133 KB Vampire Bride Quest Undead Monstrosity 01/06/10(Wed)13:16 No.7457330
    Previous thread: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/7430848/

A few months ago, you were the girlfriend of a hero, frustrated with his inattention to you and constant focus on fighting evil and determined to do something about it.

A few weeks ago, you were an aspiring sorceress, learning magic in the hopes of becoming a villain and forcing your love to finally focus on you fully.

And now, after being caught by a real villain and having your throat torn out, you are a vampire bride under the power of a great vampire lord. He promptly threw you in the basement of his castle under the charge of his other brides, and mostly ignores you except when you can provide him with a worthwhile diversion. Thus far you have only done so by being tortured for his amusement under the sadistic whip of Adrienne, but his comments have led you to believe that he has something more planned.

You are still gradually attempting to learn magic, using the extensive libraries available in the castle and the advice of Rhiannon, a mute scholarly vampire bride. You have experienced a shocking level of success, schooling yourself in the art of summoning enough to bind several lesser creatures to your will, though the path to power has not been without its errors. What your ultimate objective is, even you don't know anymore.

You have been studying improved summoning techniques in the company of your mimir, a limitlessly arrogant and somewhat rebellious talking skull, when Adrienne comes to retrieve you from the library floor with a cruel smile. "It's your lucky day, girlie. The master is here to watch again."

With no other choice before you, you do as you have in the past and mark your books, then rise without complaint and walk to the torture chamber at Adrienne's heels. Within, your eyes are immediately drawn to your lord- his dark aura dominates the room. It takes you a moment to realize that there is someone else present with whom you are familiar. One of the humans, strapped to a rack and glaring defiantly at your master, is one of your boyfriend's companions. You don't know him that well, but well enough not to be mistaken in something like this.

Once you are well inside the room, your master glances at you expressionlessly. You suspect that he's waiting for you to do something. What do you do?

As you realize who the man on the rack is, your hand flies to your mouth in shock, fingers brushing against the fangs concealed there. You dread where this is going. Surely you can escape it. Just stop being a vampire, tear your fangs from your mouth...

...but you know that won't work. They'll only grow back; Adrienne has torn teeth from you before. You collect yourself and face your master, going to your knees before him. "What do you wish of me?"

He gives a low chuckle. "The same as before, for now. Adrienne tells me your screams only grow sweeter with time." He points to a pair of shackles, implying that you should don them.

    What do you do?

No. You won't do as he says- not and face that again. You've had enough of this. Every single night, with Adrienne laughing as you scream and the blood of innocents in your mouth... it's too much. You spring from your knees with a speed that you could never have matched as a human and swing your arm at the vampire lord's face.

He moves backward liquidly, seemingly without even moving his legs. Your arm lashes out again, and he does the same. With a scream of frustration, you turn and dash for the rack on which the adventurer is held, ripping his bonds apart while he stares in astonishment.

From behind you, you hear your lord give a soft "No." You spin, dreading what he is about to do to you, but immediately see that he was speaking to Adrienne, holding up a hand to prevent her from moving to stop you. He stares at you with a small smile on his face and a look in his eyes like he is watching a particularly fascinating variety of insect.

The hero behind you recovers his wits and begins to dash for the door.

    What do you do?

You briefly consider fleeing with the hero, but decide that he'd be better off if you stop your lord from chasing him- at least for the short time you think you'll be able to manage. As he exits, you move to stand in the doorway, attempting a martial stance and a defiant expression. You find yourself hissing, though you've never done that before; maybe it's another vampire thing.

Neither the master nor his dark-haired bride make a move. After about thirty seconds, Adrienne rubs a hand on her forehead, looking frustrated. "How long are you going to stand like that? You're like an exceptionally aggressive rabbit."

You drop your stance, feeling a little awkward. Upon reflection, if they wanted to get past you it probably wouldn't have posed much of a problem. You can't help but question their motives here. "But... aren't you going to..."

"Obviously not at the moment," she snaps. She sounds slightly resentful. "Now, are you going to get in the rack like a good little toy, or are we going to play a chasing game?"

You wordlessly turn and leave, walking quickly. Enough of going along with her. It seems that the master doesn't really care- the only one forcing you to obey Adrienne is Adrienne herself. You'll go back to your summoning circle and conjure up something to-

-a sharp impact on your back as you ascend the stairs. Adrienne is crouched atop you. "Oh, girl, that was hardly an entertaining chase at all. Come on." She lifts you effortlessly and slams you repeatedly into the wall facefirst, dazing you long enough that you are back in the torture chamber, your legs being strapped into restraints, by the time that you recover enough awareness to react.

