Tell the Mizukage: "The Seven Swordsmen are ready to show the world again why they should fear shadows in the mist."

I don't know if we should also say "I will bring my team back alive."

I believe that's implied, since she expects your success.

Anyway, should we do a grand melee, or should we just get the fluff outta the way so when I come back from work we can get right to the fighting against the Kinkaku Force?

And send a fairwell note to our friend, Gen. Oh! And how did he like doing all that seal-crafting for the rest of the Swordsmen?

    >> OP 09/26/11(Mon)16:45 No.16434088
With all haste you and your Swordsmen depart under cover of night on a small barge with no motor. The entire time you and Yuki are focusing to dampen your team's chakra to slip past the sensors that may be scanning. You presume your success as it takes almost an hour to get across the sea and start moving. You take your time and move efficiently and slowly towards the camp's location. You come upon a huge ridge over-looking the depressed mining area and camp. A large number of explosions, wreckage, fallen trees, all manner of obstacles litter the landscape. A single bunkhouse rests in the middle of the area. Yuki continues suppressing your chakra and asks, "Captain, when do you want to strike? We can do so under cover of night or with morning's light."

Gen responds to your note with his usual tactiturn answer, "Don't lose those swords. Don't wreck the seals. Don't come home dead." Well, maybe less taciturn, he seems to be warming up to you.

At dawns first light I want that mist rolling in like Har, at the same time we should prep one location near our boat as a fall back position just in case. So our objectives are what? Lure out the Kinkaku force but aside from that? I want that mine closed to them and I want genin dead.
    >> Anonymous 09/26/11(Mon)16:51 No.16434127
Okay, here's a skill point distribution I came up with.
There's still 2 skill points left unallocated, as I couldn't decide where to put them. I made each person max out their specialty, and get a bit of training in support stuff to aid in the team technique.

Blow the mine, kill and terrify some genin, and be ready to face the Kinkaku Force when they arrive.

Should we kill all the genin, or make sure that some escape so that they can alert the Kinkaku Force? Or do you think our chakra activating will be enough to get them to respond?

We still need decide what perks to have. Mostly I think they will be the 'Seven Mists' for our murdering.

Also, I think this really exemplifies why we may need a higher cap.

    >>16434125
I agree we should come in like the mist rolling down the hills. But we shouldn’t kill the kids. We should focus on capturing any powerful nin for brainwashing or dissection and leaving the other’s incapable of fighting – removing legs, arms, eyes. Thinks that will require deep sinks of money to support them, but won’t inspire the fury that the dead will. Also, having mutilated ninja will be horrible for moral.

We may as well leave a few of the little bastards alive. No reason I can think of that killing them wouldn't change anything in the long run. So we leave a heavily scarred genin survive and rise through the ranks.

And then in 20 years, s/he is a kinkaku bad ass with a grudge.

    Eh. I'll risk it.

Yeah, the actual mission is to disrupt their training camp.

Morning's light has broken for less than ten minutes before the mist rolls in. The first casualty is the watchman who yawns and never breathes out as Gendo slices his throat wide open and drops him. Body after body hits the floor as the Genin meekly throw shuriken before turning tail and running. Your job is obvious, you kill all of them that you can and start breaking the camp. You allow messengers to escape.

It takes about fifteen minutes, but in short order Yuki calls out, "Incoming! Tetsuo?" She asks and the man puts his hands together, "There's.....around twenty to thirty of them, I think we've got them!" A hailstorm of kunai and shuirken fly over the ridge and you all ready yourselves to parry before Yuki slides in front of everyone, "They have tags! Wind Style: Blasting Pressure Cannon!" With a huge exhalation the kunai are scattered away from you all and blow up harmlessly away from you. When the smoke clears there are twenty five men and women with the signature cloaks on and five ANBU agents standing by. "What the hell is the meaning of this?" A tall woman with a huge spear demands, "What the hell do you think you're doing? Do you want to die?" She challenges.
    >> Anonymous 09/26/11(Mon)17:04 No.16434257
Also I think not all of the members of the seven swords should immediately attack. Let the enemy think it's a smaller force attacking and then the members that are still hidden can ambush once we engage the forces sent after us.

