The sun traces its arc towards the horizon as you ponder the strange statue/sculpture in your hands. It appears to have 12 sides most of the time, though occasionally as few as 10 or as many as...you're not really sure.
"I don't get it," your blood says. "What's it supposed to be?"

You are Subject 82, originally Helen Tanner, and you have no idea. You escaped several days ago from a government-funded research facility in South Florida.
You possess mild powers of precognition, and a sentient blood with vaguely-defined aggressive capabilities and the need to occasionally feed on flesh.
After escaping you gathered supplies for a while in Miami. You were contacted earlier today by another escapee, subject 54, a man with control over machinery and electronics. There are two other escapees; 88 and 13.
You convinced him to head back into town to "rescue" 13, a small girl. You found, however, that she was in no need of rescue.
Her mind had become host to some unfathomable intelligence that destabilized reality merely by being real. In a bold move, you attacked 13, hoping to destroy the entity's physical connection to the world.
For some reason, perhaps as a reaction to your attack, which destroyed the upper half of 13's body, you've been transported, along with several pieces of Miami, to a farm somewhere outside Scott City, Kansas.
This farm turned out to be the childhood home of 13, real name Eloise Westchester. Her parents are victims of a murder-suicide; you buried tyhem earlier. You found the strange statue in the basement of the farmhouse shortly before becoming struck with a panic attack and clawing your way out here.

It is made of a dark metal that is cold to the touch. The edges of the sides, when not shifting, are incredibly fine, almost sharp, and the corners are very pointy.
It is covered in dulls etchings of foreign symbols.
(someone asked last night and I don't think I ever answered: the symbols here do not resemble those your blood traces)

I forget if we recovered the night vision goggles. If we did, have a peek into the basement (FROM THE OUTSIDE) to make sure nothing is going to rush us when we turn our backs.

Assuming we see nothing, try to proceed to the spot depicted in 13's drawing.

If it's small enough to pocket, then go find a handkerchief or something similar to wrap it in, and pocket it.
Search the farm for firearms, preferably concealable ones like handguns.

You're clutching the goggles in your hand. Raising them to your face, you peer cautiously down the stairs into the basement.
The dirt floor and wooden stairs look back at you dully. It seems you were just having a panic attack, though you examine the statue in your other hand to see if there's anything exceptionally terror-inspiring about it.
It's a weird statue, but you are not immediately stricken with fear.
Walking out towards the field, you gaze at 13's crayon drawing. Between the black figure and the black-lined cloud overhead, it's definitely got a creepy tone to it. You wish 13 had kept a diary instead of doodling.

You wander among the cornstalks for several minutes. They're starting to become overgrown, the Westchesters having been apparently dead for some time. You find no tall, gaunt men, and you see no strange clouds in the sky. Whatever took 13, it isn't here, at least not at the moment.

I think it's time for an inventory update:
    -around 200 dollars
    -butterfly knife
    -.38 snub-nose revolver, 4 bullets
    -.45 revolver, 4 bullets
    -20-gauge shotgun, 2 shells.
-2 days of food, mostly crackers and beef jerky
    -a flashlight
    -night vision goggles
    -a child's drawing
    -Peter Westchester's suicide note
-a change of clothes (red blouse, jeans, plaid suit jacket.)
Currently wearing: Dark jeans, black tank top.

Anything else (other clothes, your shovel, cell phone, etc.) must have been either abandoned in the sewers or lost when you were transported here.

You make your way back to the farmhouse, sitting down on the front step. Your blood hums to itself, creating strange vibrations along your veins. You watch the sun sink, cautiously and patiently. You check your guns several times.

Finally, things seem to be getting really dim, save for the thick band of fiery orange in the west. You strap the night-vision to your head (but leave the goggles themselves flipped up for now). Slowly you make your way into the rustling corn, a shiver going up your spine now and then as a sudden breeze creates rustling behind your back.