    >>7457701
No! Not again! As the other woman is preoccupied with your legs, you lash an arm out and grab her hand, then shove the wrist into one of the shackles and slam it shut. It locks with a click. Adrienne looks at you disdainfully. "Keep this up, and you won't be entertaining enough for me to play with you anymore. You know what happens to my toys when I'm done with them."

You do know. Body after body, thrown into the furnace. You don't care. You twist your body and whip your fangs into her imprisoned wrist while yanking with your arms, using the unnatural strength of your jaw to bite as hard as you can. Her wrist dislocates with a pop, and you can feel the tendons tearing when she pries you off with a shriek.

"You'll pay for that one, little one. You'll be in broken pieces on the floor when I'm done with you." She moves, fast and strong, and you find yourself unable to stop her from getting your other arm shackled, then pinning you in place while she works her wrist free. It looks badly damaged, hand hanging limply from her forearm. She uses her other hand to grasp a scalpel. "Now, sing for our lord."

    >> Undead Monstrosity 01/06/10(Wed)14:22 No.7457918
That is the end of your effective resistance. Though you struggle furiously, clinging to your defiance, Adrienne wrings scream after scream from your lips as she peels the flesh from your face in thin strips. It seems to take an eternity. When she is done, she looks to the master and bows, then leaves without a word.

He walks forward and stands before you. From the smile on his face as you were being tortured, you'd have thought that he was on Adrienne's side, but his words say otherwise. "That was adorable, pet. I look forward to seeing what you do now."

He turns and moves to the humans restrained in the room, who have been watching your torture with a mix of horror at its form and relief that they were not the one being attended to. The vampire lord's arm reaches forth, and one by one their bodies shrivel into dessicated husks. Their heartbeats which so called to you a moment ago are gone- there is no food left in the room to assuage your hunger.

Your master flicks a hand and your bonds snap free, then he is out the door faster than your eyes can follow. The need to feed burns within you- the skin of your face will not be regrow until you have feasted on the blood of a sentient creature. It dominates your mind; there is no way you can focus enough for spellcasting in your current state. Your only concern must be to hunt.

    What do you do?

You know where food is. One way or another, it's upstairs. You move in a blur and find yourself in the castle courtyard. The pulse of heartbeats comes to your ears, and the scent of blood hangs in the air.

The adventurer who escaped has left a clear trail to the main gate. Not clear to anyone else, perhaps, but you can smell the drops which occasionally fell from his wounds as he ran; they are like bright flags guiding you to his current location, presumably within the forest.

Other heartbeats reach your ears as well. The guardhouse you'd seen before, but chosen to avoid- there are a double handful of humans who sleep in there, you recall. You're not certain who they are or why they're kept there, but sweet blood pounds through their veins, should you want it.

Another option occurs to you as well. Your minions. The assassin imp and the sprite both have blood. You're not certain how nourishing it would be, but the taste of the pixie you sucked the life from before was wonderful and exotic; the same might apply to your current minions. Best of all, you have but to will them to you, and they will be forced to your side; the bindings on both of them are very strong and might hold even as you suck them dry.

You go with the quickest option- the guardhouse. Your form flows swiftly through the night until you come to its window; a single candle flickers inside as before. Sleeping forms occupy each bed. The slow, steady beats of their hearts call to you, and you quietly open the door and slip inside.

The forms on the beds vary in size; three seem to be children, four women, and three men. Probably not guards, then. That hardly matters; you hunger and they can sate you. You slip to the bedside of the largest man, whose form is likely to hold the most blood, and sink your fangs into his neck, muffling his cries as he awakens with a hand.

The agony in your face melts away in a wave of euphoria. Life floods your mouth, and you can feel all that is wrong with the world disappearing in an instant in the purity and truth that is feeding. Your sense of time vanishes.

Abruptly, your head is torn free from the man and your form is thrown against the wall of the guardhouse with a crash. The sound startles everyone inside awake, and amid the sudden babble of voices and your fading high you look up to see Rhiannon standing above the man you were devouring, a wrathful expression on her face.

    What do you do?

You stay seated on the floor, feeling tears well up in your eyes as you fight through the haze of confusion and lingering bliss. Why was she so angry? She'd never implied that these people were anything to her- never even mentioned them! You try to project your confusion at her.

