely gone, though there was a black, slightly protruding and bumpy ring around her arm where the lashwhip extends from. Its nothing that a simple robe or loose long sleeved shirt wont cover.

She draped that arm around your shoulders, laughing. "You're lucky your okay Quizzy! You made this huge splat on the wall when you hit it! It did leave a pattern through. Looked a little like an ork's face when I first peeled you off. It was really cool." She poked you in the cheek. "Also, all your wearing is a tank top and panties. I had no idea you had an aquila on your ass."

Verity facepalmed and Evangela cleared her throat, making a visible effort to not stare at your underthings. The Inquisitor Lord, however, made no such effort, smiling hugely.

"Savages..." Verity mumbled through her teeth. "Your armor is unsalvageable. At least the power pack and the connecters are. They need to be replaced. You can either have the bonesingers fashion you some armor or you can get a new set of power armor from the armory. The wraithbone armor would probably make you more mobile but it isn't as good as power armor. On top of that I don't think we'd have any designed to fit you personally like your old set was."

Filigree's smile just widened as Verity waved over the bonesinges. "Oh come on now Quizzy. I never said I didn't like it. Hehehe... Also the red Inquisitorial I on your panties is absolutely adora-" You grab her by the ear.

"You don't want to finish that sentence, do you?" Filigree snickered, but didn't say anything else. Probably not wanting to annoy you *too* much.

You release the daemonette as the bonesingers approach you. They look you over, top to bottom, starting to shape new pieces of of wraithbone into a new set or armor for you. The substance itself grew and twisted, shaping itself perfectly to your form.

The Inquisitor Lord rolled his eyes. "You just keep digging your hole deeper, don't you Delessa? I can't help but respect you for your sacrifice though. When this all blows over, I will not directly bring any of this to light. If confronted, however I will not lie."

The bonesingers finish up quickly. Surprisingly, it looks a lot like your old set of power armor, though it is more sleek rather than angular and it didn't have a sash like your old set.

in fact, lets ask her now

Filigree puffed out her cheeks. "But I like you naked..." She walked off to find your other equipment as the bonesingers finished up.

"Casualties are horrible." The Inquisitor Lord looked grim.

The daemonette came back with your weapons, handing them back to you, helping you buckle them on, handing you the synthskin.

Evangela fluffed her wings, stretching one out and smoothing the ruffled feathers. A nervous habit. "The saints will protect us... And if they don't, pray that the ammo holds out." She cracked a weak smile, her eyes falling to the floor. She was just as demoralized as the rest of the troops, though she was trying to hide it.

You gave her a solemn nod, stating you were going to check on the twin, but as you made your way over to her, Tessa intercepted you, practically tackling you. "DELESSA! YOU'RE OKAY!" She looked like she was going to bite your head off. "Thank the emperor! I would have killed you if you didn't make it!"

Sister Sonja and Elizabeth were close behind, both of them looked pleased to see you. "You worried us Inquisitor!" Sonja looked concerned. Elizabeth nodded in agreement. "I suggest staying away from the twins." Her voice still sounded ragged and horrible. "Their weapons were brought back down."

Tybalt barked loudly from across the room. He was on his back, Sister Anna rubbing his belly, the Silver-Winged Angles looking like they wanted to join her, but were too afraid of what the ranting Florencia would do to them if they left.

Tessa piped in, bringing you back to reality. "Have you seen the titan? It's about a mile from the center near the city square! It's spectacular!"

Well... At least her morale was fine...

The chainsword wielding sister, walked up to the window, staring at the giant mech. "I hope Esme gets here soon. I want her to see it." She hasn't lost an ounce of faith.

And by taking the first shot, we likely make it easier for the other sisters, as do you think any of them truly want to take the first shot in this scenario?

The fallen sister intends to break our morale.
We can turn this instead into a means of instilling righteous fury, rather than diminsihing our morale she could instead have helped replenish it. And planting in their heads the idea that the sisters can be saved will just make them start doubting, if and when we are forced to kill some this will likely proove disaterous for morale. Better to establish no chance of saving them, and to instead shoot to kill. We are an inquisitor, we make the tough decisions that no one else wants too, because no one else will.

You turn to see how the other siststers are taking this. The horrified looks on their faces speaks volumes. To the sisters, such a fate is worse than death. It was heresy of the highest order. Treason.

But to be sound in mind and not in body... Death would be a blessing. But to fire upon one you called family not hours before...