Depends on how advanced their ninja medicine is, it wouldn't surprise me to find out they can graft on arms and legs. Then again maybe we should aim to remove the right arm, left leg and a random ear from each of them?
    >> OP 09/26/11(Mon)17:07 No.16434282
The ANBU agents fan out to the sides of the Kinkaku force, kneeling down and readying their hands for making seals, under their cloaks so you can't tell what type of jutsu they're performing, and can't sense their chakra.

The majority of the Kinkaku Force stays condensed in five ranks of five, with the exception of the middle column that the leader is standing out from.

By the way, I was just considering something that's not immediately relevant. If we ever get a summoning contract (which we probably want to), I'm thinking that it should a predator that either can stalk around in the mist and tear people apart (big cats), or something that can swoop in from the sky at fuckoff speeds (raptors). Cats would fit with our murder-mist thing quite nicely. Raptors, once we can summon the unnaturally large ones, could give us some nice mobility options that not many ninja have.

By raptors, it should be clear that I mean more modern birds of prey, and not stuff like velociraptors, deinonychus, or utahraptors. Though if there's a summon contract for those, I would totally be up for that.

The Cloud-nin are braced for your charge but as one you all throw up your right arms and as one mist almost explodes from you, shrouding the entire valley in mist. Now ready for action, Tetsuo stomps down hard and aims his sword forward, lunging forward at ludicrous speed, the blade in his hand blasting like a light grenade as the sound of a pained gasp fills the air, first blood to the Swordsmen.

Yuki chooses to hop from foot to foot, her fingers up and her eyes closed, doing her best to sense through the mist and guage the enemy's actions, delaying for now.

Mangetsu makes a string of rapid hand-signs before turning into a water dragon and coursing after the explosion of light, colliding with a shinobi and turning back into his normal form, teeth bared and strong hands reaching for a neck to snap.

Saito slips into the earth and begins traveling forward, appearing behind the enemy shinobi with great care, as he learned, ready for your attack.

No one seems capable of actually saying whether to use 3 Determination, 4 Determination, or none.

Use 3 Determination, put them into Injured and do the damage. The enemy, being Jonin, all have a good chance at surviving a Difficult Taijutsu test, and so it would waste the extra point of Determination.

Waraji decides to charge in, on foot, and gets up close to an enemy, taking a swing and landing a good hit to the shoulder, but nothing too serious.

Immediately four of the Kinkaku shinobi jump over your heads and land behind you, all of them making a seal as they strike the ground, "Chakra Vortex Seal, Release!" The seal appears beneath Gendo, Tetsuo, and Waraji. With a flash of white light they all cry out in pain as they feel their inner reserves of strength being drained away.

However, two of the shinobi don't get to maintain the hold as Yuki suddenly is between them, her blades rammed through their necks as she tosses the bodies aside, the seal breaking, "Don't get flanked! I told you all that!" She barks out.

The ANBU agents suddenly vanish both from sight and chakra sense, slipping away from their group, presumably, but to go who knows where. Out of the twenty five members five are already dead, the other twenty now scatter in all directions, now that you have charged, to try and get around your men, their hands working quickly to get a massive sealing jutsu up. At the moment, however, half of them throw more kunai and shuriken to try and force you all to defend.

Most of the blades are evaded, but those that do hit interrupt the ritual enough to delay it, and that's all you need, to keep pieces of the machine from not working.

Waraji calms down and calls out in your heads, "They're going to be moving between us to force our focus inwards, the ANBU that is. We need to get out of this ring." He informs you coldly as he throws a kunai hard at a man in the ring around you guys and pierces his arm with a lucky strike.

As soon as Tetsuo moves close to strike again, however, a massive cloud of smoke bursts and a bull the size of a small house appears and catches the Jonin in his horns, throwing him into the ravine wall with a crunch. Tetuso groans in pain and grips his head as he sits there.

Yuki, seeing Tetsuo in harm, rushes over to him, slipping past the bull with ease as she kneels beside him and starts to repair his wounds, "Tetsuo...get up, come on!" She says worriedly.

Mangetsu reforms close to Tetsuo, picking up his blade as he lunges at the bull, grabbing one of its horns as he begins stabbing the creature all over the head, the bull's swinging of its head and horns making it hard to keep on, but when Mangetsu gets bucked off he simply drops to the ground as water and slithers back up.

Saito releases his exploding tags, killing the five ninja inside his dome before he grabs steel wire, a kunai, and a scroll, tying the kunai and the wire together he hurls it at the bull and then unrolls the scroll, the word "Lightning" prominently displayed on it.