Her jaw tightens, but she doesn't move. The humans all around, realizing what's going on, are moving so that they are behind Rhiannon, with the children in the back. The man you were feeding on is gasping and clutching his throat, with one of the women looking distraught over him. You realize that these people are hers, and not to be touched, although you have no idea if she placed that thought in your mind or you concluded it on your own.

A moment later, you realize something else. This is the first time you've ever fed on a human and they've lived through it. You feel a pulse of joy- real joy, not the limitless bliss that comes from feeding. If people can stay alive when you're done with them, you're not nearly as bad of a monster! You try to send your emotions at Rhiannon, but aren't sure if it worked.

Regardless, you find yourself getting up and leaving the building- an obvious use of vampiric powers of control on you, something Rhiannon has not done since the day you began to befriend her. The door closes behind you, and you hear the humans begin to speak to the red-haired vampire in a babble of confused and worried voices.

    What do you do now?

You pause a moment. Rhiannon seemed very angry, but you still need to speak with her- she's the only friend you've got. Still, based on the voices inside, she'll be probably be busy with those people for a few minutes. You might have time to go after the adventurer, and if you don't go now, eventually he'll stop bleeding and you won't be able to track him. Better to move quickly, then come back once you've given him a message.

Trusting in your vampiric speed, you dash off into the forest. The scent of blood draws you along, stirring your hunger, through not enough that you'll lose control. It takes you less than a minute to catch up to the man, although it's obvious that he's been moving as fast as he could- moving through in the dense forest at night, his progress is hardly faster than a casual walk.

You move to stand before him. "Please get my boyfriend and hurry back."

He starts and drops into a combat crouch. His form is much better than yours, but it's ruined by the fact that he's squinting into the forest, obviously barely able to make you out. "Your boyfriend? What? Who are you?"

You don't really want to bother with him much longer; Rhiannon could be leaving at any time. "Ask your companions about it. Good luck in your escape." With that, you're moving back to the castle and waiting for Rhiannon to emerge.
    >> Undead Monstrosity 01/06/10(Wed)15:37 No.7458856
It is nearly twenty minutes before she exits the building. She doesn't look at you as she moves for the passage back underground, strolling along as though she were a human out for a walk. You move to walk beside her. "Rhiannon, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to- Adrienne peeled the skin from my face! I was starving, and they were... I don't want to kill people, you know. Thank you for stopping me."

She doesn't stop moving, but you feel thoughts which aren't yours emerging in your mind, spiced with the red-haired bride's anger. You are responsible for your own actions, and using hunger as an excuse is foolishness. You either let Adrienne torture you every night or are too weak to stop her; leaving you without a convenient source of nourishment is an obvious move on her part that you should have made arrangements for. The people who live in this castle are Rhiannon's, and are not touched because she tears apart any other bride who intends to prey on them- images of dismembered women, each with the pale skin and glassy eyes of a vampire marring their beauty, flash through your mind.

Rhiannon will let this pass once, but never again. You are a vampire now; get used to it and grow strong. Do not speak with her again tonight or she will be displeased.

With that, she vanishes swiftly into the library, leaving you standing once again in the main underground chamber. The flesh of your face hurts dully; it must have only partially regenerated, since you did not drain the man fully. Still, it is tolerable. What will you do?

You decide Rhiannon is right- you need to be able to feed yourself, or you'll never be able to break free of Adrienne's sadistic grip. Since you've been learning summoning, the obvious thing to do is to summon up your... meals. You move to the library and pull out your summoning texts, and spend some time looking through them. You'll either need to bind whatever it is very strongly, or risk its trying to escape instead of letting you feast on it.

After some time looking through options, you grow frustrated and give up. You simply don't know spells of enough complexity to summon anything large and powerful which could feed you well. You'll be stuck with various tiny servants for now, and it would take several of them to sate your hunger- at least five, if you wish to keep them alive afterwards. You can probably develop a stronger binding spell, though; it would come at the expense of time which they would be forced to serve you, but if you're calling them up with intent to eat within the next day or so that hardly matters.

A few hours remain in the night; you could try to summon something, develop the stronger binding mentioned, or do something else. What do you do?