(how do you do this EVERY TIME)

    SPOT check: FAILURE
You're parting a series of corn stalks to peer into the row when you feel a wet, chill touch down your back. You quickly turn around, snapping the goggles down and turning them on.
In the monochrome of the goggles, you can see what appears to be a blurry spot in the air, directly in front of your face. You stumble backwards through the corn, feeling the touch leave your skin.
The amorphous entity must have descended from the sky while you were exploring the corn field. It seems to be made of just a visual distortion in the air, though occasionally parts of it will coalesce into foggy vapor, in which you can see the ephemeral and haunting forms of mouths, eyes and hands, formed and dissolved within seconds.

(you guys haven't been hammered NEARLY enough for rolling a 2.)
You begin extruding your blood, preparing a whip for each hand. The entity you face, however, has no concept of a fair fight, and moves forward abruptly. You bring your arm up to strike it, but the cloud is upon you.

You feel the same monolithic interposing of a foreign ego on your own that you felt under the attentions of 13. You struggle weakly. In the back on your mind, you can feel the statue wriggling in your pocket, as though alive.
The mental struggle brings you to your knees, eyes wide in agony. You feel the caress of ghostly hands, the licking attentions of phantom tongues, and the scraping of fingernails on your skin as the pseudo-physical being envelops you.

Garfield surges out of your various bruises and scabs, covering your body with a painful, seething armor.
The entity retreats slightly, and you find yourself with room to think. You back away from it, lashing out with a whip. It passes through it, causing no obvious damage, though it does seem to upset the creature, which floats away from you cautiously, as though surprised at this turn of events.

"Walters, stay here with the girl," he says, and turns the flashlight on the field, moving away with the others.

"I was out here hunting," you heft the 20-gauge, hoping they don't check you for extra ammunition. "When I saw something strange in the corn field...like a heat shimmer. I was going to investigate when y'all showed up, and I came over here to see what was going on."
Walters writes for several seconds. "Uh....huh...."he says, looking at the paper.

Apparently there were several more escapes from Arkham Research. Miami-Dade county has been declared in a state of emergy, "until the military can bring the continued anomaly under control."

It's been quite some time. You examine yourself in the bathroom mirror.
The swelling on the side of your face has gone down. You hair is matted to your head in place, a fairly messy cut and dye job. The tooth you used to replace your own is getting a little loose. Dark circles cluster around your eyes. Frankly, you're surprised that Arkham has bought your story thus far.
Leaving the bathroom, you help yourself to some beef jerky and mixed nuts as well as a bottle of water. You look at the sleeping clerk.
"You know, so far I've really only been eating people that deserved it," Garfield says. "I think I can last until we find...I don't know, a dog or something..."

Save him for what? Once he figures out who 82 is, he won't want to be friends.

Well, if we save them and they just want to dissect us afterward, we won't wonder about joining them anymore.

You cautiously move to the gas station door.
The rear van has been peeled like a grape. Bits of charred bone, flesh, metal, and rubber are strewn across the parking lot. Walters, Superior McSuspiciousFace, and Coolbro Broglassesbro have exited the front van and are firing on the entity, with little results.
The entity itself is shimmering its way through the rubble of the van, slavering spectral tongues tasting at the scorched metal and withered, grotesque hands piecing through the broken bits, looking for the hedron.

Jump in and try to locate the object before the entity does.

We were stupid to let it go before. This might be our only chance to get it back.

"USE THE SPECIAL GUNS! LIKE YOU DID BEFORE!"
Run towards Walter. In case he has the hedron, do not get too close.

    Also, wtf is that thing?
    Examine it (from a distance).
    Misty blob of semi-human-looking-ness?
    wtfits?

Is van still functioning? Like, can it go forward faster than a walking person?

(Shit, how long do you guys go? It's 1AM here I am passing out)

It was in the other van. Might try circling around to the back of the busted open van and look for anti-entity weapon of something.