    3 vs 7 you.
Your blade finds the neck of an injured man and separates him from his body. You feel the chakra in your body respond to the blood, loving how it feels to be a brutal killer. Your clones, meanwhile, push outwards, fighting hard, but as soon as they get into melee range they're killed by pin-point accuracy needles through the eye, popping all the clones as the ANBU inevitably do their work.

Waraji keeps his focus up and goes into hand to hand with the Kinkaku Captain, her spear thrusting at him as he parries it short with his sword and delivers a quick taijutsu kick to her chest, knocking her down. The ritual again loses power.

From all sides beneath him emerge seven huge crocodiles which all make a mad-rush for the Captain, their jaws snapping as she stabs one, making it vanish, but then has her spear caught by another, snapped by a third, and then is bowled over by the tail and mass of the other two, the last two waiting in the wings, unable to crowd in close to her.

Finally, you sense something, it's faint, but you detect an ANBU about six inches from your right. He takes a swing down at you, you hear the air whistling from the speed of his stroke, your eyes close, you try to fight with just your chakra sense, sound, and the calm you feel from Waraji.

5 you vs 2 us is no good. Let's do that 12+2 damage!

The Kinkaku Captain struggles against the crocodiles, drawing her kunai, but these crocodiles have been trained to fight shinobi, and they bite down on the ring of the kunai and roll, their immense strength and weight ripping it from her hand as one of them laughs and speaks in a deep accent, "S'gonna be a bad day for you, little girl." He bares his teeth and bites her leg, teeth sinking deep into her as he chuckles, the others laughing as well.

Kinkaku agents stop the ritual entirely, breaking formation, drawing swords, and rush towards their leader, stabbing the crocodiles whose hides protect them for the most part until they manage to squeak out enough damage to send the all away but the first and biggest one who is defensively growling and softly shaking his head, warning that he'll take her leg if they get closer.

Tetsuo groans in pain and stands, shakily, as he looks up at the bull and sees Mangetsu fighting it, happy that his friend is doing so well. He puts his fingers to his forehead and draws a kunai, appearing behind your victim in a shimmer of mist as he stabs the helpless man in the lungs. "Are you ok?" He asks you with concern.

Yuki, now available to do damage, rears back her head and unleashes a tremendous wind style that blows the bull into the other wall, banishing it. However, it also removes half of the mist, revealing the carnage wrought by your teammates.

Mangetsu shoots himself as a water dragon again across the battlefield into the mass of Kinkaku agents who all are knocked aside by his damage as he hands Tetsuo his sword back.

Saito observes the situation and gives a call, "Shimaru! Get ready! Earth Style: Explosive Fist!" He smacks the earth which gives a tremor and suddenly pops you into the air and places you behind the prone Captain and in front of all the Kinkau agents, your blade in hand.

    And it's your turn.

    Oh shit.

With the sound of rushing air two ANBU agents appear on either side of you, iron wire in both of their hands as you notice far too late that they got it around your arm, your senses muddled by the massive number of chakra signatures and how quiet theirs was. The only thing, you realize, that saved your head from this technique was the Konohagakure neckguard, making you realize why Konoha started wearing this.

You stumble backwards, the pain blinding as your sword arm drops to the ground, blood gushing out from the stump that is your elbow.

    Not so much.

The ANBU agent wheels around and tries to grip your blade as it's coming in, thinking he's so awesome, however he misjudges your insane strength as the blade gets lodged in his chest. The chakra saw spins to life and blood splatters out of his back, which you can now see through, as he hits the ground.

Waraji calls out, "CAPTAIN!!!" His voice is filled with rage, his calmness needed for his Battlemind vanishes as he sprints over to the other ANBU agent, who swings his tanto at Waraji's neck, finding his blow stopped short not by Waraji's blade but by the fact that Waraji's blade was now all the way in his stomach, something Waraji laughed at as he threw the man over his shoulder.

Gendo is about to move when the same move is tried on him, this time going for his neck. However, the wire only bites into hard crocodile skin as he grins, "Too slow." He stabs his sword into one of their stomach's and when the other one attempts to counter attack Gendo's jaws extend outwards and he bites the man sharply on the neck, twisting his own neck and snapping his victim's. His laughter is made even more eerie by the deep timbre added from his crocodile form.