You've had enough of these books for a while. It seems that all your time not consumed by pain and horror is spent on them. You leave the castle and move into the forest, breaking into a run. Your eyes effortlessly pick out the easiest path in spite of the pitch darkness, ears bring to you the sounds of hundreds of nocturnal creatures that you would never have noticed a month past, and you can smell a thousand subtle scents on the wind. Your legs propel you forward with a speed that you doubt the swiftest deer could match. You revel in the sensation of being free, even if it's just for a moment.

Eventually you slow to a stop. There are human villages around here, you know, but no roads lead to or from the castle to give you an indication where they are. Looking for them will likely take some significant effort, either on your part or that of your servants.

Thoughts of the creatures you've summoned bring you back to practical considerations, and you let the pull of your servants' bindings show you where the castle is. You had traveled a remarkable distance for a mere hour or so, you realize upon your return. You could probably run hundreds of miles over the course of a night.

Back in the library, you reference the texts again and again and propose your revised spell to the mimir, who spends the better part of an hour explaining in detail every minor flaw in your design. Annoyed, you proceed to fix each error that you can and attempt to compensate for the ones you can't, working until you feel the sunrise upon you.

    ***

Another night as one of the dead. You can hear the soft sound of rain in the castle above. What will you do?

What you know of vampire lore indicates that they only feed on humanoids. That said, that literature was written from a highly anti-vampire perspective. It also indicated that they are evil in the extreme without exception and should be destroyed whenever found, so you can't imagine they spent much time doing research on the practical aspects of day-to-day vampire life.

You ascend into the castle courtyard, calling your servants to you. The imp and sprite have been gradually locating various herbs over the last few days, relocating some of them to unobtrusive patches in the castle courtyard and marking the location of others in the wilderness. They should be able to mix up most drugs and poisons that you could want in relatively short order by now.

You have a new task for them, though. "You two. I need to know more about the surrounding area. Find all the human villages you can; be able to guide me to them should I ask."

The sprite bows and the imp nods vigorously, so you wave them off. You have other tasks before you. You dash through the wilderness, moving at speeds that make parting the rain before you a constant, lightly forceful sensation. Your vampiric senses make finding an animal trivial- you decide to go right for something large, and quickly run down a deer. As you tear open its throat and begin to suck down its blood, a sensation of glee washes over you. It tastes wonderful, though flavored very differently from human blood. You drain the deer until all you can taste is water, then lie on its corpse letting the rain run over you as the haze of pleasure fade.

When it does, though, you realize that your face still stings. Though it may have tasted good, the blood of an animal can do nothing to heal you.

You think for a moment. What are you doing here? But on the other hand, you know that fleeing will leave you just as you are now, and it wouldn't be much of an existence alone in the wilderness. There is power to be gained in the library here, if you can manage to endure long enough to gain it.

I'm not ready for redemption personally. We can feed on animals, and sentient beings without killing them. Our boyfriend don't care about us, we seem to be able to endure just about anything, so a little hunger or occasional loneliness isn't a problem. And we planned to become a villain anyway.

Now we've got eternal youth, with much less physical limits than before, and power. We should profit.

You consider attempting to have the gods take mercy on you, but Rhiannon's case comes all too quickly to mind. She turned to the gods for salvation, and received only injury.

    >>7460190
You've never heard of someone being resurrected after being turned into any sort of undead creature; all the stories about it seem to end with them being destroyed and the ones who did it being hailed as heroes. You're not exactly a scholar, though.

    >>7460310
    >>7460312
You go looking for Rhiannon, hoping to learn more of her and of the place. She is as easy to find as ever, curled up with a book in a luxurious chair. As you approach, she looks at you levelly; you don't earn the smile that you might have in days past. "I was wondering... Rhiannon... what are you doing here? What is this place, why do you have people living in the courtyard, and why didn't you just tell me not to touch them from the start?"

She gets up and walks to a bookshelf, the only one in the main chamber, and withdraws a tome which you recognize as one in which she makes occasional entries. As she hands it to you, you are struck by sudden understanding that the vampire lord does not allow his spawn to grow close to one another. Rhiannon typically avoids communication for that reason. She had more than half expected you to be gone by now; many of the brides brought here are dead insane dead within days.

.... Could we befriend the bitch that totures us to take her out?
    >> Undead Monstrosity 01/06/10(Wed)17:51 No.7460706
You open the book at the beginning, and quickly recognize that it is in a language you do not know. Almost every page bears a small image of a woman, all beautiful and most in despair. A few contain additional pictures after them, each of the same woman looking much more collected and different- some regal, some feral, some cruel or half-mad. Those pages with only one portrait tend to bear only a few lines of text. It's a record of every vampire bride Rhiannon has known. The eighth volume. She gestures, and you realize that the four bookmarks between the pages are those who still live- four, of over a hundred in this volume alone. It appears that vampire brides are much more disposable than one would think from the name.

