Cheers erupted from the gunnery crews as their shells flew forward, blasting the innards of the massive bug, it's shell buckling with the shockwaves of the explosions, blood pouring out of it's flanks as more cannons blasted the damned creature to hell.

Cheers erupted once more, but suddenly grew silent as the massive carcass shook as what looked like a giant plant growth sprouted from it's carcass.

Just what the hell was it?

In its dying throes the beast howls in anguish as a voice comes through from the depths of its mind. A warning- a goodbye.

All the soldiers had felt it that day- that the final message of such a great monster had left them gift of life.

The kruss hunted and consumed the Xenos, the Xenos did the same. In this manner they were in a state of equilibrium, and it was - for a time. The natural way things.

But now, man emerges from their hideaways- ready to step out into the black again. With the capture of the Heidegger Heavy Industries , space travel- and global reclamation was but a few seasons away.

What uncertainties awaited the Kruss in their neighboring planets-

and what of the forces that left them behind and are now coming back with all the dishonor and shame that they brought with them...?

While his men cheered and celebrated their victory, Polaski could only brood on the days revelations. The Federation still lived it seemed. They had somehow managed to not only survive the xeno onslaught that had decimated Kruss, but thrive. The weapons the federation dogs had brought with them were unlike anything Polaski had ever seen. He was uncertain how they would have faired had more than a handful of the dogs assailed them.

A more pressing worry however was the giant xeno they had just killed. Even as the thing died it had sprouted into a plant. He had never seen such a thing before and had no idea how it could have happened. Polaski didn't like it. Nothing the bugs ever did was good for Kruss. This plant would only continue the pattern, he was sure. That was a matter for the Death Marshal though, Polaski had other concerns.

“What is standing around for!” Polaski shouted, quieting his men, “Be securing factory perimeter! Will axe all faces if bug be harming factory!” The soldiers scrambled to do as he ordered, the majority securing the perimeter with tanks and bodies. While the rest began construction of more permanent fortifications. “You two!” Polaski said catching two men by the backs of their collars, “Comrade Zeph was requesting life size snowman being built in her likeness.