The remaining members of the Kinkaku force, seeing their ANBU agents dying like that, grab your arm and put their fingers up, "Reverse Seal: Endless Inversion!" They seem to just want to spite you now as your arm peels itself inside out, the flesh a wet pile on the ground leaving just a bony arm and hand left. That arm is ruined.

The last four, as it took two to do their sealing jutsu, look at the Captain and say, "You know what must be done." She nods through the tears of her pain as they put their fingers up, ready.

One of them isn't going to make it. Yuki slides into view and impales him as the Captain laughs, "Tell my husband I love him." She says as he raises her hand, "Reverse Seal: Four Triangles Outward." Four black triangles appear around her and you see a titanic sum of chakra welling up inside of her as the force of her sealing jutsu is ready to rip her and everything in the proximity apart.

The three remaining members choose to flee, sprinting away at maximum speed, throwing down smoke bombs to cover their escape. When Saito jumps to intercept them, he is stabbed repeatedly and hits the ground bleeding.

When you all recongregate Mangetsu says, "Saito...told us what those Kinkaku members said as they left..." He said shakily before Saito wheezed, "The Raikage...will know...of his wife's demise." He said before passing out. Mangetsu put him down as Yuki immediately lays out a blanket for you to lay on as she assesses the damage, "By the Mizukage's power....I..." she says hesitantly and starts to try and heal the arm bone but nothing happens, "I can't create flesh..." She said, frantic as you keep bleeding before she realizes, "Wait..." Carefully she extends her elbow blade and pulls it out, fuses the bone to yours and with a hesitant expression she cuts her hand and coats your bone in that blood before starting the healing again. Now you suddenly feel something, warmth, the pain fading, the bone reknits itself to the elbow bone, and then the feeling stops. You have sensation in your hand again, you can move your fingers. Your right arm, from the elbow down, is bare bone, and you can move it. Yuki looks at you with worry and says, "I gave you some of my DNA, as a result, you have a small access to my bloodline, you can control your bones in that hand...like if you were a Kaguya." Okay guys, here's the question. Are we proud of our new skeleton arm? We did earn it while restoring the Seven Swords reputation.

Yeah find a big metal bracer or gauntlet to put over it so it looks like a normal hand.

But we also lost our arm because we got careless and let ANBU ambush us. No, not proud of it. But not about to hide it either. It's a reminder.

Also, did we drop off the ANBU bodies at Intelligence?

To a degree we're proud of it, but its also a reminder that we let our guard down and nearly lost our head. Once we get with yuki we may be able to reinforce it so it has the shape of a normal arm (if no flesh) as it is though it'll creep some people right the hell out.

Yes, consider it done and their work already started processing the bodies.

She should be up by nightfall.

There are other ways, I mean, I'm not saying don't do it, but I'm just saying we don't have to chimerize ourselves to win wars.

As you walk around town your fence finds you and notices you turning away, your sleeve covering the arm as she insightful notes that she has something just for you. After following her she produces a huge metalic gauntlet with three vents at the elbow. "This is a chakra-release gauntlet. Weaker shinobi use it to accelerate and enhance their blows, but strong shinobi, like yourself, can use it to turn deadly blows into devastating ones!"

"For my favorite customer? Free of charge, so long as you promise to bring me back some headbands the next time you go cleaning up." She says with a wide smile, the ryo signs popping in her eyes.

We should probably have a celebration with the rest of the swordsmen when they've recovered. Also, I'm worried about Mangetsu. He said he was 98% recovered before we whipped everyone into shape yet he was coughing blood after the last battle.

And can the finger tips be removed without compromising its function?

I think the best use for our Kaguya hand is learning a technique to extend a finger into a blade, for use when we are already holding someone in a grapple, so it just extends right into their body. This shores our weakness when we can't bring our sword to bear, otherwise I don't think we should focus on it too much, since it would just overlap with our swording.

Sudden Idea; growing a bone shield from that arm. It could provide ablative defense since we could probably learn to regrow it.

That is extremely viable. The power of the gauntlet comes from the propellant in the elbow.

Talking to Yuki will be interesting.

If we made holes over the knuckles we could even make a punch dagger or spike like protrusion to cause some major damage when we use that acceleration.

Say, could we use the gauntlet to give our sword an overheat ability- Dump an extra two to four chakra points into the steamsaw ability, giving us a single superheated attack at the cost of not being able to use our sword at all for a few rounds, possibly the whole encounter, or risk breaking it?