Rhiannon takes the book and restores it to its place, then looks at you. You feel her words in your mind again- she is here because she has nowhere else to go. The castle has been her family's for a very long time, and now she and Bryden are the last withered branch of the bloodline. The people in the castle above are remnants of those whose families have served them for generations on end, who stayed with them after the slaughter.

Then she goes back to reading.

You move to the library. There are dozens of tomes that could prove useful to you, should you wish to take them with you when you flee; information on many types of magic, history, geography, and much more. You should consider carefully which if any to take, and if you should flee right now at all.

    What do you do?

It takes a long moment before her answer comes, but when it does, it is positive; she will find the time to put those pages in a language you can understand sometime in the next couple days.

That done, you send her a sense of gratitude and go into the courtyard to call for your minions. It takes them a few minutes to arrive from the forest. "Have you located any human villages so far?"

The assassin imp looks annoyed. "Mistress, it's been a couple hours! Lucky I could locate my own ass in that amount of time, this weather."

The sprite, however, nods. "I am familiar with the location of two enclaves, should you wish to be guided there. Neither contains more than two hundred people."

You decide that you don't particularly want to stick around in the castle and study, since Adrienne will probably come looking for you soon. Instead, you command the sprite to guide you to the nearest of the villages. "As you command, Lady," he says as he starts moving. He cannot move as quickly as you through the brush, but you are fairly certain that you are making much quicker progress than a human as the two of you move along with the imp in tow.

After the better part of an hour, the dense forest begins to grow sparse, then stops abruptly and a large field, filled with half-grown crops, stretches before you. The sprite proceeds forward confidently, so you continue to follow as you pass several small farms and eventually come to a small cluster of buildings dominated by a church.

The large structure gives you a thought. Holy water is anathema to vampires by everything you've read- perhaps you could get a priest to make you some? You move towards the church, thinking to walk in and find the clergyman no doubt within, but as your hand touches the door you find yourself hissing and leaping backwards with unnatural speed. Where your hand touched the doorknob, a large burn now lies; it seems that even the very structure of a holy building will reject you.

Behind you, the assassin imp chuckles. "Business in there, Dark Mistress? I can get rid of the priest for you, if you're worried he might pull somethin'."

After a moment's consideration, you nod to the imp. "Business, but not killing. I need you to steal some holy water and bring it to me."

It looks at you, puzzled. "What? But you're a vampire. It would- oh, right. Plotting inevitable betrayal, how could I forget? Can do, Mistress. Might take a bit if you want it done quietlike; I'll have to find a flask somewhere." With that, the imp flies off through the rain, apparently attempting its infiltration through the church's upper windows.

    >>7461648
You turn to the sprite. "Is there a tavern or other public building here?"

He looks around. "I did not really investigate the town. You only instructed me to locate it, Lady."

"I shall look about myself, then." It does not take long; there are only a few dozen structures in the entire village, and only a handful are lit inside. Of these, only one is fairly sizable and with faint sounds of cheerful voices emerging from inside, even at this late hour. That is likely the best place to find information here.

    What do you do?

You are currently wearing a high-quality but plain black robe, very suitable for comfort during your largely studious existence and easy to remove to avoid its getting bloody in the event that someone wishes to flay your skin off. It is somewhat less suitable for moving through the forest at night or being remotely modest when soaked to the skin. It has acquired some mud, but no damage that you can see, from your recent ventures.

It is cut quite modestly; you chose it from the available clothing partly for that reason. You have enough problems in your life without feeling that you're dressed like a whore. It does not have a hood.

You don't know if you could pass as human. The castle in which you are imprisoned contains no mirrors, and you don't know if they'd work for you even if it did; you've heard conflicting lore on that point. Your skin is extremely pale, but a human out in this rain for any length of time would likely have caught a chill and be pale as well. The rain would likely conceal your hair's dead hue as well. Your eyes... you've never seen your eyes after you died, but those of the vampires you know are immediately identifiable as not belonging to the living, unless perhaps the person in question was blind.

You move closer to the building and peer in through the window. It seems that perhaps fifteen men and ten or so women are seated inside, drinking and laughing around several large tables. Two more young women are speaking to an older man standing behind a bar; presumably they are the staff.