You shook off the train of thought. Now was a time for strength, not despair. The actions of the sisters could not be predicted, distraught as they were. They needed to focus.

Specifics of said speech should be thought out. Elements of this could be used, first part mainly >>12792031 I will admit a slight bias in that I had fun coming up with it.
We need to focus their hatred on the fallen sister, as hate is a powerful emotion which can be blinding. In this case a good thing, we do not want them thinking to hard on precisely what they are having to do.
If possible it may be worth taking command rather than having them have to make the concious decision to fire on their sisters, it is easier to follow orders after all, and it may enable us to slightly bypass the guilt by instead redirecting their feelings of guilt into hared towards us for forcing them into doing it. This idea is a bit flimsy I will admit and is most definatly up for contention.
We need to reinforce the idea that killing the sisters is freeing them, and is a release. They are not killing their sisters, instead they are freeing them etc.

    Just some ideas.

I would suggest couching it more along the terms of holding fire and keeping the fallen sister talking so as to stall for time and allow us to mount plans for a suitable defence. Establishing ourselves as someone who appears to be in control of a situation, or at the very least, calm in the face of the horror it appears to be for the sisters, could be useful when the fighting breaks out.

You grit your teeth, turning toward the living saint, keeping your voice low as you ask her if the sisters can be saved.

The living saint swallowed hard. "Is it possible to exorcise anything once in the grips of a daemon?" her voice was low, trembling. "Have we ever even tried? Always we destroy what is tainted... never..."

Filigree was staring at the sister, biting her finger to choke her laughter. From behind she appeared to be just as horrified as the sisters, but you knew better.

Erm, depends who overhears the conversation. I don't think florencia would like it that much. And some of the sisters still don't really like us.

I think that sounding in control rather than desperate would be better in this situation, when even the living saint is struggling, remaining stoic could help if we need to rally people.
That said, I agree that filigree is a good choice for information, after all being a daemon she proabably knows what could banish her and by association, other daemons. And if she does like us and isn't being manipulative, appealng to her may just work.

I do not see today a champion of chaos- instead I see a petulant child, one jealous of her siblings for the attention they receive from their farther!
you've shown that the forces of chaos are too afraid to fight except when they have the overwhelming advantage and can only enjoy themselves if they have absolute control over their opponents and no fear of retribution.
When I look at you, Mirial Sabatheial, I see a sad, lost little girl quaking in armor three times to big for her!
I do not feel hatred, or anger, or fear.
    I feel only pity.
Mirial Sabathiel- you are small time!"

Well that may well piss her off.

    Anon, you are glorious.

I try my best- we might want to save that one until we're in close fighting with her though
    Up to you guys

    No!
    Say it!
And then challenge her to a face off, one on one!
    >> Alpharius 11/15/10(Mon)22:36 No.12813436
    >>12813400
Face off is a bad idea. Unless we get close enough and then happen to activate two vortex grenades that we are holding behind our back...
    >> Anonymous 11/15/10(Mon)22:43 No.12813498
    >>12813436
    That might have potential
    Hmmm
We'd need away to make sure that it stuck to her though
    FETCH THE HOLY MAGNOSOS!

I was thinking more heroic sacrifice, if she never see's them, she can't dodge. We already know that we are not getting out of this alive and will be executed for heresy, so why not die on our own terms trying to kill the BBEG?
    >> Alpharius 11/15/10(Mon)22:47 No.12813546
    >>12813535
Or we could cook them for a few seconds, then throw and pray.

Somehow I don't think Mirial is the bbeg- and I think Delessa enjoys life too much to contemplate a heroic sacrifice
Cooking them for a moment may have potential- I was also thinking of perhaps paralysing her for a second and stuffing one of them down her throat
    >> Alpharius 11/15/10(Mon)22:57 No.12813669
    >>12813605
How would we paralyse her? We have already seen her destroy a building with her mind.
Throwing and praying is probably our best option.

Actually....I have a plan! We still have a servo skull, imperial servants are know for them, we could rig ours with a single vortex grenade, keeping the other as backup, then if we fight her, get it near her somehow, then detonate.
    >> Anonymous 11/15/10(Mon)22:59 No.12813693
I don't know if facing off against the fallen sister is a good idea, but if we do, my general plan would be to spam frag grenades until she's unphased by us throwing stuff at her, and then toss the void sphere at her- aimed so that it breaks directly on her person, like on her chest or something
    >> Anonymous 11/15/10(Mon)23:14 No.12813864
Instead of challenging her to a duel now, just make the speech and see how she reacts