Looking carefully, you do not see many weapons, although a few religious symbols placed on the walls attract your eye- that is quite unusual for a tavern.

Deciding that this village is likely aware of and prepared for the vampires who live nearby, you move away from the window and speak to your sprite. "How far from here is the second village you spoke of?"

He thinks for a moment, then replies. "No more than half an hour, even in this weather. It is much like this one, so far as I could tell."

You pause for a moment and consider. Your imp will complete his task and return to you on his own, and you don't want to risk talking to these people unless they would be unlikely to recognize you for what you are. That would require some sort of illusion magic; surely there are texts on that in the castle library?

With nothing left to do here, you tell the sprite to spend some time spying on this village as well as finding such others as he can, and use your connection to the mimir left in the library to find your way back to the castle. The journey does not take long.

You make your way downstairs, dripping wet, and change into a fresh robe before asking Rhiannon if there are any books on illusion and disguise in the library. She mentally provides you with a few locations in which to start looking.

As you thank her and turn to go investigate them, you realize that Adrienne has left to go looking for you. The thought sends a shiver down your spine, and it only grows worse when you realize that it was a telepathic tip from Rhiannon.

    What do you do?

Okay, that might have been a poor place to leave it, as it was basically "do you want to change your action?" No wonder there's little player response. My bad. Continuing.

    ***
You shake off your trepidation at the thought that Adrienne has departed on a wild goose chase, and move to undertake your planned research in the library. You locate a beginner's text on the foundations of illusions without much difficulty, but after about an hour it seems clear to you that it will take at least a week of study to perfect a disguise spell that you can hold for more than a handful of minutes. You simply don't have much knowledge to work off of.

Nevertheless, you bend your mind to the task, and the the hours pass you begin to get a sense for the specific topics that you'll need to make sure you have down when constructing the spell- a small but necessary first step.

As you begin to feel that sunrise will be soon, you hear the door to the stairs in the main chamber open and close. That must be Adrienne. You mark your place and put the book you were working on away.

You reach the entrance to the library to find her standing there, dripping wet and looking almost angry enough to make up for that indignity. "You have behaved quite badly today, you worthless toy. Forcing me to spend hours looking for you in this weather? There might not be much time left before sunrise, but I think you'll spend it screaming."

Defiantly, you fling yourself forward with the intention of using all your unnatural strength to beat Adrienne's wretched face in, but she is ready. As you close to within striking range, she twists somehow and you feel a sharp blow on your chest that sends you smashing into the ceiling before falling heavily onto the ground.

Still, you're not that easy to dispose of. You begin to pull yourself to your feet, hoping that you'll be able to recover before she can take advantage of your injury, when you realize something very important.

There is no fighting allowed in the library.

You push yourself to your feet, and you and Adrienne both walk calmly out into the main chamber. Rhiannon is glaring at both of you. Then you can move again. Adrienne immediately hisses at Rhiannon, an expression of fury on her face. It seems that she resents being controlled in that fashion; who'd have guessed?

Regardless, you have a momentary advantage to seize here, should you choose to attack. Less than half an hour remains before sunrise. What do you do?

Adrienne seems occupied for the moment with Rhiannon, but you're not going to attack her physically again; she's demonstrated the pointlessness of that often enough. On the other hand, you can at least make fun of her. "Well, Adrienne, you did say yesterday that I gave you a poor chase, so I improved my chances. I must say that it's quite a compliment to find that such a terrifying monster of the night has reduced itself to my shadow."

She turns her expression to you, her angered face darkening even further, but you're not done just yet. You offer her as bright a smile as you can manage. She gives a shriek of fury and leaps for you, moving at a speed that would have caught you entirely off guard as a human. You are not human any longer, however, and manage to get your arms up to block her- claws!? When did she get those? The flesh of your arms is shredded as she flails at you, technique lost in fury. You struggle to protect yourself as she rips into you for minutes on end, gradually tearing chunks of flesh from your limbs and torso.

It is painful, and you are growing ever more hungry as your unholy energies cry out for blood to replace what they have lost, but it is incredibly satisfying. You are doing much better than in the past, and although you are losing the fight, you know that you are in control here- Adrienne is dancing to your tune.

Eventually, you know that it is after sunrise. Exhaustion takes your muscles, and apparently your opponent's as well, as she stops shrieking and tearing at you. With a final glare, she retreats to her sarcophagus, and as you enter your own your face bears a broad smile.
